We didn't actually get to stay at this great looking Bungalow as it was booked out. But I just want others to know how good Kirby (the owner) was in communicating with me. We are in Australia and are visiting Hollywood in June 21012. I called & left a message & he called us back in Australia & did everything he could to help us & after realizing he had doubled booked called us back again, apologized & then took down my email & referred me to a friend that also rents properties in the area. He really went above & beyond. He is obviously very passionate about his property & I'm sure anyone staying here will find him extremely helpful. Great Spot in Hollywood

This was our second visit to this Bungalow. The first time was for 2 days, this time for 7 days. The bungalow is well appointed and clean and the back patio is lovely and affords the opportunity to be outside. Kirby is a great host and made a point to stop in to see us to chat. We utilized the air mattress this trip and it was pretty easy to set up and break down each day as it kind of takes over the living room area. But no biggie - we were thankful to have it. Sunset Blvd is right around the corner and we had several meals at the Mercantile wine bar (our favorite for the good food/wine and convenience). The Hollywood and Highland tourist area/shopping it is about a 15 minute walk and we had breakfast at Mel's diner the first morning. We will be back.

Convenient and Comfortable

Our stay here was really a great experience. We were attending the TCM Movie Festival and were able to walk to all venues. It was comfortable and quiet and provided us with a "home" for our Hollywood stay. The owner was helpful prior to our visit with his information and updates. He was also prompt in his attention to any of our concerns. It was so nice to NOT have to drive and pay for parking and the convenience meant we could get to the various movies and venues and even stop by in between. Photos were exactly what the bungalow looks like. We would recommend this property to anyone who wants to enjoy the area.

The property was exactly as described, well maintained and clean. It was close to lots of good eating establishments and all the other LA attractions were easy to access by car. Any concerns were very quickly sorted out by Kirby the owner. A great place to stay.

Perfect Hollywood Rental

My husband and I were performing at the Pantages for the holidays and this was a PERFECT home for us. We have been traveling the country for 3 years, and this was the first time we have felt like we were "at home". The owner was very accommodating and helpful and it was a 15 minute walk to the theater. Perfect for all of our rehearsals and shows. The farmers' market is amazing and there is a Trader Joe's walking distance. I will recommend this property to all my touring actor friends and hope I get to stay there again if I return.

Kerry's bungalow rental was absolutely FABULOUS! This was my first time to use VRBO vs staying in a hotel. I struck GOLD my first time:))))) We were there over the Thanksgiving week and it couldn't have been more perfect. I prepared the entire meal there, and entertained on the back patio. We had everything we needed:) The home is IMMACULATE, just as you see in the pictures. Our bedroom and bed were comfortable.....we were well rested for our daytime adventures. Our daughter lives several blocks away and we felt very safe walking the neighborhood to her apt. Kerry gave us great recommendations for restaurants as well as making sure we had all we needed:) I will definitely recommend his bungalow to all my friends traveling to Los Angeles. And we will ALWAYS check with him for availability when returning to L.A. Thank you Kerry!!:)

Kerry's bungalow rental was absolutely wonderful! It was my first time to rent a home vs. staying in a hotel. If Hollywood is what you are after you can't beat this location. Kirby's bungalow is on a quiet residential street easy walking distance to all the action. We are a family with teenage boys 13 & 14 and loved that this was a separate house so there was no noise concerns and enough space inside to store suitcases and skateboards. Beds were comfy, house was clean and the kitchen was well stocked (although I would have preferred a gas BBQ over electric grill) but nothing to fault Kirby on... he is a friendly likable guy.

Very handy location in the heart of Hollywood, two blocks away from the Kodak Theatre. We just could not believe that we managed to find such a wonderful place to stay. The bungalow is immaculate, very cozy, and just faultless, the kids love the place. Kirby was just very hospitable and went the extra mile to make sure that our stay was a wonderful experience. Thank you very much for all your help. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Overall, an excellent experience! There was a small hitch in the beginning, but Kirby made it right! We are a family of 5: 3 children 16, 13, 9. We felt very safe at all times. Our accommodation was top notch. The sleeping arrangements worked beautifully. The air mattresses and large queen size beds were very comfortable. Although LA is very large, we did this trip by public transportation. The metro is very close. The busses work very well. I highly recommend this mode to anyone. Take your laptop and use the Metro web site as well you can book Star Line Tours to Disney etc. Thank you very much, Kirby! We would definitely come back in a heart beat! Suggestions: Warner Brothers Tour (trip advisor gave mixed reviews, however it was absolutely worth the money!!)

We had the pleasure of staying in Hollywood at Kirby's sunset bungalow for over a week with our two kids, 14 and 9. Really could not have asked for a more comfortable spot. The place is very clean, updated and private -- you don't even know you're in the middle of Hollywood. As a host, Kirby is terrific, accommodating but not obtrusive, and his extensive written list of restaurant recommendations were spot on. Nice perks to have access to both full laundry and private parking (the only place in LA where you don't need to validate) just a few steps from the front door. Makes unpacking and repacking a breeze. We'll be back, Kirby!

My husband and I stayed at the bungalow for a week in July. We loved it! The place is clean and had more than enough space to move around. It is very near to popular places, making sightseeing an easy walk or drive away. Kirby is wonderful. I had a lot of questions before our stay about the bungalow and LA in general. Kirby was always fast to respond and quite kind, no matter how many times I contacted him. I can't say enough to convey how much we enjoyed our stay. Huge thumbs up to Kirby and the bungalow. We look forward to staying at the bungalow again!

We love staying here and have been lucky enough to book far enough ahead to stay 3 or 4 times. (We can't remember,because it feels like home by now.) Just when we think it is perfect, Kirby finds small but important ways to make this rental even more special. The high quality of amenities remains steady. It is great to know we can count on a wonderful place to enjoy each time. Advice: if you consider it, BOOK IT! The days you want will most likely be gone next week! We have learned the hard way when several times we have waited too long.

We stayed at this home for the first 2 days of a recent holiday. I wish it was available longer As we would have stayed for the whole trip. Having a daughter in a wheelchair, I was worried about accessibility. No problem. Kirby was great and stressed that if there was any help needed or any questions just ask. We were welcomed With a list of things to do, brochures, books etc. It was cozy and comfortable with a nice little backyard to enjoy a morning coffee. My 3 young girls loved it. They didn't want to leave and neither did I. Kirby is one of the nicest people I've ever met and I will definitely try to stay here the next time I'm back. Thank you Kirby from all of us!!!!

what a wonderful week we had at the bungalow in hollywood.it was just perfect in every way the kitchen was awesome to cook in love the big oven.the bedroom was super comfy pillow's and bed kid's all the tv channels and having the washing machine and dryer was great the bungalow look's the as in the picture's clean ,comfortable and just like being at home:-) and kirby the owner is just super so many helpful hint's of place's to visit and where to eat could not of asked for a nicer guy. the walk to the hollywood walk of fame just up the road supermarket not far either can't wait to come back to the bungalow for another great holiday thank's kirby and see you soon

My family and I just stayed at the Bungalow and it was great. It was exactly as described. The owner couldn't have been nicer! He was so easy to work with and always prompt in answering any of my questions. Family of 4 from Sydney (2 adults and 2 boys aged 10 and 12) stayed 4 nights in Janaury 2011. All amenities are of a high standard including the kitchen which is large and well set up. Bedroom is generous with a huge wardrobe that can store luggage whilst you hang up your clothes. Boys slept on the inflatable double bed which was able to be left set up without taking up the entire living room as is often the case. The two TVs are current flat screens with more channels than you could ever watch. The laundry was handy too. Location is ideal for absolutley everything you'd want to see around town. It's an easy walk to public transport, convenience shops and amenities. The accomodation was great, the weather picture perfect and the owner lovely. We would definatly recommend to other families.

My boyfriend and I have just returned from a 2 week holiday travelling the West Coast and we decided to stay in a holiday rental rather than a hotel to break up our accomodation throughout our holiday and we came across this perfect rental! Its in the best location that you can ask for if you are looking to stay around the Hollywood area! LA is a massive city and a car is highly recommended... The bungalow its self fitted the bill for our stay - felt very secure in everyway, spotless throughout and the most amazing bed!! So pleased that we stayed here and would highly recommend to friends and would stay her again if we return to LA! My daughter just moved to Hollywood and we needed somewhere to stay while moving her in to her apartment. We have stayed in hotels in Hollywood in the past, but we really enjoyed staying in Kirby's Bungalow. It was very, very clean and designed and decorated with care. I am a very picky guest and Kirby's hospitality and bungalow exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect and close to everything we needed. We will visit our daughter frequently and would love to be able to stay in this Bungalow every time we visit. The outdoor patio is a pleasant added bonus!!! The kitchen was well equipped and for a longer stay, having a washer and dryer would be an added bonus. We recommend this vacation rental to everyone!

We spent a week here in early August 2010 and cannot speak too highly of the accomodation. It was very clean, spacious, and the photos on the website are an accurate representation. We did some of our own cooking, and everything we needed was available. The private backyard is an oasis in a crazy town, very quiet, private and relaxing. Location is fantastic, 10min walk at the most to the 'action' centre of Hollywood Boulevard, and a maximum 15min walk to a large supermarket, there is a 7-11 at the end of the street, fast food, bus stations, pharmacy & tour companies are all nearby. Kirby is extremely helpful with anything that you might need, or information ... otherwise he leaves you to do your own thing and does not infringe on your privacy at all. We were completely happy with our stay, we only wish we had taken our laptop with us as it was hard to find internet cafe's nearby, and it would have been useful to be able to get online to research tours, bus timetables etc. We hired a car to drive down to San Diego Zoo, the car rental from Enterprise was much cheaper than paying for 2 adults on one of the shuttle buses. We also hired a car from Enterprise while in Orlando, and after both experiences would recommend them - much cheaper than the major companies, and we found them to be great. Another hint, if wanting to catch the bus down to Santa Monica/Venice Beach, pick your time so that you aren't travelling at the same time as everyone who is going to work. When the buses fill up they don't pick up new passengers, just drive on past and leave you standing there to wait another 30mins for the next bus. We would definitely stay here again, it beats a hotel room hands down. Next time we would stay longer as it is so comfortable that it really is like a home away from home.

We just loved staying here at this bungalow. It was a perfect fit for our family. The location was centrally located, allowing us to go to the beach for the day and then take a walk on Hollywood Blvd at night. We really did have the best of both worlds. The bungalow new and modern. It had everything we needed for a comfortable stay and if we needed anything else the bungalows owner Kirby was there to deliver. He gave us great advice as to where to eat or go and that was invaluable to us. The house is set back behind the main house which gave a sense of security. Our car was parked 100 ft. onto the driveway and we never worried about it once during the night. I would highly recommend this rental property to anyone. If I do go back to California I know where I'm staying already. Thanks again Kirby for a memorable vacation.

I had the opportunity to rent this one bedroom bungalow for seven nights. The location was perfect for driving and walking around Hollywood. The unit was very clean, updated and so charming, as is the neighborhood and neighbors. Kirby, the owner, was very friendly, informative and patient with my noisy and sometimes loud and rowdy kids (I had four with me - I know what was I thinking!) Anyway, I loved it so much, I want to come back, but he is booked - waaah! As it should be because it is a wonderful place to stay as I have said. This place is just minutes away from the 101 Freeway or cruising down Sunset. He did say he could not guarantee we would see a celebrity... but just down the street at In & Out Burger, we met Usher, the kids got autographs and everyone is happy! Oh, and we were in our first earthquake too (thank goodness it was hundreds of miles away and nothing was damaged). I tell you we had a great time in LA! If you stay here, I bet you will too! Quiet solitude near the strip

I can't say enough about this location. In the backyard you have an enclosed garden patio offering solitude, while only a few blocks away is the Sunset Strip. Although we didn't spend much time in the surrounding area, we did enjoy the quiet solitude of the backyard. Because our time was draw in different directions, one of my concerns before we arrived was the security of the area. I was pleased that no problems with our late arrivals, and departures. I would, and have recommended this property to others.

We enjoyed our stay very much. The bungalow was spotless, tastefully furnished, and well equipped. We loved the kitchen (big gas stove, dishwasher, etc.). The only problem was the long gravel driveway - I would not recommend this place for anybody in a wheelchair as the gravel is quite deep and not firm at all. It is impossible for a person in a wheelchair to propel themselves on that surface.

We all know that Craig's list has the good and the bad. But I gambled and won with Kirby's Sunset Boulevard bungalow! Kirby is an ace innkeeper, and the bungalow is just great. Private, cozy and SO much better than a hotel (which was why I was searching). Full kitchen, gorgeous bedroom and bathroom. You are truly in the heart of the city. My husband, 2 children (ages 3 and 8 months) and sister stayed at the Hollywood Bungalow over Columbus Day weekend (Oct 7 - 12) and it was all we had expected and more. My friend (who lives in North Hollywood) got married at the Roosevelt Hotel - about 1/2 mile away. It was so convenient to the hotel and all the Hollywood sites. The owner, Kirby Tepper was a very gracious host. He was so warm and accommodating. I must say, it was a leap of faith to send a complete stranger a payment 6 months in advance for a place I had never seen, but it was well worth it. We were so relieved when we walked into the bungalow. It was clean, tidy, and very nicely furnished. I really wanted a quiet place for my family where we would have privacy for us and others wouldn't be bothered by a crying 8 month old. The private patio was soooo relaxing. You would not think you were in the city. We heard crickets chirping with Sunset Blvd one block away! I would highly recommend the Hollywood Bungalow!

We visited in Mid September and this was not by any strech our first visit to LA and Hollywood. The bungalow was perfect for my wife and myself in that it was safe, very comfortable, within walking distance of the major sights and attractions of Hollywood such as the Bowl and also a great place to be based within striking distance of the beaches, Beverley Hills etc. It was a little oasis and having WiFi access was a real bonus. Our host could could not do enough, but was not intrusive, and gave several good recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to try. We'll most definitely book again when in LA.

We were absolutely thrilled with this wonderful guest house. The location is excellent, just a short walk away from many Hollywood highlights. We were welcomed with a fantastic letter from Kirby outlining places to visit, restaurants, theatres etc. He was very accommodating and stopped by to introduce himself and make sure we had everything we needed. I had a great time staying at the Sunset Boulevard Bungalow! This place has got everything you'd ever dream of: very quiet location, walking distance to everything you need (which is something pretty rare in Los Angeles!). Kirby is a very nice and welcoming guest!! I've found the place to stay whenever I go back to Los Angeles!

This was our 4th visit to LA (to visit our son who lives here) and we were so glad we found Kirby's bungalow this time for our 10 day visit in June 09. Everything was perfect. No complaints whatsoever. Kirby is a great host and very accommodating, from our original enquiry and booking, to information and suggestions supplied. The bungalow is great. (why would you stay in a hotel!!) His attention to detail to make your stay so enjoyable is evident from the most comfortable bed and pillows, fluffy towels, kitchen amenities etc. and all very clean and tidy. Great to have a laundry and car space too. Everything one needs - big flatscreen tv, comfy lounge, an outdoor patio, and in a great spot, so close to Sunset and Hollywood boulevarde, but no noise as it is in a residential street. Previous guests leave food etc. in pantry and fridge which his housekeeper checks for freshness. So on arrival you will find you can have a drink, a snack, etc. Kirby is on hand when you need him, but is unobtrusive. He obviously enjoys his "guests" and takes great pride in his bungalow. There are a lot of attractions, places to eat, and a small supermarket and PO within walking distance. Our criteria for this visit was- location, comfort, space, cleanliness, outdoor area, ambience, amenities, car space--- and Kirby's bungalow ticked all those boxes, and more than met our expectations. So nice to be able to make our own breakfast, and other meals if needs be, as it has a full kitchen with appliances. Great for Aussies to have a 'kettle' too to make that much needed cup of tea _(not a mug in the microwave which just doesnt taste the same!). So thankyou Kirby for a wonderful and most enjoyable stay - we certainly know where we will be staying next time. Can see that you are well booked up for the months ahead - word is obviously out from your previous guests - and all their comments and accolades are very well deserved. We have stayed here twice so far. Our expectations were absolutely surpassed in all areas with this rental both times. The Bungalow provides the perfect accommodations in LA for our family of 4, including our sons, both in their 20s. The central location minimizes driving time, we have plenty of parking for our 2 cars, a spacious area for the 4 of us to spread out in. It is a luxury to have a large washer and dryer and a fully stocked kitchen. To the boys’ delight, there are multitudes of cable channels on the 2 new flat-screen HDTVs, plus wireless internet. It is newer, cleaner and better cared-for than any upscale hotel we have ever stayed at. The beds are very comfortable and the amenities such as linens and pillows are brand new! This rental is immaculately furnished and decorated with care: very stylish and Hollywood Hip, yet welcoming and comfortable.The private backyard patio adds to the California Vacation feel. Even though it is in the heart of Hollywood, the Bungalow is set back from a quiet, tree-lined street and amazingly quiet. The close proximity to freeways,a nearby gym, awesome Hollywood restaurants and activities makes our L.A. living and navigating delightfully simple. It is easy to “stop at home” in between adventures. 1/2 block away is the new "it" nightspot for young stars to have their birthday bash; restaurant Citrus and nightclub Social. As repeat guests, what we found this time was a bit of insight into what gives this place its distinct quality; it’s not the luxurious thread-count, the private patio, the dream location. It is that this host is a benevolent genius. His keen understanding of the art of hosting makes one feel comfortable and “at home”, yet pampered.His knowledge, availability, personal touches, and his genuine and generous hospitality make it clear that he cares that you have an enjoyable stay. The warm positive atmosphere he creates has now promoted a delightful “pay-it-forward” mood with many of the guests. Now when you arrive, you may be greeted with a pantry full of unopened ingredients for several meals.The fridge might surprise you with some brand new syrup for your morning pancakes and some sealed Ben and Jerry’s ice cream. I suggest you stop in before you get groceries; who knows what the last guest purchased new, ran out of time, and gifted to you?

What a find. beautifully decorated, and all the space we needed. We started with a very warm welcome from Kirby, but then he left us to it, but always knew he was a phone call away. The terrace at the back was just what we needed after a long day out. Really great position to get everywhere. Info on lots of things to do is in the apartment, even as a regular visitor to L.A some of these were new to me. Thole experience was fanastic and I would certainly return here again.

What to say, our stay at the bungalow was just perfect. You get exactly what you have expected and thanks to Kirby who is so welcoming and so helpful. I arrived late with my children and we found the keys and everything set up so perfectly, we even found some food in the fridge and a lot of information!!! You really feel at home, and believe big travelers such as we are, a host like Kirby is so RARE.... Thank you for those nice days there We will probably come back soon.

I can't say enough about this great property! Kirby, the owner, called me right away and we set the whole thing up. It was as easy as it could be. We were given great directions. The location was perfect, one street away from Sunset Blvd, but not a single sound of traffic was heard. The decor was awesome. Our daughter, who lives in L.A., stayed with us, because it was so nice and roomy and cool! Nice comfortable bed, lots of fresh, fluffy towels. I could go on and on... my daughter wants to move in ! I had friends visiting from korea and didnt want them to either stay at a hotel or be "in the middle of nowhere" at my home in Calabasas, so the Sunset Bungalow was a perfect choice. Its a beautfiul oasis just walking distance from all the top tourist sites in Hollywood. The Bungalow is beautifully furnished and brand new. In addition, the owner, Kirby, could not be more welcoming or helpful. I would recommend it to anyone visiting the LA area.

I almost didn’t want to write this review for fear that I would never be able to rent this place again (because of its popularity). I seriously doubt that you could find a better location to explore Hollywood, including all of the hotels just off of the boulevard. The bungalow is nested within a palm tree lined street that is close enough to all of the action and yet remains quite and secluded. Your host Kirby is a wonderful resource but also knows when to let you explore on your own. It is walkable to mass transit, but if you have a car, you are just minutes away from several awe inspiring locations. Don't be suprised if you do see some celebrities in the area; maybe even behind you at the local grocery store. If you are looking for a dream, this is the experience you are looking for.

We have really enjoyed ourselves in your wonderful apartment. The place was well clean, filled with luxurious clean towels. Kitchen is also very well stocked with every possible utensils available. The cable TV was the highlight for us, with more than 500 channels to choose from, that kinda kept us busy the entire evening. Of course not forgetting the private garden, the wide array of tourist information available and the wonderful host who very professional. The probable disappointment would probably be not having sufficient time to enjoy the place and of course not able to get the place for the first leg of our trip. If we have the chance to visit LA again, we would definitely love to stay at your apartment again. Hopefully we can book early to avoid disappointment.

Great Hollywood location. Owner is incredibly accommodating. Bungalow is stylishly appointed, spotless and impeccably maintained. Though it is a gusst house, the way it's situated offers complete privacy. Do not stay in a hotel, if visiting Hollywood, this is your best option.

We really enjoyed spending a relaxing week at this cozy, charming cottage in a quiet neighborhood. We've been to the LA/Hollywood area about 4-5 times before, and this was by far the best place we've ever found. It was as nice as the photos, and very clean, comfortable, and supplied with everything we needed. It was convenient to all the local places we wanted to go to on Sunset Blvd., Hollywood Blvd., and beyond. Sometimes it was nice to just leave the car parked and walk to a nearby destination. Groceries and post office are very close. We enjoyed the local cafes and sights, and were close enough to freeways and major streets to take us to surrounding areas and beaches. Some of our favorite places were the Griffith Observatory/Park where we watched the sun go down over the city and saw coyotes; renting bikes at the Santa Monica beach near the pier and seeing an even more beautiful sunset over the ocean there. Kirby, the owner, was very helpful in making sure all our needs were taken care of, and in providing information for the local area. We definitely would return for future visits to the LA/Hollywood area, and highly recommend it to others.

The location of this property could not be better, within walking distance of many tourist attractions, bars, restaurants and stores. The bungalow is modern and attractive inside and has all the facilities you could need. I would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Hollywood.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week-long stay at The Bungalow in Los Angeles! We really liked the location--a little 'downbeat', I suppose, it is tucked-away on a quiet, residential street just one block off of Sunset. Very quiet and comfortable, but only a block or so from the Cat and the Fiddle Pub (great comfort food, groovy little patio), Ground Works coffee shop and an amazing Amoeba Records music store that is an LA 'experience' in an of itself. Kirby--the owner--pays special attention to those so-called 'little' details. The bed, linens and towels are thick and plush. Nice soaps and candles. The kitchen is well-equipped and spotless, as is the rest of the place. It has a lovely, private patio space and all of the niceties of home. We visited over the holidays and found little goodies-champagne and such--waiting for us on arrival. The paper was left for us each day and lots of information left in the bungalow about sites to see and so on. We really enjoyed The Bungalow and heartily recommend it.

This little bungalow was exactly what we wanted. Every amenity and need was anticipated and addressed. The charming back garden area was the perfect place to entertain a high charging two year old. The owner checked in daily. He was not obtrusive (we've stayed in places with butlers who were very intrusive in their want to serve - but owner, Kirby, was great - his attentiveness was just enough for us to know he cared about our comfort). We would definitely recommend this place to friends who want to be in the heart of Hollywood. Several local eateries and shops were enjoyed - we shopped the local Bristol Farms, Whole Foods and Ralphs. We didn't eat at the In and Out Burger on Sunset but would have it we'd created the time to enjoy it... we love Inn and Out Burgers and just knowing there was one nearby was a plus. We did dine at Fabiolus - which was fab. We enjoyed excellent gnocchi, salads and a fresh pasta du jour (can't remember the name). Highways are readily accessible and traffic wasn't bad (Thanksgiving week). Walking - even with a stroller - was fun and the neighborhood begs to be explored. In summary - our experience was excellent, the property well-maintained and all needs addressed, owner was charming and helpful and we would recommend it to others and stay again ourselves. Beautiful getaway in heart of Hollywood

My girlfriend and I stayed in Kirby's adorable guesthouse for a month, and couldn't have been happier. We also had a golden retriver, madison, who couldn't have enjoyed it more. The house is very well put together, with everything you need. The flatscreen is huge, the furniture is very comfortable and the unit feels as if it a lot of love and money was put into it. The backyard was big enough to play with our dog and had a nice patio to eat on. I highly recommend this to any single, couple with or without pets. The owner is very nice and makes you feel like right at home once you arrive. We have not had as good as experience as we had with this guest house. Hope you have as much fun!

I've been in the Sunset Bungalow last August and EVERYTHING was PERFECT! First of all (it never happens) the descriptions on this site fill perfecly what you will get one time there. The house is so comfortable, the position nice and quite (but close to hot spots)!, new fornitures and you'll find everything you need. And, last but not least, Kirby (the owner) is a professional and serious person you can count on. I've been many times in LA in the past, but this one was my best! Angelo Colonna
