You are sure to enjoy this very unique Lake Murray vacation rental setting! The photos show the isolated property and unassigned adjoining peninsula, forming a scenic panorama of your very own personal "Bordeaux Bay". This bay opens directly into deep/open water providing a superb lake vista and great fishing. The 1800+ square foot vacation home has its very own, very private, manicured sandy beach, found in very few locations at Lake Murray. Come enjoy this very comfortable home with great views, great fishing, great swimming, and a large private beach. On the property we have an active osprey nest, and during the spring and early summer you have a fabulous view of the adults flying in to feed the chick from our back deck. There are also deer, Canadian geese, Mallards, turtles, and sometimes bald eagles.
One third of our 2011 summer weeks were from families who had rented with us at least once before. 2012 has started booking unusually early, with May now fully booked, and half of June and July already reserved.
Two years ago, we completely updated the entire house, with all new furniture, new kitchen appliances, and new paint and carpet. Five huge floor-to-ceiling windows provide a fabulous view of your very private beach, the isolated bay, and the lake from the Family Room and Dining Room. The 40" flat screen HDTV (with 200 Channel DishTV) may distract your attention from the superb view outside. High speed satellite wireless internet is also available. Ceiling fans are in the Family Room, all bedrooms, and on the covered porch. The house’s open deck and covered porch face northeast and your bay, making them perfect for all-day use. At the far north end of the property is a separate pergola (arbored patio sitting area) with an outstanding 3+ mile lake view, and a great spot for watching the sunrise or moonrise, and the 4th of July fireworks on Dreher Island. A concrete fire pit is located just off the beach, for great evenings under the stars! Look back to the west across the shoreline to see magnificent sunsets.
All the fisherman's essential boating needs are addressed with your own boat ramp and a very large floating dock. You can experience great fishing right off the property or the dock, or in the abundant nearby coves. Pull back from your dock and you are right in open water - over 60 feet deep only 300 yards off shore. Great for skiing, tubing, and jet skis. Your protected bay provides a great swimming area either out from the beach or off your large floating dock (12+ foot depths) which also has a swimming ladder.
The Bordeaux Bay vacation home is located on a nicely wooded, one acre lot with a 325 foot waterfront (expanded to 700 ft. by the adjoining peninsula). At the far west edge of the property is a boathouse (shown in aerial photo by the dock) that we do not rent. With its very unique setting, Bordeaux Bay is sure to provide your party with a very memorable Lake Murray getaway. This very clean property is located on the Lexington (south) side of Lake Murray, northwest of Lexington, just beyond Climax, SC. There is essentially no vehicle traffic, since the house is literally at the “end of the road”.

- Fire Pit -- A concrete fire pit is on the property just off the beach area near the pergola. At the fire pit are two concrete benches and a picnic table. Aged/stacked wood firewood is provided. It makes for great entertainment for evenings under the stars! Bicycles -- One adult 21-speed and one 10-speed bike are available for your use. Birdwatching - Ospreys nest in a large tree on the property. You have a great view of their approach to the nest over the bay from the back deck of the house. Bald eagles nest off to the east of our property, and sometimes perch in a tall pine just above our driveway, surveying the area for food. Both are huge, beautiful birds!

We bought this particular property because of it's magnificent view of the lake from the house, it's very unique white sand beach, and it's expansive "bay-like" shoreline. We have poured a tremendous amount of energy into the property, to enhance this naturally beautiful setting, and to provide you with a superb place to relax and enjoy Lake Murray.
The Unique Benefits at this House
The adjoining wooded peninsula to the east and the small wooded island to the north provide a natural isolation barrier for the property, forming your own private "bay area" - hence the name Bordeaux Bay. When you are outside in the yard, on or by the beach, the whole "bay" is there for you to soak up and enjoy.

Great place for a truly enjoyable family vacation! We’ve come back several times now…..just love it. The view of the lake from the huge family room windows, the back deck, and the covered porch is just outstanding. Large floating dock, pergola sitting area, and fire pit by the water provide lots of entertainment. Watching the osprey family that nest in the tree right beside the house was great fun. House and property are very clean and well maintained. Their private beach is a very special treat. Nice, clean natural lake sand with no mud or weeds – very unusual for Lake Murray. A portion of the beach is shaded by a huge tree, allowing you to sit there and soak it all up for hours on end. Just wonderful!!
Recommended for:Romantic getaway, girls getaway, age 55+, families with young children.

My family and I stayed at Bordeaux Bay for Masters week and we loved it. The house was very clean and provided all the amenities we were looking for. We took full advantage of the bbq grill and fire pire. Great vacation.
