Spacious home with all amenities. 1/2 block from bus to downtown. Gorgeous garden patio. Well organized information papers. Loved cooking on the gas stove. A perfect base for our visit to San Francisco.
Owner response:The garden is just beginning to be full of color!!

We are originally from SF and live internationally now. This Apartment was just what we needed for our week long stay. It's quiet, in a good neighborhood, conveniently located, and extraordinarily comfortable. As someone who's originally from SF and been all over the world, this apartment comes highly recommended. It's a steal for the location and price. Thank you Karen and Laura! Amazing!
Owner response:Our primary goal in creating our VRBO apartment was to provide the kind of place Matt has described, with an emphasis on comfort.

I felt like I lived in Potrero Hill, in fact, if I ever had to relocate to San Francisco, I'd hope to nab this great apartment for a rental! I stayed for a week for work travel. This was a great option for me -- SO much better than staying in a hotel! The location was fantastic for city meetings, and I also had a good jumping off point for East bay and other meetings too. I really benefited from having Whole Foods, Pretzel's Yoga, the corner store, nail salons and Chez Maman nearby -- all within a short drive. The apartment was better than any VRBO I've ever rented -- the design and textiles were top-notch, the linens were plentiful and lovely, and the vintage white and neutrals were calming. I really appreciated having a fully stocked kitchen with paper towels, napkins, and the bath with a collection of toiletries, bath salts and lotions (yes, I made some additions to the "inventory"). It was also super CLEAN (and I'm a clean freak!) -- many thanks to the housekeeper who keeps everything in order. Much appreciated. As a single woman traveler, I also felt safe and secure, and appreciated that the owners live upstairs -- and they're super nice and even organized the parking permit. I even had a cat to pet when I sat in the lovely garden, and beautiful flowers too. What could be better? Highly recommended!
Owner response:Catherine found all of the wonderful things about Potrero Hill, and more!!

Our family stayed here for a nine day visit in July of 2011, and we would happily stay here again, and recommend the apartment to others. The owners are helpful and responsive, and the apartment is exactly as pictured. Though we didn't initially consider Potrero Hill, we fell in love with the neighborhood - do not miss Goat Hill Pizza on Monday evenings. The bedroom was lovely, and the convertible bed in the bright living room was perfect for our twin six-year-olds. Whole Foods only a few blocks away. Enjoy the hills!
Owner response:It is always nice to hear such positive reviews about the Potrero Hill neighborhood. It is definitely one of the hidden treasures of San Francisco.

This was our second time staying at this wonderful property. We were transitioning between Asia and the East Coast. We arrived after 27 hr. of travel. The place is so homey and perfect to get over jet-lag. The location is perfect, with endless parking, easy access to 3 Hwys, nice restaurants near by, including Trader Joe’s, and other major shopping just down the street. It was just as wonderful the 2nd time. We will be back when we come to visit family and need our own getaway. The owners are very nice, providing advice and guidance on the area, as well as providing you absolutely everything you would need to feel like your at home.

This is a beautiful, clean, light and bright apartment. The owners are pleasant, accommodating but unobtrusive. I enjoyed my stay very much and would highly recommend this apartment. I stayed 3 weeks in February and found it very comfortable and easy. One note of warning - this is a very hilly area so if you don't plan on hiking up and down S.F. hills, bring a car. It's a straight shot to downtown or the Mission and close to the freeways. Best deal I found and well worth it! It's easy to forget what a small town San Francisco really is.
Owner response:We have worked to make our apartment the kind of place we would want to stay. Sheila's kind comments reflect our success.

My Wife and I stayed in the apartment for 2 weeks in Feb. 2010. This apartment was perfect for our needs. It is as described and much more. A real home a way from home. The kitchen had everything you need to cook, and the dinning area and living room are wonderful and large. The internet worked perfectly and having a local phone was an added plus. We didn’t use the garden as it rained during our stay, but it looked very inviting. We rented a car and parking is abundant, a parking permit was organized by Karen. We also took the 19, 48, and 10 buses to the mission and downtown area. Potrero hill is the best neighborhood with fantastic access to the Hwy, S. Bay, East Bay and downtown areas. Just the views from the apartment and up the hill were worth the stay. We will be back, thank you Karen for making our stay so enjoyable.

We had a great time here, wish we could have stayed longer. The apartment was a perfect size for us and now when we return homes, we know what we are looking for in an apartment. It was so nice to come back from a busy day to a home-cooked meal and comfy bed. The buses took us wherever we needed to go. The milk and scones were greatly enjoyed on our first day. Thanks again. If we ever return and this is still available, would love to come back.

We're a little slow in leaving a comment but this apartment definitely merits praise! We stayed for one week at the end of June, and the trip was one of our absolute favorites! Karen was so helpful in providing suggestions and directions, and the apartment was the perfect home away from home -- maybe even a little better. :) Highlights included the garden patio (seriously...an oasis in the city), the claw foot tub (oh how I miss it) the market fresh fruit (seriously, why is everything better in California?) and the scones! Oh mylanta those scones were to die for! If you read this, Karen, and wouldn't mind sharing the recipe, we would be SO grateful. Bottom line...when we return to San Francisco this will definitely be our repeat vacation pad. Thanks!

My husband and I and our two school-aged children stayed in this lovely apartment for 6 nights. It was appointed in a comfortable, simple, and very attractive style. The bed was quite comfortable. We love the Potrero district: it's peaceful, quiet and sunny but has all the amenities of restaurants and stores close at hand. The owners were particularly gracious and went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We would happily stay there again and recommend it heartily to others. Thanks!

This large apartment is wonderful. The garden is delightful for coffee and the welcome scones and fruit. You can catch a bus within a block of the apartment for anywhere in SF, and restaurants are close. The owners are extremely professional. Everything is spelled out clearly, and they respond very promptly. Our stay was most excellent.

This has been our favorite vacation so far. The apartment gave us the real feel of living in S.F., which we hope to do someday. The apartment was lovely and in a perfect location - the 19 bus line got us just about everywhere. Thank you for the wonderful fruit, which lasted our entire trip. And the scones were amazing! Thanks for everything.

Thanks for your hospitality during our stay. I've absolutely loved staying here at your apartment. The interiors are to my taste, the backyard and scenery is beautiful and the furnishings are comfortable. Thank you for the touches you add to the place - the scones, jam and butter, the sustainable products, the wifi, the parking permit and for helping print our Alcatraz tickets. Finally, the price was right!!

I was in San Francisco for a week and this was a great place to stay. The property is better than what the pictures show. It was homey, comfortable, and a great deal for such an amazing place. The owners live in the same building and are very hospitable, even providing fresh organic fruit. If I'm in San Francisco for a long time again this will definitely be the first place I look to stay.

There is nothing negative to say about our rental experience with this property. The hosts were gracious and the accommodations exactly as presented. The period furnishings were clean and comfortable. The location is top-notch with easy public bus access and plenty of street parking. The neighborhood has a plethora of eating establishments with shopping nearby. We feel lucky to have stumbled across this flat and will return on any future visits to SF. I saved the best for last ... the fresh homemade scones provided by the hosts are killer; you'll want the recipe.
