Small price for luxury compound. The Carriage House is one of 3 cottages on Kanaha Beach estate. The Main House and the 3 cottages share the largest privately owned beach front property in Maui with 700 feet of Beach frontage. Very private and secluded, this estate is a true one of a kind.
On 4.1 acres of gated private property, this guest house of two stories comprises 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, open living area with full internet access and desk, dining area with equipped kitchen, outside patio and barbecue which provides for a great outdoor dining in the garden.
Ideal for windsurfing, surfing, kayaking, snorkeling and many more activities. Very private with magnificent views of volcano and ocean. Beautiful gardens.
Close to all services, shopping and restaurants. We are a few minutes from Paia and Kahului. Easily visible on Google Earth, we are located near the airport, on the beach at the end of the road. Although very close to the airport, the noise from the plane is not a problem. Many of our customers are repeat customers.
Located on a white sandy beach protected by an off-shore reef about 1 km out. The reef makes for great windsurfing or surfing. Trade winds are constant and usually pick up around mid-day.

This is the stuff of dream beach holidays. I could not imagine a more picturesque setting. The grounds were superb. It was a 50 metre grassed walk from our door to our own private beach - and it is the most beautiful beach we found in our whole time in Maui. It felt like we were in a deserted paradise yet Kahului town centre was only a 10 minute drive away and Paia about the same. Fantastic! This place would suit anyone from a romantic getaway to a family holiday to a boys' week of watersports. One general con: The airplanes are heard but they are not that frequent and after the first few suprises we accomodated to them easily. One specific con: The ocean here was a little too choppy for our 2 small kids (<5 years old) to have unrestrained freedom in the water; This is not a still-water beach. But that was fully our misunderstanding of what to expect and not a criticism of the property description. If you have young kids then do consider this (although ours still had barrels of fun in the sand and in the wash). If you have older/teenage kids they will love it. Bring your camera!
Recommended for:Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, tourists without a car, adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, people with disabilities, families with young children.

We chose to stay here based on it's proximity to the airport and to the town of Paia. After a long flight entertaining a one year old, nothing beats a 5-10 minute cab ride to your bed, not to mention our own private beach! The property is gorgeous, with a beautiful tree house to hide out in, hammocks in every nook, and breathtaking views of the ocean right outside your bedroom door. We even saw a whale breaching on our first day here! The accommodations are very nice, comfortable and clean. I especially appreciated the soft, clean sheets and fluffy pillows. The caretaker is helpful and nice. There were lots of toys for us borrow, like a little paddle boat and boogie boards. We were extremely comfortable and happy throughout our stay in the Carriage House. The only downfall is the noise from the (very) occasional plane flying in, but they were so far and few we hardly noticed it. That's the price you pay for being so close to the airport, but truly it was not that noticeable. I would HIGHLY recommend staying here, and we will without doubt look to stay here again someday.

We're back in DC now after a fabulous time in Maui. I told Bill that I think it was the best vacation ever. The house worked out perfectly for us between the location and the place itself. Mark and Cari loved being able to just walk out the door and go kiting and David did some surfing. It turned out that Mark knew the people in the beach cottage from kiting in Hood River. Of course the best part for us was hanging out with the two babies, 8 months and 11 months old. You may hear from us again.
