We stayed at Bay View Cottage during the week of 10-9-2011. It is in a very quite and safe area. The cottage was very clean and well kept. The owners were great to work with and our deposit was returned in record time. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone. It is a place that we would rent again.

We had the pleasure of staying here the second week of July. The cabin was very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and watching the beautiful sunsets. Having the dock on the property worked out great. There is a nice boat launch about a mile away and plenty of room to park your trailer at the cabin. The owners of the cabin, Kurt and Judy, were very helpful. They stopped in the first day we were there to see if we needed anything and answer any questions. They brought plenty of towels and linens. A few days after we returned home we received a package in the mail. We didn't realize that we had left a pair of our 4 year old daughter’s shorts, but Judy had found them and sent them to us. We thought that was very thoughtful. The beach at Lake Barkley State Resort Park is very well kept. We spent a lot of time there. You can get there by car or by boat. The lodge at the resort has a great buffet. We would highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for rest and relaxation.

My husband and his family have rented this beautiful house on the water for the past three years and we cannot wait to come back! It is like our home away from home! The pictures are good, but it is much better in person!!! We love to fish, so having a private covered dock to tie up our boats and fish from, makes the whole feel of the vacation even better. The house is fully loaded and ready for visitors, and being pet friendly is a big plus, because we are able to bring our dog with us!! The owner is next door and is a very kind and helpful!!! Every year we visit the Catfish Kitchen in Benton, KY and Patti's Settlement in the LBL, because they have great food!! If you like Country Music there is a Kentucky Opry nearby on Friday and Saturday nights, and there are a lot of great antique shops in the area! We highly recommend this rental house!!

As much as I would like to keep this place a secret I owe it to the owners to rate their property because they were so nice and accomodating to us. If you want to relax and get away from it all this is the place. Wonderful views of the lake and wildlife from the deck. The pictures are very representative and it was even better in person. Bring your boat and dock it at the first class dock a short walk from the cottage. A nice public launch ramp is close by. We really enjoyed our week on the water and would not hesitate to rent this cottage again.

It's tough to beat a cottage with a spectacular lake view. The pictures did a good job of detailing the home, though it is even better in person. The home had everything we needed; it was very clean and well maintained. We especially liked the fact that it was pet friendly, but you couldn't tell by the look or smell of it (again, it is very clean!)....The furnishings were nice inside, the bathrooms are nicely done and the kitchen comes with the works; the boat dock was set nicely in a cove, and if you ever felt like you needed something, the owner lives right next door - btw - he may very well be the kindest man on the planet. As far as nearby attractions, you might have to drive a little (15-20 miles), the cottage is tucked away in a less-touristy area. We spent most of our time in the Land Between the Lakes, so the commute was manageable. KenLake Resort and Lake Barkley State Resort Park are close. Lake Barkley Park has a full service marina, restaurant, and lots of other water activities available. There is road construction being done on the main highway connecting Lakes Kentucky and Barkley (as of June 2010), but it's not confusing or time consuming. As soon as it's finished, it will be a really nice area to visit. We recommend this property, especially for a more laid back, peaceful getaway, and would happily stay here again.
