Brand New ocean view villa with a beautiful bay view and a 7 minute walk to Dominicalito beach. You can hear the ocean from this mountain-side villa and enjoy the breeze from aloft! The Costa Rican wildlife is abundant, especially in the morning when the birds are singing. It is not uncommon to spot a tucan or other wildlife while sitting under the palapa next to your private pool.
Each bedroom (located on the lower level) has a queen size bed , a balcony (with an ocean view) and it's own bathroom with his/her sinks (one bathroom has a shower/tub and the other just a shower). The laundry room and a small living area is also on the lower level. The upper level consists of the kitchen, dining/living area and half bath...and don't forget the views, views, views! The wrap-around balcony and patio (complete with pool) is right outside the sliding doors on the upper level.

Maid service is included with your stay.
Also, if you are renting a vehicle, it is advised that you rent a 4WD. The villa sits on a steep hill and most of the roads off the main highway are unpaved. Therefore, a 4WD would be best.

Why the Owner Chose Dominical
We chose Dominical after looking into Mexico, Belize and down the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica because of the "surf" town and affordability. It really reminded me of Lahaina, Maui 30 years ago. It is very "untouched". You won't find a McDonald's in Dominical...at least not yet.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa
You can walk to Dominicalito beach in about 7 minutes and also explore the area and try to find one of the local "swimming pools"(it's a small waterfall/pool nearby). Our management company is located right next to Canto del Mar and is called Tekoa Management. They will make your reservations and can also help with rental cars, excursions, and tours. We love to wake up to our wonderful view and hang out on the patio in mornings. We have our coffee and watch the birds while the younger ones swim. We eat breakfast at the villa or in town and usually discuss what we are going to do for the day. Some of our favorite things to do are Nauyaca Falls(kid friendly horseback ride), whale watching/snorkel tour, surfing, boogie boarding, exploring the many beaches, going to Manuel Antonio for the day, and finding great places to eat dinner!

We are a busy family with four kids. We live in a Northwest suburb of Chicago. My husband and I work in property management for our family company. We are very proud of all of our properties but this one is our "baby". Of course, the kids love it, too! We bought it as an investment property and hope to use it as our second home some day. We vacation there when we can with the kids or without. We hope to make many memories at our little Villa Vista Encantada(villa with the enchanted view)!

We knew Vacationing in Costa Rica would be a wonderful adventure. Our week in your Villa#197402 made it even more incredible than ever. I cannot imagine a home that we would have enjoyed more than yours. Loved! Loved! the private pool right outside on the patio. We spent many nights eating our dinner under your grass canopy next to the pool. So tropical with the breezy wind, singing birds, and plants galore! I also like that the bedrooms were separated from the main part of the house on a separate floor. Very cozy and quite for wonderful sleep. I would sit on the balcony for hours looking out at the Pacific and just taking in all the beautiful wildlife, colors and serenity. The little town of Dominical offered great eats and some local shopping. I loved visiting and playing in the many waterfalls, National Parks and Beaches and dining at some amazing restaurants I've ever been to. I would definately recommend this villa to all who would enjoy the best of Costa Rica.

We had a fabulous week at Villa #197402. My husband, sister and brother-in-law always go away for a week the end of April to celebrate our anniversary. The week went by real fast as we always stayed busy. It was so nice getting up in the morning and taking our coffee out to the balcony for the view, although it is seen from all the sliders in the living room/kitchen/dining room. My sister and I loved walking up the hill behind the villa (good exercise), we saw beautiful Toucans. We would jump into the pool upon our return and after lunch we would go exploring to the many locations listed by the owner. We bought local fish our first day and had a beautiful dinner under the patio Tiki Hut. The villa has a great location so close to the beach and the cute and friendly little town of Dominical which gets hopping after dark! The villa has a great floor plan with beautiful floors and granite countertops. A jewel in the jungle!!!!!

I walk too when we are there but usually I go down by the beach and around down by the waterfall. Next time I will be sure to go up. Funny, I haven't gone up from our villa since they were building. It seems since they have finished with most of the construction in Canto that a lot of the wildlife is returning. This past year we have seen some monkeys and a sloth from our balcony. Always lots of birds. I'm glad you got to see the Toucans! They are usually around in the early morning. And last I talked to one of my neighbors she told me there are also some cool frogs up the mountain trail. I will definitely be going to check out that path. Thanks so much for your review! Just wanted to let you know that we really enjoyed our stay at your villa from February 5, 2011-March 15, 2011. The views were fantastic and we loved how we could open up the whole house and let the wonderful breezes flow through. We ate every meal outside on the high top table and enjoyed the birds and wildlife with our morning coffee or evening cocktail! (The first week we saw white faced monkeys from the porch.) We spent time doing some of the many activities that are available in the near vicinity. Our guests enjoyed their time spent and also took advantage of all the things to do. We found restaurants that were nearby and really delicious. They ranged from basic Tico style restaurants to fancy French. The ice maker was really wonderful and it never ran out-no matter how hard we tried! We really enjoyed having the internet at the house. It let us keep in touch with friends and family. The only things missing were some beach towels and some way to play music. The villa was clean and the pictures on the web were accurate. The owner was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions and concerns. We would definitely recommend this villa to others.

We have just stayed in this beautiful villa for a full week and absolutely loved the experience. The owner is very helpful before your stay, answering any question you may have and gives you all kind of tips that will help you to get the most out of your holiday (where to eat, which beach to go etc). With the recently (1.5y ago) new road from quepos the drive from San Jose is a breeze (and very beautiful as well). The villa itself, has all the convenience one needs and is located in such a nice quite area, with an amazing view. Having breakfast in the morning or using their grill while overlooking the playa is def what we perhaps enjoyed the most! Would definitely recommend to anyone, who is looking to enjoy the nature of Costa Rica, surf the beaches of dominical and surrounding (which are great) or just wants to relax in an unique environment - and because of the great communication of the owner not only do you feel 'invited and welcome' but also adds the pre-trip enjoyment and make you look forward to the stay even more :-)

We stayed at this Villa for our anniversary in late February/early March and it was fantastic. The villa is spacious, comfortable, well-appointed and immaculate. We loved the incredible ocean views and hanging out on the balcony and patio by the private pool. Great location for exploring Domincal and nearby coastal communities. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a Costa Rican getaway!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our 3-weeks stay at Canto del Mar. The property owner and management staff were extremely helpful. The property was clean and provided the comforts and amenities that we were seeking including an incredible view of the ocean, close proximity to several beaches, restaurants and markets, and the privacy of our villa when we wanted it. The sunsets from the terrace and swimming pool area were magnificent. The surrounding tropical flora and fauna made us feel like we were in paradise. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we are making plans to return later this year.
