THE PALM GROVE with its Three Large Air conditioned Bedrooms, and entirely open Living Areas is constructed of Almond Wood, in Tropical Style with large Verandahs. It is nestled on a gated three and a half acre property with more that 20 Mango trees, Water Apples, Papaya, Coconuts and Bananas and so is a haven for wildlife. The Howler Monkeys visit almost daily with their brood to hang upside down in the trees surrounding the extra deep refreshing Swimming Pool, providing fascinating circus acts. Tom (aka Peeping Tom), the Papa of the clan of monkeys, likes to sit in the Mango Tree and look at his own reflection in the bedroom Windows!
Large Iguanas frequent the property as do red Squirrels, Parakeets, Colibris and a myriad of other Birds and Butterflies
Right in front, The Ocean offers one of the best Surf Beaches in the Santa Teresa/ Malpais area, a beach so long and unspoiled it was recently voted one of the best beaches in the World by Forbes Magazine .
We have a film projector and large screen in the open air Lanai, as well as a Pool Table and a well stocked Kitchen with all mod cons. We also have WiIFI.
The tropically furnished bedrooms offer a queen size bed in two of the rooms and two queen size beds in the third. Fluffy pillows and beautiful oriental textiles complete the picture. We have a large safe for valuables, large enough for laptops. There are three bathrooms and surf board storage and a caretaker living on the property as well as security..
The Maid comes daily and can do Laundry on request.
THE PALM GROVE is conveniently situated across the street from the Fruit and Vegetable Vendor and the Supermarket but is away from noise and crowds. Many of our small fine restaurants from Argentinean to Thai, Fish, Italian, Sushi and of course Costa Rican. Many are within walking distance as is the Beach/Night Club, Dia y Noche with its huge Palapa and Sushi at Sunset.
We have a beautiful Yoga platform overlooking the ocean.
We live in Santa Teresa and are happy to share with you our inside knowledge of the best Surf Instructors, and Masseuses (Both come to you!) as well as any Adventurous Excursions you may wish to embark upon.
We can also supply you with a Chef if desired.
The Palm Grove rents for $4200 - $8400 per week depending on the season.

Fantastic beach house with only one drawback

We spent three nights in this wonderful place. It is the guest house on a beautiful property with the larger, more luxurious "La Casona." Palm grove is built with beautiful wood and furnished with asian antique style. The owner has an elegant sense of style and the place reflects a sense of love and care. The owner is friendly and attentive. There is also a fantastic yoga platform on the property, just meters from the surf. The owner does yoga classes there and offers them to her guests. The drawback for us was the kitchen. The vrbo description of the property says it has a "chef's kitchen." It doesn't. The place has a combination of beautiful ceramic serving bowls and plates and very low quality plastic kitchen tools. The stove was barely functional. And the coffee maker took 45 minutes to make coffee and was a low quality appliance. To her credit, the owner kept bringing other coffee makers for us to try, but there is just now way to justify this kitchen as a chef's kitchen. I could go on - no quality knives etc. All that being said, we made it work and enjoyed our time there very much. But if having a good kitchen matters to you, this will be an issue. Also, the place advertises daily maid service and the maid did not come on Sunday.
Owner response:We have spruced up the kitchen so vacationing cooks can indulge without fear. We have a new gas cooktop, a great electric oven big enough for a turkey as well as new coffee maker, blender and dishwasher. Nice new sharp knives too! The Palm Grove is rented all the time so at the end of the season things unfortunately sometimes get a bit tired (us included!) and if the guests don't tell us we don't know that all is not perfect. So we are grateful for the criticism! Pura Vida!

La Palm Grove has everything you can wish for. I spent one week her together with some friends from Sweden and we had a amazing time. The location is fantastic, with awesome surf just in front of the house. The vegetation surrounding the house is beautiful and we had daily visits from curios monkeys and iguanas. Everything worked perfect. The staff was very friendly and we had no problems during our stay. I cant wait to get back next year!

We spent our vacation at the Palm Grove. We immediately fell in love with the place. It is beautiful and cozy and you just want to stay forever. The beach is one of the most wild and exotic beaches we have seen. Surfing was excellent and the kids never wanted to stop. They became real "surfers" in no time. Even our 7 year old enjoyed the waves and was in the water for hours enjoying the big waves. We also took yoga classes every day at the beautiful "Shala" placed in the garden in the shades of the palm trees. If we didn't cook ourselves we went to one of the many restaurant situated nearby. Our hostess Anna was very helpful with bookings and guided us with insightful many tips. We will come back!!!

It takes your breath away. You drive down the driveway off the road from town into paradise!!! Lush landscaping as you approach the house...then enter the large wooden doors which open into this vast room of comfortable white and very chique furniture open to a large dining table for many and modern kitchen and clear through open doors to the pool lit in turquoise splendor and gardens that run down to the ocean. Through palm trees the glimpse of white waves crashing and the red sunset draws you along paths to the beach that stretches for miles to right and left.. heaven!!
