Owner's Profile

Owner Description

Year Purchased: 2002

Pieter and I have been living in San Francisco for over 15 years. I moved from Toronto and Pieter came from Amsterdam and somehow we met in San Francisco and have made Potrero Hill home.

The house is a two unit Victorian and we live upstairs. The downstairs unit drops down a steep hill allowing for a deck, with a walkout to the garden and plenty of afternoon light. The area where we live is one of the sunnier neighborhoods and from our deck we can see the fog gather and hang on Twin Peaks. We love our quiet street and are fortunate to live on a boulevard so we don't have houses across the street only trees.

Since the city is so small we have easy access to downtown, and to the Mission district. We are 6 blocks away from the on-ramp of hwy101/hwy280 that takes you south towards Palo Alto, San Jose and Carmel.

I hope you have the chance to visit. We will make every effort to welcome you and to provide whatever you need while you are visiting.

Margot - homeowner since 2002

Oh so San Francisco!

My husband and I stayed in this flat last month, and just loved it! It felt like we were in our own house for a few days with all of the touches of an infamous Victorian in the city. Very sunny place, that made it feel so happy. Super comfy bed. We LOVED the back private deck, and had our coffee and cocktails there with the amazing view. Lots of artistic details, which again was what we hoped for in San Francisco. I think the owner is a photographer/artist herself. We loved Portero Hill for the close by restaurants, funky coffee houses and views. We'll definitely be back! Carolyn and Todd

Very Comfortable Home Away From Home

Guest: Josephine (Arlington, MA)
Date of Stay: 10/05/11 Review Submitted: 10/13/11

We stayed here with our 18 month old son and could not have been more thrilled with the location and the comfort of this apartment. Not only does it have a perfect deck with stunning views of the city, but has everything you could possibly need....plenty of space to move around, a very comfortable bed, clean kitchen, Wi-Fi, the works. Margot is a very talented artist so the walls are adorned with her photography masterpieces and the decorative touches were reminiscent of a Parisian apartment. It is also in a perfect location, next to great coffee shops and restaurants in Potrero Hill and blocks away from a great new playground, with a full panoramic view of San Francisco. I can't wait to go back again soon!

Perfect SF spot to take in the city lights!

Date of Stay: 10/06/11 Review Submitted: 10/13/11

My wife and I recently stayed at this property in San Francisco's Potrero Hill neighborhood. The apartment is so well provisioned with everything you could possibly want or need. It was very comfortable, had amazing views of the city lights and sunset in the evening and was even only a short walk to two beautiful hilltop parks for our son. The owners were wonderful, we felt like we had known them for years, they were incredibly accommodating and wanted to make sure that we had everything we needed. The apartment was incredibly clean upon arrival. We would definitely stay here again and recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in San Francisco!

A Jewel in the City

Guest: Wes (Denver, CO)
Date of Stay: 01/15/09 Review Submitted: 10/10/11

We've stayed here twice in the last three years, a month at a time each time, and look forward to our next visit. Margot and Pieter are the most gracious of hosts, and the property is absolutely delightful. The Potrero Hill neighborhood is charming and historic, and full of great restaurants of all kinds, such as Goat Hill Pizza, Chez Maman, and Aperto. We loved sitting on the deck in the evening to watch the sun go down over Twin Peaks, and our doggies loved basking there in the afternoon. And less than a block up the street, there are beautiful views of Twin Peaks, the financial district, and the east bay. We love this jewel, and we think you will too.
