In under a minute you are on Thames Street. Cross Thames and you're on the docks. Turn left for shops and restaurants (Seafood, Thai, Tapas, Italian and many unique to Newport), the International Yacht Restoration School and King Park.
Turn right on Thames and within a four minute walk you're at Bowen's and Bannister's Wharves, the center of Newport's shopping and dining. Another 4 minute walk brings you into historic Washington Square, with movie theaters and more restaurants. It is the gateway to Broadway, Newport's row of eclectic restaurants.
Head east to Bellevue Avenue, Cliff Walk and Eastson's Beach.
