The cabin was great! We rented it for a week of hiking, horseback riding, and rafting, and it was a pleasure to have the space and accommodations waiting for us when we were done with the days activities. Anyone who has a big group of people that want to stay in the Breckenridge area needs to try this home. Thanks to the Martins for letting us share your little piece of heaven.

This spacious mountain cabin was a great place to celebrate our 45th anniversary with the family. Part of the time there were 16 of us there and we still didn't feel cramped for space. Were all able to set down and eat a meal together from the well stocked kitchen. The game room was wonderful for the boys to hang out in. Mom's and Dad's even got in on some pool tournaments and used the hot tub. The front porch was an awesome place to set and read or visit and listen to the mountain stream. You can explore mountain trails at your back door. Breckenridge was close by for those that wanted to shop or visit peak 8. The Martins were very easy to work with in planning our vacation. 6-10 to 17-07 Our family of 11- parents, children, grandchildren- were very comfortable in this beautiful cabin in the woods. The separated game room kept the main house serene and gave the children a place to call their own. The location is excellent, with a feeling of solititude, yet easy access to activities like fishing, hiking, Peak 8, shopping. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub too. We had a great family vacation!!!

Three families rented the Martin cabin for spring break--it worked out great. And we loved the fact that it was out of town just a bit, but easy access to the fun town of Breckenridge. Would definitely recommend this cabin to future renters. The hot tub was wonderful after a long day of skiing. Everyone enjoyed the stay!

The Martins are excellent hosts and the cabin is just fabulous. The cabin is one of those dream cabins in the mountains that make for a perfect family vacation. The game room is really a nice way for the kids to have fun while the adults watch TV in the main room! It was a great vacation in every way.

My husband rented this beautiful cabin as a surprise for my 40th b-day and arranged for my entire family to be there (MUCH to my surprise). Needless to say it was a vacation I will never forget and despite my husband tearing his ACL skiing, everything was perfect! The game room is awesome as well as the spa, the bed in the master is just gorgeous. Awesome cabin, thanks so much for allowing us to stay! Jay & Jana

What an amazing cabin! We couldn't have asked for a better place to get away with our family and friends. The layout is perfect, there's room for everyone to be together but still get away to relax. Pictures do not do it justice. The mudroom made playing outside in the snow so easy, especially with so many kids...no piles of wet clothes or muddy floors all through the cabin. And you really can sled down the driveway! We didn't have to load everyone up and find somewhere else to go. The location is perfect too, truly that "middle of nowhere" feeling but close enough to town to easily run for the things we forgot. We had one little problem with the water that, with one phone call, was quickly and easily remedied (not like some places we've been...). Of the cabins we've vacationed in, this was by far the best. Highly recommended, we'd be delighted to have the privilege of staying here again!

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Another wonderful trip. This year, we got snow, and there's just nothing better than sitting in the hottub and watching it fall. The cabin was cozy, and there was plenty of space for everyone to get together or relax alone. We took so many pictures, we're still sorting through them.

Dave, What a grand place to celebrate the 30th anniversary of one's 30th birthday ! Our family of 15 with 5 kiddos had a glorious time in your secluded aspen grove. We expected 55 degree weather and received snow, which made the hot tub all the more joyful. The Octoberfest in Breckenridge was much fun. The layout of your cabin is more than spacious. Thank you for sharing your home as the perfect venue for a Colorado get away for the family to focus on ourselves and the mountains. John & Molly Smolen

Everything was perfect! From the cozy/rustic interior to the afternoon thunderstorms enjoyed on the front porch. We hiked spectacular mountain trails over 13,000 ft and relaxed our tired bones in the hot tub when we returned. Your cabin is the quintessential setting for any mountain vacation. Thank you for the opportunity to stay in your mountain home.

Thanks Dave, We had a great family reunion at your cabin. Although it rained nonstop we still found plenty to do and hikes, and plenty of good fishing holes, we just wore ponchos. It was close enough to Breckenridge that we were able to run into town easily. Our only problem was the lack of water in the upstairs bathroom and also there were no locks on the master bathroom. Thanks again. We will probably be back. Nadine & Don Rolfson

Dave and Kelly, Thanks again for sharing your home with our group. It exceeded our expectations. The seclusion and amenities were more than enough to keep thirteen 30+ y/o males perfectly content for three days. I recommend this listing to any vacationers heading to the beatiful state of Colorado. I plan on contacting you again for several upcoming events and would not stay anywhere else. Thanks again - Jeff Tullos and friends

This cabin was everything and more! Our family had gotten away from taking our annual spring break ski trips when my grandmother (who usually footed the bill for the accomodations) passed away. But I think this really showed us how much we really enjoy the family time. My brothers and sisters-in-laws amd mom and dad as well as my husband and all the kids had a great time. We had enough space to get away from each other if we needed to, as well as lots of space to be together. My mom had a bit of altitude problems, but she said it was still worth it to be up in the mountains with her kids. We had a curious animal eat some cheese out of a cooler that was inadvertantly left on the porch (had pop and drinks in it, but someone must have forgotten and put the cheese in there by mistake), so all the kids had stories of how a "bear" got into our cooler. (personally I think it was probably a raccoon, but who knows) Thank you so much for the use of you great cabin, we can only hope we can get up there to use it again. I would like to try the summer.

Mixed age kids - no problem with this great log cabin. We had from 3 high school kids and 4 little (5 & 3's) and this cabin was perfect. The older boys took over the game room. The layout of the cabin allowed us to all be together or to separate. The teens could hang out in the game room, the young kids in the master or the "extra room" off the laundry - allowing us adults to have some time for the great discussion adults have when they can just sit back and relax. We had four families and we loved the house. The view, though it does include seeing the peaks, was beautiful whether sun or snow. Take Dave's advice on four wheel drive as the driveway is steep. We did have one car in the group that was a van and it had no trouble on the access street as they plowed alot but the van couldn't get up the drive. There is parking at the end of the drive and it's only a short walk so we just loaded their stuff to other cars to pack/unpack. The kids loved the drive for sledding. We stationed someone at the bottom in case a car came which wasn't often. You feel truly off the beaten path in this house though just a short distance to the hustle/bustle of Breckenridge. Very relaxing. Would recommend the Peak 8 are for parking as plenty and never had to walk far to lifts even during this peak spring break time.

This was now our second Christmas we've spent in this beautiful log cabin. Christmas 2003 & 2005. It is very spacious, and we immediately felt right at home...again! It is close enough to Breckenridge and at the same time is very private since the forest surrounds it so that you do not see any other homes. The amenities are incredible, including the living room, game room and spa. We had a great time and we hope to come back soon!

To all prospective renters: We stayed in this home Thanksgiving weekend, 2005. I can't express enough our satisfaction with everything. We were extremely pleased to find that it was somewhat secluded up on the mountain, while still being only minutes from town. The house itself is a large log cabin, with wood beams and tasteful decor throughout. The huge game room was the perfect place to send the kids (two 5 yr. olds) to play, and they loved sledding down the driveway. The view from the front deck is breathtaking, and relaxing in the hot tub was the perfect end to our eventful days. We even had a fox come down the mountain each evening to visit, which was a constant source of entertainment. The kitchen was well stocked with all necessary items, though the oven could use a bit of updating. Was a little difficult to fit a large turkey in there! All in all, we couldn't have asked for a nicer place to spend our holiday. We would definitely stay there again, and would recommend it in a heartbeat to all who desire a beautiful rocky mountain retreat. Definitely 22 thumbs up!

All of the previous comments are true. The house is great with many spots to congregate. We had a group of 8 adults and 9 children and there was plenty of space to spread out. The town of Breckenridge was beautiful with lots to do but most of the kids preferred to spend their time in the house. One thing that wasn't mentioned was the great hiking right outside the house. Make a left out of the driveway and it's about a 4 1/2 mile hike to the top of French Gulch pass, one of the best hikes I've ever been on. All of our family agreed that this was the best location for a family reunion by far. Thanks for sharing your piece of paradise.

My family of five planned a reunion trip with two other families from CA. We had a summer (mid July) reunion so all the snow and skiing was not our goal. Breck had plenty of golf to offer for the guys and was close enough to many activities for the eight kids to enjoy. Three moms in one house could get tight but the layout of the house was so accommodating that we each had a bathroom to ourselves and to get the kids ready for the day or night ahead of us. Summer time fun was had around the fire pit when we enjoyed s'mores for dessert. It was the kind of "camping" I like. All the outdoor fun with hiking, creek walking, rafting, spelunking, horseback riding, swimming at the rec center and yet a comfortable place to stay at night with a flush toilet. That is my kind of "camping". We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, the house and the wild life. The chipmunks were plentiful, the fox visited us every night and morning that we cooked at the house, the deer were out and walking around when we were, and the birds were wonderful to watch since there were many different ones than we see in our area. The pictures on the web site give you the impression of a nice log cabin but the spaciousness was so comfortable, but the pictures can't show that. You have to experience that for yourself. Sincere Thanks, Casey & Perry Davis family St. Charles, IL Carol & Jerry McLaggan family San Jose, CA Kelly & Troy Strahl family Lommis, CA

Dear Martin Family, We had a marvelous time at your cabin. The pictures online don't display how wonderful it really is. It was so close to town, yet out peacefully secluded. I brought a group of 9 graduating seniors and 3 other moms. We had lots of activities planned and did them, but the kids wanted to spend every free moment at the cabin enjoying the great surroundings. Thanks for a memorable senior trip. Tisha

Even for the people that didn't go out to ski, board, tube, or snowshoe, the cabin was well stocked with games, movies, and of course the hot tub to keep everyone happy and rested. Great location, lots of space, and well maintained. Everyone had fun. Thanks for everything.

I spent this past New Years in the cabin in Breckenridge with some friends. The place is absoluletly wonderful. There is a number of games, which include Pool, Fooseball, board games, and a big hotub in back. Dave was extremely helpful from the beginning to end, even while we stayed at the cabin. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone interested in a great trip.

Dave and Kelly, Thanks so much for the use of your beautiful rustic cabin. The mud room was so useful after a long day of sking we didn't have to search for places to keep our ski equipment. The bedding worked out great for our large group. We also enjoyed your driveway for sledding a few times which gave us some great pictures. A group of friends & I rented the cabin to celebrate Thanksgiving and we had a FANTASTIC time. The cabin so beautiful and luxurious! Very cozy, yet spacious enough to easily accommodate large parties. There is plenty to keep everyone entertained with a hot tub, pool table, foosball, and of course the giant playground of Breckenridge is just a few minutes away. It was a pleasure renting from Dave Martin, he was extremely helpful and went out of his way to make sure we were comfortable & had everything we needed. I will absolutely rent the cabin again if I have the chance and recommend it to everyone!!

Nine of us met in Breckenridge for a week long vacation in August. We came from California, Minnesota and Ohio. The cabin was wonderful - the photo's on the website do not do justice! Thank you VERY much Dave for being so communicative and accomodating prior to, during and after our visit. Outside of my initial bout with high altitude sickness, our stay at the cabin was just a delight. If we lived in Colorado, this cabin would be a place we would visit on a regular basis. Thank you very much for the kindness - we've been telling other friends that they MUST visit your cabin!

We rented the cabin for an annual reunion with college friends. The cabin had plenty of space for 4 couples with room to spare. The kitchen and dining room were perfect for big meals!!! The guys loved the game room and spent a lot of time there while the girls caught up in the living room. The cabin was in a perfect location too ... secluded enough to be relaxing but close enough to explore the downtown area of Breckenridge. The Martins made sure we had everything we needed for a great reunion!!!

My Husband and I take our children and grandchildren on a family vacation every two years. We have never had so much good family time and fun all together, The cabin is out of this world. I would love to buy it and live there permanently. The grandchildren had never seen snow so at midnight colorado time ( fla time 3a.m.) We had to drag them in. They were making angels in the snow running all over outside . They had the time of their lives. There was plenty of room and the game room was great.I like to cook so I had brought all my big pans which I did not need. They have stocked the kitchen with everything you could need to cook on. The fireplace was fantastic as we do not have one here in the florida keys. I can not even begin to tell you all about the cabin. Even though we live on the water with a beautiful dock have lobster in back ,fish , shrimp I would sell it all and move to the Rocky Mt.log cabin. It was a dream vacation come true. The Martins are wonderful and very helpful I would love to spend some time there with my family in the summer and again in the winter. My children and my grandchildren all became very very good skiers. and when the snow fell we were just amazed. Before going, one of my granddaughters asked me if snow fell in balls. They were surprised the snow was so soft. Just writing this makes me want to pack up and go back to that wonderful, beautiful, cozy cabin THANKS TO THE MARTINS FOR THE VACATION OF ALL OUR LIVES. Jerry and Mercedes Potter P.S. We stayed a week and it was not enough.

Our experience with the Martins and the cabin was TERRIFIC!!!! The pictures didn't do it justice and he was SOOO helpful! My whole family went and we had a blast. My 5yr old son keeps asking "when are we going back?" The answer is "Soon, I hope". Even though I took a spill on the slopes, we still had the best time. Thanks!!!!!

Dave, We truly appreciate you letting us stay here for the week. This weas a very special and relaxing time for us all. We have always wanted to stay in a fully furnished log cabin in the mountains. The close locatio of the cabin to Breck allowed us to do many activities throughout the week. We would really get used to this was of life. Coming from Illinois, the climate and terrain change was very pleasant! Thanks for everything! Kevin & Cindy

Dave, Thank you for allowing us the use of your beautiful cabin. This was the 13th summer that our three families have gotten together for a summer vacation. Your house was definitely the most well equiped. Everything you could need is here. It was great & we had a lot of fun! Thanks again! Jay.

The cabin was fantastic. Three families stayed together and we had plenty of room. Especially with the game room over the garage. The boys were able to stay there and not have to put up with the rest of the family. The pictures just do not do the house and location justice. However, besides the beauty of the house and location, even more important to us was the way the Martins dealt with us. Although everyone wants perfection, its not always possible. However, the way the Martins dealt with it says more about the experience than anything else. We had a glitch but they made it right. They treated us fairly and we would definitely do business with them again and recommend the experience highly.

Wow! What a great place. We spent a week at Dave & Kelly's Rocky Mountain Log Cabin Get Away, and that is exactly what it was. Complete privacy and total relaxation. Our four families fit comfortably in this beautiful home. The night sky is unbelievable. Dave Martin is an excellent host and very easy to work with. Thanks Dave for providing the foundation to one of our best vacations ever. We will definitely be back!

Along with 3 other couples and our 10 children combined we spent a week in this cabin and LOVED it! Breckenridge is a GREAT place and the scenery is amazing everywhere you look. Couldn't have asked for a more relaxing yet exciting place to visit- the game room was excellent for the kids and the hot tub was enjoyed daily and nightly by both kids and adults!! We loved it at the "top of the world" in Breckenridge!! Thanks Dave and Kelly!

We just returned today from a week at this cabin. What a fantastic place!!! It is in a perfect location ... just a few miles from downtown Breckenridge yet seemingly miles away! The cabin has everyting including a really nice new gameroom above the garage. It's a great place for families & children. Lots of hiking and exploring oppertunities right outside your door. The owners are GREAT to work with and are VERY responsive and helpfull. TWO thubs up!!!!!!!

WOW! What a great place. I can't say enough about this wonderful cabin. My wife and I rented it along with several of our old highschool friends, and we had a fabulous time. We all try to vacation at least once a year together, doing something different each year. But something tells me we'll be repeating this vacation again and again. Although close enough to enjoy the nightlife of Breck, we never wanted or needed to leave other than our time on the slopes. Can't wait to do it again! - Mike & Heather P.S.- My friend's severe case of HAPE (High Altitude Pulmonary Edema) couldn't even ruin our stay at this cabin!
