Location: Brevard, Smoky Mountains, North Carolina, USA (Four Miles from Brevard, NC and Sixteen Miles from Asheville)
Accommodations: Cabin, 2 Bedrooms + Loft, 2 Baths (Sleeps 4-5)
Keywords: Cabin
This rustic and sophisticated cabin is nestled on a mountainside near the French Broad River. It is located on nine private acres secluded from the Partridge Hill main house where the owners live. Partridge Hill was once owned by the author Hamilton Basso who was a close friend of Thomas Wolfe. Wolfe and Basso spent many hours on Partridge Hill and would love the inviting ambience of the cabin known as The Partridge Nest. The cabin features two queen-sized bedrooms and two full baths with an additional sleeping area in the cozy writers loft. Amenities include a beautiful and well-stocked kitchen, dining area, wood-burning fireplace, and a full screened porch with a mountain view. The interior design is comfortable, inviting, and mountain inspired.
An ideal get-away spot, the cabin is secluded yet only four miles from Brevard where there are fine restaurants, the Brevard Music Center, Brevard College, and many great shops. The Pisgah National
Forest is just minutes away from your front door and offers some of the finest hiking, rock climbing, and fly fishing in the East. Majestic waterfalls are all around the area as well. The Brevard Music Center is renowned nationwide for it's summer musical presentations and it's students typically go on to major careers in music. Keith Lockhart is the artistic director and principal conductor.
You will forget time as you sit on the old-fashioned porch swing enjoying the mountain view or reading a book in the cozy loft. You will return to the real world rested, renewed and looking forward to your next visit to The Partridge Nest.

My daughter and I have now stayed here twice- each time as I was dropping her off for summer camp in Brevard. We couldn't ask for a nicer cabin; spottlessly clean inside, tasteful decor, comfortable beds, beautiful view of mountains from the screened in porch and best of all.. less then a 10 min. drive to downtown Brevard! Also, the owners are very easy (and nice!) to deal with and do not require any deposit or cleaning fee.. a first! We look forward to returning next summer and hopefully this winter as well~ We love it!

My daughter married at Key Falls Inn close by last weekend. We stayed at the Partridge Nest which was heavenly. It was adorned with fabulous antiques and loaded with personality! The owners left fresh cut flowers and starbucks coffee. The setting was condusive to R and R post nuptial bliss. Linens were fresh and lovely, beds were comfy. The porch has a wonderful swing with an incredible view. The location is close to everything yet far removed. We strongly recommend the Nest! We will gladly return hopefully soon...

Four of us had the great pleasure of spending a few days in the Partridge Nest. The cabin and surroundings were comfortable, beautiful, and convenient to waterfalls, shopping, and good restaurants. It far surpassed our expectations in the charm area, and even the photos we saw could never do it justice. Our hosts, Charlie and Jean were beyond hospitable, answering our questions, and recommending places to eat, and hike. We have already told so many of our friends and they are excited to visit the Partridge Nest. We took lots of pictures of the cabin to show everyone how great it is. We can't wait to go again. Partridge Nest was absolutely perfect! The setting is lovely, very secluded but convenient to town. Owners Charlie and Jean went out of their way to insure that our visit was special, including fresh tulips in the bedroom! The decor of this cabin is beyond perfection, with incredible attention to detail. The kitchen was well equipped, with plenty of basic supplies, and the porch overlooking the valley below is fantastic. We have stayed in many upscale cabins in Western North Carolina, and Partridge Nest ranks among the very best. Apparently lots of other folks think so,too, because the guest book was full of visitors who have returned time after time. We were lucky to find this place, and will be counting the days til we can return - Bettie and Tom
