Beautiful Lodge

We had a family get away Jan. 2010, there was lots of snow on the ground and it was beautiful. Kendall was very helpful and sweet. The kids loved the WII and the black bears through out the house. The lodge was very cozy and warm. We were able to see the wonderful deer and we also went sledding on the sledding hill!! A great get away.

My family just spent an amazing New Year’s vacation at the Mkateewa Bear Lodge. The highlight of bidding farewell to 2009 and welcoming 2010 was definitely being in the mountains of Colorado nestled in a beautiful cabin. We found the cabin even more beautiful than the description on VRBO and could not have asked for more. When we arrived we were welcomed by a warm fire and fresh homemade cookies that my family enjoyed all week. We were also greeted by a most friendly neighbor named Ron who assured us that if we needed anything all we had to do was call. The family greatly enjoyed hiking through the snow in the beautiful trees surrounding the cabin as well as sledding at the community park in spite of the subzero temperatures. Any family would be hard-pressed to find a better place to spend a vacation especially if you are searching for a special spot in a remote location. Thanks again for everything.

THANK YOU!!We had a wonderful stay and we are looking forward to coming back again!! The directions to the property were perfect and when we arrived it was so nice to enter the home with that nice fire going and the homemade cookies sent that warm and fuzzy feeling all over us!! We all gathered around the nice big table in the kitchen to play games and enjoyed the beautiful views from each and every window. We spent several hours just wondering through the woods and going on “discovery walks”, the weather was perfect. We also enjoyed meeting Susan, that was so sweet of her to take the time out of her day to come visit us and we also loved meeting Ron and Carol from next door. It is great to get out in the “wilderness” but it is also great to have someone close at hand to help you if you are in need!! Our son drove up on Friday with his wife and child and he did not realize his gas gauge was so low, thank goodness for Ron!! He came to the rescue with a 5 gallon tank of gas so they would have plenty of gas to make it to the next gas station. That certainly made me feel better!!We were so pleased and thankful that Second Home Second Chance made our holiday weekend so perfect, we will have to start taking these outings more often!
