Bellacasa del Rio - This is a completely remodeled home built in 1939 which adjoins the beautiful Russian River. You can park your car and relax, walk or paddle to town.
There is a lot to do within walking distance or on the river. You can pack a lunch, take our 4-person paddle boat and find a picnic spot on the river at a beach to the east of us or go down to Johnson's Beach, park and have lunch. It is only a ten-minute walk to town for a snack, favorite coffee shop, ice cream or dinner, or just to browse. We are a stone's throw to River Road. (some road noise from 116 in front of house) Bellacasa is a very comfortable destination--relax and explore Russian River and all it has to offer.
In the yard there is a horseshoe pit, a patio with picnic table and outdoor fire pit, a BBQ set-up on the upper deck, as well as 5-person hot-tub on lower deck for relaxing with added seating and ping pong table in adjacent room with small refrigerator and rinse-off shower bottom of stairs. The dock is very secluded and very private. For the younger set there is a small swing set. Two kayaks available as well as one adult bike, and a couple of kids' bikes and helmets; approx. 5 life vests for kids; misc. swim inflatables.
Please note: This house has no air conditioning; ceiling fans in bedrooms; and two extra floor fans for living and family room.
In the house, you can relax, take a bubble bath in our old clawfoot tub that also has a separate shower; watch TV in either the great room with DVD/VHS or living room wtih a small TV, and a lovely stone fireplace. Kitchen with eating counter opens in family room, connecting to the dining room. The river view is open to the whole back of the house. Adjoining upper deck there is a small table and chairs, lounge chair and BBQ; staircase down to lower deck and yard; lower deck with spa, lounge seating, and on patio, dining table and chairs.
You can walk to downtown, the library, and all the quaint eateries in Guerneville. Of course, you can also get in the car and drive to Armstrong Woods Park and hike your heart out among some of the oldest redwoods (and tallest) in the state. Or drive to the ocean with a picnic packed to Dillon Beach, Bodega Bay, Duncan Mills, and so much more so close but good day-trips.
Just enjoying the view from the house or the yard and riverfront where there is nothing but the phenomenal forest across from us; bird watch, or light up the patio firepit. Don't forget to sit out and star-gaze, too!

Why the Owner Chose Guerneville
I tried to convince my daughter to buy a vacation rental here when we had taken my visiting grandsons kayaking approximately five years ago. It took her a year plus to acquiesce. The river and the redwoods are intoxicating. It is so close to everything! I reside in Napa, but Sonoma County has "Everything!"
The Unique Benefits of this House
You can walk to town, the river is right there!!! And those marvelous redwoods; never get tired of exploring Armstrong Woods; in fact, rarely go west past Monte Rio, BUT the ocean is quite close and another world -- we enjoy Bodega Bay and Dillon Beach for hiking and kayaking, picnicking and seafood to go.
