Owner's Map of Clayton

Michael and Carol Williams, reside in Peachtree City, Georgia. In spite of our many travels through out the world, one of our favorite areas is the Northeast Mountains of North Georgia. Our cabin is located .5 mile from the Tallulah River and is truly one of the most beautiful locations we have ever visited.
Aunt Nell's cabin is named after my Aunt Nell and it houses some of her most treasured furniture. One is surrounded by Mother Nature and beauty there and it is the place to go to get out of the "Rat Race" of a busy workig enviroment.
Mike is retired now and I am still flying as a flight attendant for Delta.

Absolutely delightul experience!

Guest: Eric (New Orleans, LA)
Date of Stay: 09/19/11 Review Submitted: 10/14/11

We had a great stay at Aunt Nell's cabin and could not believe the quality of the experience for the price. The cabin was spotless, homey, charming, and comfortable, and included all the amenities you would expect to make for a comfortable stay. It is nicely decorated with lots of thoughtful little touches. The owners are an absolute charm and were prompt in returning our security deposit. The kitchen is great and stocked with drawers and cupboards full of nice plates, mugs, glasses, plenty of quality cookware, etc., plus thoughtful things like salt and pepper, olive oil, coffee, electric coffee maker AND a french press...not at all like some of the spartan kitchens you find in rental properties. The bed was comfy, the tv's are nice, the furniture is comfortable and attractive, there's a good selection of local guide books and pamphlets, good DVDs. Everything was great! We were sad to leave, to say the least. Thank you Carol!

Great place to relax!!

Date of Stay: 09/10/11 Review Submitted: 10/06/11

We spent 5 nights at Aunt Nell's cabin and felt like we were "coming home" at the end of each day. The seclusion is wonderful and the proximity to the Tallulah River is convenient. We had a great time trout fishing on the river. We would highly recommend staying at Aunt Nell's cabin - especially if you want or need some quiet relaxing time together. We hated to leave!

Owner response:Thank you to Karen for staying with us at Aunt Nell's Cabin. Karen was a delightful guest to work with and we are thrilled she had a good visit

Our July Visit

Guest: Terri & Stan (Chattahoochee Hills, GA)
Date of Stay: 07/14/11 Review Submitted: 07/23/11

We had a great time staying here July 14th -17th and can't wait to visit again. The listing is accurate. The cabin and large property is clean and well taken care of. There are many small touches that make the cabin have a very comfortable feel. Carol was always helpful and quick to respond to any contact or questions. We liked the back drive and flag pole lot area for walking and watching the bunnies run around. My grandchildren enjoyed fishing at the trout farm next door and even provided our dinner one night. Lake Burton & the Tallulah River are both close & we had fun shopping in Clayton. It is close and easy access to many day trip locations.

Owner response:Our thanks to Terri and her honestly regarding an item found at the cabin. Thank you, most of all, for your business. We appreciate you staying with us and for taking care of Aunt Nell's Cabin.

The most peaceful place on earth!!

Guest: Jeannine (Tifton, Georgia)
Date of Stay: 07/17/11 Review Submitted: 07/22/11

My family and I stayed here for five nights. We loved the cabin!! It was exactly as it was described in the advertisement. Nice, quiet, peaceful, secluded enough to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but close enough to town to make quick trips if need be. While we were there we visited Clayton, Helen, Dillard, Cherokee, Franklin, and even Pigeon Forge....all in a day's trip each day. We will definately be coming back again soon!!

Owner response:Mike and I enjoyed meeting this great couple. It is always a pleasure to have such nice people visit with us at Aunt Nell's Cabin.

Awesome Place to Get Away

Guest: Chris (Montgomery, Al)
Date of Stay: 06/01/11 Review Submitted: 06/07/11

My family and I recently spent 3 nights here and loved every minute of it. If you are looking for relaxation then this is the perfect place. It is a cozy cabin with all the creature comforts of home, but is tucked away in a secluded area of pristine natural beauty. However, relaxation was not on the agenda for my family. We were more interested in getting out into nature and we were not disappointed. We hiked in and around the Tallulah River, which is very close to the cabin. The Tallulah is absolutely beautiful and as we later found out . . . it holds quite a few trout in it as well. The kids wanted to fish, so we used the fishing equipment on the porch at the cabin and proceeded to the river. The kids waded and fished for just a few hours and were able to catch several decent trout. Fresh trout on the grill were a perfect exclamation point to a very fun filled day. Other activities included a trip over to the Sliding Rock. This is a big natural rock that is situated in a different river (sorry I don’t know the name of this river) and it has water flowing over it, making it nature’s perfect water slide. The kids had a blast sliding down this rock into the pool of chilly water below. We also rode over to Helen for some tubing on the river. This is a great bargain as it cost only 5 bucks per person and provides about 3 hours of entertainment. We mostly cooked meals at the cabin or packed picnic lunches, but there are several good places to eat within a short drive of the cabin. I will certainly visit Aunt Nell’s Cabin again and would recommend it to anyone considering a vacation in that area.

Owner response:Thank you to Chris for sharing photos with us. Chris, Haley and the family are the ones who caught the trout and are pictured in the photo gallery. Chris and family are always welcome at Aunt Nell's. Thank you for staying with us.

The cabin was as described in location and appearance. Anything you needed they provided. It is very well kept. It is beautifully located. It's so nice and peaceful just to be there, and it's such a central location to visit so many different places without a long drive. The owner was very helpful, I had no problem contacting them, and was very responsive in returning my calls, which makes a trip less stressful. We really enjoyed eating at Granny's Kuntry Kitchen for breakfast.

What a charming cottage/cabin! Went for a weekend of relaxing and that is just what I did. Enjoyed sitting on the porch swing watching the hummingbirds at the feeder, enjoyed the cool air sleeping the in the very comfortable bed, finding all the kitchen tools needed (even included a pizza wheel!), walking around the property, exploring the Tallulah River area and just getting away from it all! Thanks for sharing a wonderful place to just enjoy "down time"!

Labor Day Weekend

Guest: Lisa (Eatonton Ga)
Date of Stay: 09/03/10 Review Submitted: 09/07/10

We had an amazing time at the cabin for labor day weekend. The rooms were comfortable plus modern. It was four of us and we each had plenty of space. The kitchen was user friendly plus stocked with every utensil we needed! The fire pits outside were great including the fold up chairs on the porch....which we forgot to bring! We were concerned about being too far from town but once we got there we found it was only a 15 min drive to downtown clayton and 5min drive to fishing. You must stop at the Lake Burton Grocery off 76 for the best bbq in town! And also if you are wine drinkers, stop at Tiger Mountain Winery for wine tasting and tour of vinyard. We will be refering this site to others and also staying here again!!

We love the addition your builder built onto your cabin. What a fabulous job with the spacious new bath, separate master and washer/dryer. "Local Flavor" is also fun. Joni's was the choice to celebrate our anniversary.
