I wrote a little something in your guest book but wanted to thank you ( Deb and Phil) again for letting us stay in your condo! It was a bonus to meet you both as well while we were there! The condo is in a perfect location close to the pool, across the street from a beautiful beach and was well equipped with everything needed to make our stay feel like home. The only neggative things were the floors didn't feel clean but someone said it might be the kind of flooring or grout work since the dirt comes up from underneath? The tub wasn't cleaned that well but I noticed when I cleaned it it took awhile since the water drained slow and maybe it was a timing issue? The bed took a little getting used to since it had a foam topper on it and we have a pillow top at home but we didn't lose any sleep. The dryer had a bunch of sand in it but it wasn't a problem wiping it out. On the possitive side the street noise wasn't a problem at all. The price was very reasonable for the location and the lovely tropical decor.The bedroom has such a nice breeze blowing through and the fan over the bed was nice to have. The ground floor is great because of the roomy patio and it was convenient being close to the pool and the barbeque area. My 80 yr old mother loved the condo because she didn't have to walk far to get to the pool or the car. Would I reccomend this unit to my friends and family? Absolutely!

We recently spent three weeks in Maui. It was our second time to this Island - we have been to Waikikii 5 times before. During this visit we decided that we will definitely be back to Maui next year for our annual trip. We love the Mau Vista Condos. We had actually met the owners of the unit we rented the last time we were there. One thing we found out at the Maui Vista is that it is either "hit" or "miss" with the unit you get. The first experience was disappointing as the unit was very dated and not clean. We scoured the property on our first visit and found this unit when we met the owners who just happened to be in Maui at the time. Our visit back has definitely made us realize how much we enjoy Maui and all the island has to offer. Our opinion is that you don't need to rent a car for your entire stay. Watch out as the major car rental places charge you a huge amount. That can be frustrating. We will only rent from a local car place we found close to the Maui Vista on our next stay. Things to do are definitely whale watching, the local restaurants are varried and have great food and the service always good. We love the fact that Costco is only a few blocks from the Airport (food similar to Canadian prices; booze is cheaper than buying milk in Canada). Lots of people from both B.C., Alberta, & Saskatchewan that we meet and feel at home with. The best thing is that you don't have to feel pestered like you do in Mexico. Only one time to Mexico to an all inclusive -- never again. We love Hawaii and it's people and feel very SAFE there. Sorry for the bad wrap Mexico, but you get more bang for your buck in Hawaii; PLUS the tequilla doesn't make you sick. I'd rather pay for what I get and know that I enjoyed it rather than make a glutten of myself just to feel like I got my money's worth. Definitely recommend this property. New owners taking over this property; I'm sure they will give you the same great service as the last ones did. Mahalo!!!!!

Deb, I wanted to let you know we had an absolutely wonderful time in Maui. Your condo is fabulous and love the location - so close to the beach (as we spent most of our time there)!! I was going to comment in your guest book but then forgot to do it before we left. Weather was great also - no sprinkles or rain at all. Other than not going to Hana, we traveled from South Maui to West Maui, snorkeling along the way and seeing all the beaches. Just absolutely love it there. Have fun when you go in a few weeks, and thanks again for letting us stay there!

Hi Deb, I've been meaning to email just to say thanks and that we had a great time. Your home was very very clean and well prepared for all our needs. The location close to the beach and pool was excellent. My youngest son got married during our trip and the beach wedding was special. It was fun that over half of the 45 people who came to the wedding stayed in the Maui Vista's Condo's. We left some brochures on the board for future renters. I replaced a beach towel because my husband left yours out on a scuba charter. I left the receipt with the towel in the closet in case you want to change it. We also left a snorkel kit in the closet to add to your cache. The TV worked great for viewing the Olympics during the hot middle of the day. So once again, thanks a lot.

This was a mom and daughter trip. We had a great time at this condo. It had everything we needed. Great location, comfortable bed and everything we needed to feel at home. It is a little dark in the hall way to access door, even in the daytime. It is a little noisy in the morning due to being right by the street, but it didn't bother us. I would recommend this family and friends. Thank you

Owner response: Mahalo, Sherri! I totally agree with the lighting issue. I have asked the complex to install motion sensor lighting to assist in that. It really wasn't an issue until our property management went with a coded locking system instead of a key. So glad you enjoyed your stay, tho! We are headed back over in October and can't wait! I loved this location, walking distance of anything you can think of! This condo was clean, had everything we needed and more! Lots of beach supplies, even a cooler not to mention all the kitchen supplies. It was on a walkway and you could hear people talking as they walked by during the day. But there is a quiet time enforced at 10pm, we never had any problems with loudness. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

"Well it was everything we were looking for and more. I loved the location and the bed was very comfortable. We did get a couple of racks to BBQ fish on and a couple of larger plastic containers that I use for making Mango/pineapple salsa. Hope others can use them. I visited the other couples places (also in Maui Vista) and felt that the place we had was above and beyond what they had. If their was one thing that could be improved it would be the keyed lock on the front door, you really had to jiggle it to get the door unlocked. I could see where this might be a problem for some people. I would rent your place again and recommend it to my friends. Thank you,"

We stayed in this condo when we got married in Maui and it was a perfect place to be right across the road from the beach, complete with boogie boards! We especially liked being on the ground floor when we had our luggage, food shopping or beach stuff to carry! We really did not want to leave! We hope to come back one day and Deb the owner is so friendly so its easy to book, and the management company on Maui really helpful.

The condo is very well equipped, lots of beach gear so you don't have to rent any. The owner is a lovely person, very obliging and quick to respond to any queries. She even phoned in the middle of the night when we had the Tsunami warning to check on us. We had no problem with noise at night as there is a double glazed window in the bedroom and the bedroom is not on the street. The condo property is well kept and the management very nice to deal with. The beach is excellent for swimming and so close and convenient to walk to just across the street. Lots of good restaurants and food shopping within walking distance and bus service all over the island too.

Recommended for: People with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

Mahalo Deb and Phil. We loved our stay at your condo in Maui! (May 16-23) Everything was perfect. The bed was super comfortable we didn't really notice very much noise. We appreciated being able to use the chairs and boogie boards in the hall closet. We loved the close access to the beach across the street. It was so convenient. We ate our breakfast on the lanai. All the little special touches to the place make you feel at home and we will definitely stay there again when in Maui. We have already recommended your place to friends. Thanks again!

We stayed at Deb and Phil's condo from April 19-26, 2010. The condo itself is as described by others. And it is directly across the street from a beach. What you should know is that it's a V-E-R-Y busy street, and the patio is about 30 feet from it. The bedroom is on the other end of the condo, fronting the walkway that everyone uses to traverse from the parking lot to the elevator of this building (usually while talking loudly). No insulation (and the louvers are usually open), so even someone walking in flip-flops woke me up. Maddening! I might consider this complex again, but I would move to building 2 or 3 away from the street.

Owner response: Alas, as is described in our listing, we are a front row condo and with that does come some noise. Unfortunately some people are more affected by it than others. After the first day we tend not to notice anymore, as many previous guests also mention.

Aloha Deb n' Phil. We had such a good time during our 12 night vacation at your condo. Maui Vista is a clean, well managed, safe and secure condo complex. Great location in Kihei, right across the street from the nicest beach. In addition to answering all e-mails right away, Deb provided us with "Late check in" instructions which worked out nicely. Being on the ground floor is nice, and you can park your car just steps from the door. Everything about this condo is as described. We found it to be clean and it lacked nothing, and the owners encourage renters to let them know if there is anything that could be added. Stay at Deb n' Phils when you are visiting Maui, you won't be disappointed! Greg and Linda Young

Thanks Deb & Phil for your hospitality! You have a little gem there in Kihei! You were so right about the location - so close to everything. We absolutely loved being across the street from Charley Young Beach. My husband, Charley, started calling it his own! tee hee Thanks for all your hints and tips on hikes, restaurants and drives. We did visit the Kula Lavender Farm like you suggested and were NOT disappointed. Our neighbors are interested in going to Maui and we are definitely going to recommend your lovely condo. p.s. Hi Everyone! Deb and Phil's condo in the Maui Vista (#1116) is NO KA OI! We had a wonderful stay. The condo was immaculate and very convenient to all the Kama'ole beaches and Kihei/Wailea. Every night we would walk the Kama'ole's down to the tide pools near Mokapu Beach and catch the sunset on the way back. It was simply magical. The kitchen also saved us a bundle of money by preparing our own food. We ate out only 2 times during our 2 week visit. (We had to try the Kihei Cafe for breakfast and it didn't disappoint!) Thank you again!

The location of the Maui Vista couldn't have been better and having an amazing beach with a local vibe right across the street couldn't have been more perfect for those days you didn't feel like driving anywhere. The chairs, umbrellas, boogie boards and sand toys made our beach days fun and comfortable. Your place was extremely clean and well cared for, very homey indeed. The internet connection, and TV/DVD player were a bonus with a toddler. We loved that we could cook at home rather than eating out all the time. I'm probably glowing with the amount of mercury I consumed, the Ahi Tuna at CostCo was too hard to resist. We really appreciated all the kitchen stuff and enjoyed many great meals. We loved Maui so much we will definitely be back. We would all like to thank you for your "cyber hospitality." Your suggestions were really helpful, greatly appreciated and made our trip one we will never forget. Corresponding with you this past year has been fun! I'm a little slow in writing this but better late than never. We stayed here at the end of Oct/09 and had an amazing time. The condo was great and in a good location. It is on the ground floor and very close to the main street so the noise factor may be to much for some people but for us it really wasn't an issue. The closet of beach things was wonderful and while we did not add any beach items we did leave a car booster set for future guests to use so hopefully it is still there as it was much cheaper to buy it then rent one for the car rental company. I really don't know what to say about the condo except it was just perfect for us and we are hoping that we can return in the very near future. Thanks Deb & Phil for the use of your condo.

Hello Deb and Phil! I just have to tell you that we had the most amazing time in Kihei!! Your condo is soooo cute and very conveniently located to everything. It was everything that we hoped it to be! We really appreciated all the nice upgrades and especially the closet full of beach things - that was awesome! I must thank you for your prompt responses to our emails and for providing all the information we needed prior to our trip! Your tip about buying "Maui Revealed" was spot on! Our new vacation bible! haha So, thanks again for making our visit such a memorable one, we SHALL return!

Aloha Deb & Phil! Thank you so much for the use of your awesome condo! It made our anniversary trip just perfect. We compliment you on the careful touches you have made to make your condo so homey. We felt very comfortable there. (we wish we were STILL there! haha) True to your headline, just like home but better, it really was! BUT, we don't have the warm pacific ocean across the street! :-) Thanks again for your friendly and warm assistance in renting your home. We're still amazed that we only spent $95 a night for a fully equipped home! Wow, we're never staying in a hotel again! ha! We hope to return in the future.

Aloha guys!!We want you to know that we had the time of our lives in Maui. Your condo is the BEST!! Kihei is a wonderful place and the beaches were amazing and so so much fun. Love the décor in your place. It was so relaxing and we just loved every moment we were there. Thank you for the aloha. Loved the convenience of Charley Young Beach SO CLOSE - NICE mmmm I have to commend you both on all the work you have done.. The upgrades you made have been very much appreciated. The washer and dryer were a huge bonus...The building is in good condition, the grounds were neatly kept, the pools fine, tennis courts and the BBQ pits were very well maintained/cleaned and very convenient. This is a large complex but I think overall it is well maintained. Again, hats off to you both for the work and vision you have of your little island getaway. The touches you have added to make it a warm and cosy home to go to, because that is what it becomes when you visit for any length of time.. It's NOT a hotel it IS a home. and thank you for sharing it with us."

We loved your little island paradise. It was a perfect location, well kept and very cute! WE LOVED the beach across the street…we especially loved going down at sunset and watching the people ….gives me goosebumps thinking about it. I cannot believe I am back in California….it all seemed like a dream!

Wow! We really enjoyed ourselves in your condo! Being on the ground floor was a plus, especially with the larger lanai. We watered your plants! Also helps when carting in groceries. The appliances are very nice and you've made the condo really homey. We felt like we were at home. Hopefully we can visit again! :-)

A review from Trip Advisor: Everything we needed, and more! We just returned from a week stay at the Maui Vista in #1116. The condo was everything we needed and more. It was spacious, clean and had all the amenities we needed. The grounds are very nice. The A/C and ceiling fans kept the condo cool and comfortable. The washer and dryer were a plus. We were in the first building, ground level and just across the street from the beach. There was some street noise, the sprinklers did come on at 2:00 A.M. in the morning and the activities desk was just outside our bedroom, but we never lost any sleep from any of this. Restaurants and shopping were within walking distance or just a short drive from the condo. There was always plenty of parking outside of our building. Maui Vista is not a new place and is not a luxury establishment but a decent, economical place for couples or families to stay and enjoy the beautiful island of Maui! We would certainly stay here again! NOTE FROM OWNER: Since this review was left, we have new property management and we're happy to say that no longer do the sprinklers go off at 2:00 a.m.!! and the activity desk doesn't open until 9:00 a.m. :-)
