Two-story elevated beach house with Large covered deck and parking for vehicles underneath, Handicap access ramp to first level with 4" bump into house with entrance doors 36" wide. This house is NOT Fully Handicap accessible from with-in.
This Non-Smoking house is conveniently located with in walking distance to the beach (350 yards). The house contains One King Bed and Three bedrooms with queen Beds in each, the fifth bedroom has two each futons (each has one double and one single beds - bunk bed), and can sleep up to 14. Extra charge for over 14 people may apply, maximum of 16 persons.

I will start off by saying the owners of this property are very accomodating and trustworthy. However, the only thing handicap accessible about this house is the ramp to the first level, I am in a wheelchair and I could not get over the threshhold from the porch to enter the house and the doorways are not very wide, so we could not stay here once we arrived we had to scramble to find a new place to stay, but luckily the Porterfields were understanding and refunded us for the nights we didn't stay. Another issue we had was the house was not very clean and much more run down than the photo's show. Overall I would not recommend this property but again the owners are very nice people.
Owner response:Access Ramp to first level is what our sites states we have. The entrance doors to first level are are 36" doors and a 36" door for master bedroom that swings out to allow better access. With regards to cleanness of house the issue was dusty baseboards and carpet and tiled floor, this issue was taken care of during spring cleaning 4/27/10 at which time the entire house walls and trim has been painted and carpet cleaned and tile floors steamed. We take pride in our home and want other to feel at home also.

The "Pad" is a GREAT place to spend a relaxing vacation! Six of us guys spent four days during Bike Week here, and found the house comfortable, roomy, and well equipped. We started every day sitting in the rocking chairs on the porch drinking coffee, then ended every day relaxing in those same rockers telling tales. Thanks Porterfields, for sharing a great place!

We truly enjoyed our vacation at the Porterfield Pad. 3 familys and 3 grandmothers. Thank goodness for such a wonderful, large home. We were allowed to enjoy the beach, ocean and many other wonderful suites comfortably. Thanks to you guys one of our grandmothers from out of state got to see the ocean for the first time. She felt like a kid again. Thanks for opening your beach house.
