We had a wonderful 2-month stay at the Green Cottage. It was our fourth visit to Ocean Springs and our second visit to this cottage. Walks to East Beach were a daily event. Downtown is nearby as well. The house is comfortable and the screened porch is wonderful. We opened all the windows and reveled in our luck to have escaped the north in winter. You can cook because everything that you might need is provided or you can enjoy many great places to eat. We recommend Kwitzky's for drinks, Maison d'Lu for lunch and the Porter St. Bistro for dinner. In Biloxi ,go to the Half Shell for raw oysters and be sure to support the local artists at the Art House in Ocean Springs and Studio 782 in Biloxi . Walk the bridge, meet the people -- it's a great place. You will find the owner, Rosemarie, hospitable and accommodating and if you're lucky, the local turtles will visit you at the back door. We highly recommend.

My husband and I stayed for a weekend at this house. It was within walking distance to downtown Ocean Springs. The house was comforable, clean and as described. The front porch is great and we enjoyed relaxing. We would recommend this property to anyone staying in Ocean Springs. Ocean Springs is a lovely, quaint small town. We loved attending the annual art festival. The owner was very helpful and returned our deposit check very quickly. We had a great time.

We just returned from our Memorial Day weekend stay at Rosemarie's cottage. We took my elderly parents, who needed a place with no stairs etc. They got around very well here, the home is spacious and comfortable. There are 3 different living spaces in the house, one for TV watching, another living area for visiting, and a screened in porch for taking in nature with a view of 2 gorgeous oak trees. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful, yet it is near the beach, harbor and downtown Ocean Springs, We highly recommend a visit to this home. Thanks Rosemarie!

Our week in May at the Green Cottage was delightful. We stayed with our daughter and family which included a two year old and a four year old. Ocean Springs is a terrific town with museums great restaurants and convenient access to Biloxi. The owner is great to work with and the cottage is exactly as described. The location is very convenient to shopping, several very nice parks with playgrounds, the harbor and of course well maintained access to the gulf beach with a small water park, playground and two fishing piers. The cottage is nicely furnished with a well equipped kitchen, comfortable beds and a marvelous screened porch from which to watch birds which frequent the centuries old oak tree in the front yard. We also used the screened porch as an activity center for the boys. In addition there were two of the cutest little armadillos rooting in the front yard when we arrived an we had the pleasure of a nocturnal visit from a small fox. The turtle who appears for a snack at the back door charmed us all.

We stayed at this cottage for a month this spring. It's a great location in an idyllic coastal town. The cottage is clean and comfortable with a screened porch where you can watch everyone go by but where your own privacy is protected by the lovely trees and plantings that surround the property. This place has everything you need for a great vacation. Owner is thoughtful and accommodating. . Turtles come by for a handout as do the hummingbirds. We would recommend to friends and family and we will be going back.

The cottage was warm and inviting - funky decor, comfy beds and a brilliant kitchen. The huge backyard was perfect for stretching, sunbathing and evening cocktails. From the inside it felt like living in a secret garden, surrounded by happy oak trees and flowering shrubs. We loved the sunset walk to East beach and watching the egrets fly in over the harbor. We can’t say enough about this place! It was an inspiring getaway. Oh, and the screened-in porch was such a delight! Thank you. We hope to return.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving in Ocean Springs! In fact, my daughter recently asked if we could run away to the house Ocean Springs every holiday! We ate at The Shed in Van Cleve the first night-those folks really know BBQ! Thanksgiving Day we walked to the wonderful Broomes Grocery for a few last minute Thanksgiving needs, then spent the day at the beach and walking the Biloxi Bridge. We prepared the most amazing dinner-shrimp scampi from local shrimp caught by a neighbor ($3 lb and delicious!) and crab cakes from local crab meat-the kitchen had everything we needed-it was perfect! Friday we visited art galleries, had a wonderful lunch at a local restaurant and caught a movie (it was raining). The trip was wonderful and the house was just perfect for our family, myself, my husband, our kids (18 and 9) and my mother! We played board games on the wonderful front porch-which is also where we ate our Thanksgiving dinner! Can't wait to visit again.

We had a wonderful time in this great little cottage. The owner has taken so much care in furnishing this cottage. It was very well stocked and I felt so much at home there. the neighbor was beautiful and I enjoyed riding my bike in the morning. The town of Ocean Springs is so nice and fun to explore. It was so easy working with owner and the house was so clean when we arrived. I am already planning my trip for next year.

This place, and the owner, are wonderful. The kitchen is very well equipped and laundry is available on site. The single bathroom is clean and cute, with lots of fluffy towels. Both bedrooms have comfortable double beds and there's a futon in the den as well. The house is secluded from the street by bushy shrubs that leave you feeling as if you're in your own private world. The comfortable screened in porch runs across the front of the house and feels like an outdoor living room. Curious turtles come by to visit and live there too! Downtown Ocean Springs is less than a mile away and there's lots of great places to explore there.
Owner response:Pete and Mary Ann were the only nice thing to come out of the BP disaster. They were in Ocean Springs to work on surveillance of the extent of the spill and rented my house. They were super folks, lovely guests, and I hope they decide to move to the coast permanently when the oil mess is finally cleaned up. They'd be great neighbors.

We enjoyed our time in the cottage. Minutes from fun downtown Ocean Springs Shops and Biloxi. The kitchen was well equipped and there were comfortable living/Sleeping quarters. The screened in porch was nice getaway to relax, especially when it was raining. The kids enjoyed the turtles on the property and had fun feeding them.

We stayed at the little cottage while visiting family in Ocean Springs. It was such a welcome change from a hotel room for around the same price! The place was simply adorable, cozy and super-clean! Located in a quiet neighborhood, just a few blocks from downtown Ocean Springs and literaly two houses down from a boat landing and nice park! I wish we could have stayed longer and will most definitely return. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

We stay at VRBO locations whenever possible, usually as a couple or the whole family, so have experienced a gamut of results with the rentals. This was our best stay and have recommended it to others, though this our first review, ever. We loved this cottage, that delivers more than is stated here. The home is packed with separate areas to hang out in, including a very large screened porch, and a great den; the backyard is charming and huge. We made friends with a gigantic turtle there. The house is unusually full of amenities that make the visit easier and more comfortable. The kids were able to canoe over to Ship Island, we visited one of the jewels of the South - Walter Anderson Museum, and ate at really good restaurants in their nice walkable downtown. Also, our deposit was returned quickly, and that's something that I appreciate. Can't wait to return!

We had a wonderful experience staying in this lovely home. The inside was clean and had plenty of sitting (and lounging!) space. The porch is absolutely wonderful - it is spacious and private, thanks to the azaleas and other landscaping. We are booked to stay here again later this year.

My husband and I and a friends elderly parents stayed at the cottage for a few days last spring (late May '09). The cottage was very clean and comfortable. It is in a quiet neighborhood, a little hard to find at first but once you get there easy to navigate. It's super close to the beach and only a short drive from Biloxi, maybe 20 minutes. We found the downtown area very charming. If you go, make sure you stop to get some donuts in the morning. There is an awesome homemade donut shop about 3 minutes away. There are also many bars not far away if that is your thing. We were very gald we didn't opt for an equivilantly priced hotel in Biloxi. PS. The turtle likes beef jerky.
