La Conner cabin description
Cozy waterfront cabin with sleeping loft and extra bed in living area (futon). (Please click on 'video' in upper left corner). Stunning sunsets from this delightful waterfront cabin located amongst graceful Fir trees and Madronas - home to Eagles, Osprey, Woodpeckers, ducks, seagulls and seals. Take a walk down the unique, hand-hewn driftwood stairs to the rocky beach, or build a fire in the fire pit and relax while watching the sun set over Hope Island, the Tonkin Islands and Whidbey Island. One guest said, 'This is like living in a National Forest on the water.' And now, we can offer eco-friendly boating on Skagit Bay, the Skagit River and Deception Pass. Please inquire with Property Manager.
This is the perfect setting for romance or a quiet best-friends getaway. There is nothing quite so pleasant as sitting around the firepit, rain or shine, watching the sun dip below the island-studded waters of Skagit Bay, grilling steak or roasting schmoors.
Inside, the loft hosts a double bed. Additional sleeping area is in the combination kitchen, living-room on a comfortable double futon - all with views to the water through the native-landscaped yard.
The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. The best of the Pacific Northwest: tall Firs, Madronnas, and Cedar trees filled with birdlife.
When you have had enough relaxation, it's only five minutes to downtown La Conner, known for its antiquing, fine restaurants and local artists.
So, bring your s'mores and hot dogs, jeans and flip-flops for a day (or a week) at the beach. Step back to a tranquil and simpler place and time.
We are kid and pet friendly, but not kid or pet-proof. We are not responsible for accidents on property.

nice relaxing stay
nice relaxing stay
We had an enjoyable stay for two nights at the driftwood. The weather was exceedingly blustery, but the fire and (overcast) view of the water was relaxing. Our dog enjoyed playing on the beach and we came away very satisfied with the cabin and the experience as a whole. Thanks for a great place to stay.

Love the view from the loft!
Love the view from the loft!
Cozy little cabin with a great view of the Skagit Bay. The loft has a great circular window overlooking the bay that you look out when you wake up! This place really has everything you need, including washer and dryer in the basement. Loved the beach access and indoor gas fire! The only downside is the bed is only a queen and the bathroom is tiny.

Manager response: Thanks Jeff. Hope to see you again. Take care, Judy
Just what I had hoped for...comfortable, scenic and with a well equipped kitchen. Cooked several nice meals on the indoor stove and outdoor grill. Very quiet - had no trouble sleeping in the comfortable bed. The loft is a little bit challenging to climb into (and down from), if you are not of sound body and mind. I would go back again.

Excellent weekend getaway
This quiet, cozy cabin was great for a short, 1-night getaway, though we hope to return for a longer visit in the future! Lovely location. Perfect distance from La Conner.

Location and View!!
Location and View!!
We stayed in this cabin July1st thru the 4th 2013. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to other couples. This cabin is small, simple, comfortable, not luxurious, but met our needs. The highlight of this cabin is the view. Big windows facing the water and easy access to the rocky beach below. We really appreciated being able to bring our dog, she loves the beach! Things to note: bathroom/shower is small, but water is hot and pressure is good. Bed is a bit small but comfy. Full sized refrigerator. Easy temp control with gas fireplace, warms up fast, and remember heat rises so the loft will be warmer! Bring earplugs!! While the neighbors are very quiet, the nearby Whidbey Navy Air Station is not, and jet can roar late into the night. Pictures are accurate. Judy was quick to respond to our inquiry and easily added a night at short notice. Also location is close to La Conner(5min drive) and easy access to Anacortes and Deception Pass(about 1/2 hr drive).

Hobbit House!Guest comment entered by manager
We checked in on Sunday 9/23/12 and here it is - our check out day. Bummer! We drove over from Flathead Valley, Montana through smoke so thick you couldn't see a mile. Got here to clear air, a beautiful warm and friendly, La Conner. We found the "Driftwood"... almost a hobbit house.... Nice spot to recuperate from a busy life. We've enjoyed ourselves (me and my girlfriend/wife of 47 years). Calico Cupboard was good - but so pricey!! Oyster Bar was real good. Met a new best friend "Bob Skeele". Sorry about Joan. He's a La Conner treasure for sure. Judy, come by our "casa" in Montana and enjoy our vacation spot... We will be back.

We had a fabulous weekend at this sweet little spot. We hiked to the beach and had a glass of wine at sunset, we lounged in bed, watched the tide, read books, snuggled and talked in the breakfast nook. Town is a 7 minute drive away - we dined at Nell's and Kerstin's.

We really enjoyed the view and the amenities. Very nice. Everything was thought through. The listing is accurate, the owner was helpful, and the photos make me miss the place already. La Conner, WA is minutes away, with nice shops and restaurants. A few more minutes to Anacortes. Make sure to understand the rate details.

Perfect for a Quiet Getaway
Perfect for a Quiet Getaway
I wanted a secluded and beautiful spot for a quiet solo retreat from the world, and this cabin worked out perfectly for me. The location is gorgeous, and the large windows lining the wall that faces the bay are fantastic. The view is beautiful from every vantage point in the cabin. Very quiet, I rarely saw or heard another person for the entire week. The cabin itself was small but truly the perfect size for me, well laid out and had everything I needed. Not a luxury cabin, but well above rustic, it’s very charming, comfortable and clean. A bargain at the price. The property manager was fantastic to work with, very responsive, attentive and ready to help. I would happily return and recommend the property to friends.
