HSetting beautiful right on the waterfront, stunning sunrises and sunsets, with the addition of the occasional dolphin passing by. The house is well equipped and in very good order. Spoke to Radella several times and had excellent advise and help from her, though on one occasion I spoke to a gentleman who informed me rudely that they did not rent to overseas customers , I was actually calling from England to pay the final balance and eventually got hold of Radella who took the payment off me in her usual sweet manner. Would recommend and have already done so. We had a wonderful trip out in the bay with Captain Doug's Tidewater Cruises and also rented a boat from them on another afternoon. Service was excellent and most informative. Had excellent meal at Steamers, but service not to good. Last morning had breakfast at Ken's Cedar Keyside Diner lovely location excellent food.

Recommended for:Romantic getaway, tourists without a car, sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Great location, fabulous views, lots of deck seating (a plus is part of the deck is covered - but half of the screening is gone, so no bug protection, but it does give shade), plenty of dishes and towels, comfy living area with good lighting - everyone was able to read. Upstairs bed was more firm than I care for, but everyone else was comfortable. Radella, the homeowner's assistant, was a jewel to deal with when booking & follow up. She even called the motel down the street to see if they had some soap they could send over when I called to find out where it was kept at the house. Downsides: most of the blinds are missing the rods that open & close the slats so it's hard to block the sun inside, so bring a sleep mask if you are light sensitive, & dishwasher is not anchored so it falls forward when you pull out the bottom rack. When we arrived & brought the bags in to the bedrooms, the first order was a pit stop after being on the road. There was no hand soap in the bathrooms - not a huge deal as the grocery is a short 2 blocks away, but when I suggested to the homeowner that it would have been helpful to know that in advance so we could bring our own, (especially since the description says "fully furnished for your comfort & convenience"), she replied (at 5:03 Friday) "We have never had a guest not bring their own toiletries for a weekend stay." & to call Radella if we needed further assistance. 1st - I have rented more than a dozen "by owners" in 7 states and Canada & have never had to go out & buy hand soap for the bathroom (& I don't consider that "toiletries", which of course we did bring, I consider it basic) & 2nd - Radella is off at 5 & doesn't return till Mon. I guess it was really the attitude that annoyed me the most. So, bring your own soap, and don't expect anything outside of normal business hours & you will have a great time. Also, Tony's does have great clam chowder.

The most awesome home to rent in cedar key

There is just no way any amount of photos could do this home justice. The views are breath-taking and at high tide we could sit at the end of the patio area and dangle our feet in the water. The home is spacious and beautifully decorated , it is well maintained .. The kitchen was great and well equipped.. the only thing in the whole place that we needed was a.... blender! We had a wonderful vacation ,we totally enjoyed the laid back atmosphere..and we love that the area is not commercialized..we enjoyed boating and fishing..and.the local bars and restaurants are very good. Everyone is so friendly. The realtor and the owners were both very helpful with our questions about the area and the home. We cant wait to return!

Excellent location, beautiful views

We stayed here in Dec 2010. This has the possibility of being excellent, save for a few issues. It was dusty. The glasses had a dirty feeling film on them. We needed three bedrooms and three baths, however one bathtub upstairs would not drain and was filthy. The toilet was continually stopping up, therefore my husband and I had to share the master bath with the occupant of bedroom 3. The downstairs half bath toilet was inoperable but no one thought to tell that ahead of time. If I owned this place I woul fire the cleaning service immediately. Not to the standard one would expect for the money. The location, however, is excellent.

Owner response:In response to the issues of the plumbing problems -- we have had five guests since this group stayed with us in December and not one person has complained of the inoperable toilet or the bathtub. Again, had we know of the problem in 2 months ago during the stay we would have been happy to fix it immediately. We apologize for any inconvenience and welcome the opportunity to fix the problem.
