La Casona is a stunning Costa Rican Colonial-style building with rustic beams, polished white concrete and teak floors, high ceilings and airy verandas that encircle the building. La Casona which is situated on the white beaches of Santa Teresa Mal Pais has 5 air conditioned bedrooms facing the pool and the ocean, and 5 bathrooms. Sleep 11 plus.
La Casona is a superbly elegant rustic Hacienda resting on three and a half beach front acres. It is furnished in exotic Tropical style with beautiful rattan sofas and armchairs and offers a stunning chef's kitchen with professional 6-burner gas stove and huge stainless steel fridge/freezer. There is a deep pool, pool-table, day-beds for lounging under Palm-roofed Ranchos. The beach front grounds abound with Coconut Palms, Mango trees, Papaya, Water Apple, Banana and Platano trees drawing a lot of visiting Monkeys, squirrels and exotic birds.
We have WIFI, Satellite TV and a films screen with projector and a library of DVDs.
Daily maid service, Laundry, Chef available by request (local Costa Rican dishes or International Cuisine). Resident Caretaker on the property.
For groups over 11 we also offer a charming three bedroom guest house built of Almond wood with its own pool on the same property which rents for $700 per night. In all, the whole property can sleep up to 19 people!
Mal Pais Santa Teresa is a Surfer's Paradise with year-round Consistent Surf and Beautiful uncrowded White Sand Beaches stretching from Cabo Blanco National Park (The first national park in Costa Rica) to the small fishing village of Manzanillo in the North. In all about 7 kilometers of spectacular beaches.
La Casona has surfing right in front and our guests have a large choice of activities for all ages from Adventure Excursions on Horseback on a 1000 acre Costa Rican Finca or along the beaches of Mal Pais (We have two horses!)to flying through the tree tops on a zip line or relaxing with a massage under the palm trees or a private Yoga session at dawn or sunset. We can also provide Surf Instruction, Beauty Treatments and Meditation.
We do Spectacular Weddings! We have three coming up in 2008 each with about 100 guests each who will be dancing under the stars and lounging in our huge colorful Moroccan tent.
Fishing is fantastic here. We go out with the Mal Pais Fishermen ($35-$55 per hour for up to 8 people) and catch Tuna, Yellow fin, Red Snapper and other fish to barbecue and turn into the freshest Sushi when we get home.
The restaurant scene here is very good as many Europeans have settled in Mal Pais Santa Teresa and realized their dream to open a restaurant in Paradise.
There are wonderful, Italian French, Thai, Spanish, Argentinian and of course Costa Rican restaurants all using the abundant seafood, fruits and vegetables available here. Even the smallest "Soda" will serve delicious fresh smoothies with Gallo Pinto, the national dish of rice and beans.
La Casona has at least 20 Mango Trees on the property, lots of Coconut Palms and Bananas so we have our very own fruit!
We can provide Baby Sitting.
