Come experience St. Simons Island at Valentine Cottage, our little slice of heaven a mere 2 blocks from the ocean. Once you park your car you may not use it again until it is time to head home. Valentine Cottage is a wonderful haven to kick back and enjoy. It is a single level home filled with fabulous architectural features, beach friendly spanish tile and heart pine floors, chic, fun, and most of all comfortable décor. When you enter the foyer and kick off your shoes you will be as comfortable as home. The living room's bright and cozy seating, ideal for conversation, is just the beginning of the experience. Our dining room with seating for 10 is perfect for gathering with friends and family. We have a fully equipped kitchen so your only need is food and beverages. The den has a cozy fireplace, plasma TV (as if you are going to watch it), wonderful seating, and overlooks the lushly landscaped private back yard and spa pool.
All five bedrooms are comfortably furnished with four bedrooms having private baths and a fifth bath in the hall. Our owner's retreat is furnished with a cozy king size bed separate steam shower, jetted spa tub for 2, and double vanity. The office is equipped with wireless internet and printer, just in case you need to get a little work done. Spacious enough you will never feel crowded yet cozy enough you won’t loose anyone.

Why the Owner Chose Private Homes
We bought our house in 2006 because we loved St. Simons as our favorite vacation spot. It is a versatile island with year-round activity and incredibly lush landscaping.
The Unique Benefits at this House
Our house is 4000 square feet and all one-level with a playroom/bonus room upstairs. It is all Spanish tile and heart pine throughout. The kitchen is ideal for entertaining. There are two living rooms, which are great for large groups. We have a library/play area complete with a Jr. pool table for the kids---and the kid in the adult, too! The bedrooms are all generously sized with comfortable furnishings and linens. The location can't be beat. We bike and walk everywhere!
Large, oceanfront Hotel and Resort. Starbucks is inside for those of you who are coffee lovers!
World's best crab cakes and good southern veggies. Great family-friendly atmosphere.
Amazing public pool (small entrance fee) with something for all ages, putt-putt, great playground, and picnic area. Make an afternoon/evening of it!

Great little inn with a fun nightlife---live music and great cocktails.

We love St. Simons so much, but with the age of our children, we just simply cannot get to the house as much as we would like, so we have decided to rent the house some. My husband and I have three beautiful, wonderful, growing children, and we are active in our hometown of Athens, GA. Go dogs!

An absolutely incredible house! It really exceeded our expectations. Our first clue that we had stumbled on a cottage that was unique and different was at the front porch. I have always loved the quality and history of older homes.. The door appears to be the original! When you enter the house, the main hallway has stunning heart of pine floors, the ceilings are 10 -12 ft high, offering a very open feel.. This cottage has retained the best of old materials and construction but has the added convenient of a total rebuild!! The flow of the house offers incredible separation and allow plenty of room for large families. The kitchen has 2 separate areas, which we loved.. very convenient.. The backyard was meticulously landscaped with a nice yard, great for our litte dog Scooter! The Spa was also a desirable hangout. . We actually relished not have T.V.s in every room. Time was better spent reading, connecting with family, playing games or taking walks or just resting. The location was primo, a easy walk to either the beach or the village! Incredible and responsive owners... very friendly, quick to respond and genuine. We can not say enough good things about our stay.. I would highly recommend....Alot larger than it looks... the pictures really do not do it justice!!!

Our family, including 4children, 6grands & 2 Gr. Grands +in-laws enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving in this lovely St. Simons home. The photos do not do this home justice. Beautifully maintained with unbelievable room to spread out so we never felt like we were all on top of @ other. Lovely backyard with great in ground spa which heated quickly & was enjoyed every day. All was as described by the owner, an easy walk to the sea & 5 min drive to shopping & restaurants. Sarah is very accommodating. If you are looking for a charming & comfortable home to bring family or several couples & enjoy this great area of Georgia, look no further. Sadly our only day trip was Jekyll Is. Driftwood beach was a great scavenger hunt for the children the rest enjoyed the beautiful historic area. The new park & lighthouse of St Simon's was a close at home adventure. Still so much to see, we look forward to a return visit.

We have one flat screen in the family room and a TV that is for DVDs and videos in a bedroom. We are not big TV people, so it's not something that we thought too much about, but it is on our plan to add another TV or two for those of you who are! Sorry!

My husband and I enjoyed every minute of our 4 days at this darling home! It's WAY bigger than it looks, completely comfortable and homey, yet classy and SO beautifully decorated, and this is coming from a professional interior designer. We spent most of our time in the backyard paradise! It was just the two of us, but we can't wait to go back with our extended family. We'll have plenty of room for my brother's family and our parents. We loved how close it was to the beach and the village. We walked or took our bikes everywhere and never even used our car except for a grocery store run. HIGHLY recommend!

10 adults and 5 children made this our home for a fun filled trip to St. Simons. The house is very accommodating for large families with all the bedrooms, baths, two kitchens and two living areas. We all enjoyed the beautiful backyard. The spa/hot tub was the best we had ever seen. A great vacation home close to many restaurants and the beach.

We have made the Valentine Cottage a yearly beach adventure!!!!! The location is FABULOUS!!!!! We have a house that accomodates 12 with people with the bestest of comfort!!!!!! The dining rom allows us to celebrate being together and the the diversity of the house plan allows us our space.
