Our 900 square foot Log Cabin is located in Forbes Park in the Sangre De Christo Mountains at 9000 feet, in the south-eastern part of Colorado. It is located between Walsenburg and Alamosa on Highway 160, 90 miles north of Taos New Mexico.
Forbes Park is a private, gated neighborhood on 13,000 acres. There is no hunting allowed in the park, but there is hunting allowed in the neighboring National Forest. Enjoy beautiful views of 11,000 to 14,000 foot mountains nearby.
The cabin has two queen beds in the upstairs loft and a queen-size sleeper sofa in the living room. The spacious kitchen has a gas stove/oven, a large refrigerator, a microwave and a toaster. It has a separate laundry/storage room with a washer and dryer. The huge deck offers stunning views of gorgeous meadows and mountains.
Enjoy this winter wonderland of undisturbed white beauty by the warm woodstove.
The park has lots of wildlife like deer, elk, turkey, bears, coyote, beaver and all kinds of smaller animals. There is nearby fishing and hunting. The Sand Dunes National Park, Lathrop State Park and the picturesque towns of Fort Garland, LaVeta and Cuchara are within a 30 min. drive.
