Purple Palace is truly a ski in and out home. Sitting next to the ski bridge, you are connected to all pathways of the ski hill. Walk out your front door, pop on your skiis/boards and go. Purple Palace sits next to the main ski bridge and is steps from the new Alpine Meadows ski lift.
The home offers spectacular views from every room. Leather furnishings by a fireside offers relaxation after a day of activities on or off the mountain. The roof top hot tub provides panoramic views of the area and the star-studded sky at night. It is a wonderful way to unwind.
Just across the road is Tube Town, Brewers Pond and the Snowmobile tours. The Silver Star village is a short walk, where you will find restaurants, shopping and more. Horse-drawn sleighs are available for a ride around the area.
Summertime offers many wonderful mountain activities, like mountain biking and hiking. Lake Okanagan and Lake Kalamaka are only 20 minutes down the hill, right in Vernon. In nearby Armstrong is the wonderful outdoor Caravan Farm Theater. It is a lovely evening adventure.

- Mountain View : Beautiful views up the ski hill/mountain as well as across the ski hill and a territorial view down the mountain.
- Ski-In : You can ski down Christmas Bowl, Attridge, take the easy route (Criss Cross) or traverse across from the summit chair.
- Ski-Out : You step out the door and ski down the ski bridge to Silver Queen chair, which connects you to Comet chair or ski directly to Alpine Meadows chair.
- Communications
- Telephone : Local calls are free. A calling card is required for long distance calls.
- WiFi (Wireless Internet) : We share a password protected wireless connection with our home next door. The password is provided in the info notebook in the house.
- Suitability
- No Pets Allowed : There will be a $250 fee charged to your credit card for cleaning of animal fur if brought into the unit.
- Kid Friendly : We do offer some games, kid-friendly videos, a small booster chair and can provide a playpen if needed.
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters : There must be at least one adult 25 yrs or older to rent this unit. Children and teenagers need to be supervised.
- Smoking Not Allowed : There will be a $250 fee charged to your credit card for smoke removal if found smoking in this unit.

Two outstanding lakes, Lake Okanagan and Lake Kalamalka are both in Vernon. On Silver Star Mountain, there is a high altitude training center, rockclimbing wall, mountain biking, skiing and snowboarding, inner tubing, ice skating, and horse drawn wagon rides.

Awesome Ski and Out with Rooftop Hot Tub with Incredible Views
Great place to waterski, wakeboard or jet ski. Enjoy a day at the beach. Just a 25 minute drive from the house.
This crystal blue lake is one of the best lakes in the world. A wonderful place to play in the water or lay on the beach.
This outdoor theater runs winter shows in December where you are wisked around on horse drawn wagons, or enjoy a summer nights show at their outdoor venue. The plays are professional, and extremely entertaining. Only about a 40 minute drive from the house.
Enderby boasts they have the largest drive in movie screen in Western Canada. Enjoy family night in the summer where you can take the family for a double feature and pay one price per carload! Arrive early for a good parking spot. Bring the frisbee or tailgate party while you wait for the show to start.

This is our fifth year at Silver Star and 2nd in the Walkemeyer house. Nice and sunny for 4 out of 5 days here...Loved our time here at Walkemeyer's house. Thanks you for providing such a nice place to stay.

We stayed in this house 2 years ago...I love how we can ski in and ski out but I love the hot tub on the roof. I would look forward to staying here again!

We had the joyous occasion of spending our 2007 Christmas, with one another at the Walkemeyer house. We had a wonderful time...Best house, we had a fantastic time.

Our jaws hit the floor when we stumbled in at 11pm. Every room elicited squeals as we explored our home for the week. OK, Adam didn't squeal, it was more like "Oh Man!" I felt like a queen wiht th large kitchen, dishwasher, detachable spray faucet and laundry closet! Adam was in heaven with full access to TSN and ESPN. We had a great time mountain biking, hiking, sleepin in and hot tubbing under the stars. I saw 3 shooting stars in one night! Thanks for your faulous hospitality. We had a great 2nd honeymoon!
