  Great cabin and only about 3-4 miles from Dollywood. Also great people to work with. The cabin was just as described with 3 levels. Worked out perfect for my teenagers. We travel to Pigeon Forge almost every year and will definitely stay here again. Thanks

  We have rented dozens of vacation properties over the years, and I have to start this review by giving accolades to Suzanne who manages the property and oversees the booking calendar on behalf of the owners. Every e-mail inquiry (and I had lots of questions) was answered quickly and thoroughly; making the booking arrangements and online payment a breeze. Communication was great. We were provided with great directions to Bear Rock Lodge (including directions to nearby amenities, grocery, etc.) as well as a lots of info on local attractions and events. Bear Rock Lodge is beautiful, exactly as pictured in the photos and truly fits into the 'luxury' category of Smoky Mountain vacation rentals. It is PERFECT for three adult couples as everyone gets a king-sized beds and their own bathroom with the added bonus of the bedrooms being located on a separate floor. We were very concerned that there was no wi-fi access in the cabin as our group of friends was meeting to plan an upcoming trip to Italy and internet research was a key part of the planning. Suzanne suggested we create a mobile hotspot with one of our cell phones. I had great cell reception (AT&T service - 4 out of 5 bars at almost all times) and the mobile hotspot was a perfect solution for us! The property was very clean and stocked with almost everything we needed. I did not notice that the barbecue grill on the deck is charcoal not gas (my fault), so we had to improvise the night we were planning on grilling steaks. I did suggest, upon our return, that a few additional items be purchased for the kitchen like a set of mixing bowls and some additional glassware. Suzanne responded immediately that she appreciated the feedback and would purchase these items for the cabin ASAP. There was an outdoor motion light that was burned out, but I am confident that will be remedied quickly too (we did not call for repair while we were staying in the unit). This is a FANTASTIC property with PROFESSIONAL management. You won't be disappointed if you choose Bear Rock Lodge for your stay in the Smoky Mountains. If I could give more than 5***** I would!

  We enjoyed our stay very much! The cabin was very nice and clean. Amenities were great. Convenient to Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The positives definitely outweighed the negatives but a couple of things to consider: As mentioned in several other reviews, the driveway is very steep and has a hard left turn; getting three vehicles in and out of the driveway is a little tedious but doable; the temperature on the lower level is much cooler than the main floor; All the windows around the top of the cabin and the windows in the master bedroom overlooking the living area let in a lot of light and make it difficult to sleep, but that is personal preference. Aside from those minor things, the cabin was exactly what I expected from the pictures and would recommend to anyone!

  Wow! We just returned from a 4 night stay. This place is absolutley PERFECT. The homeowner took great pride in attending to EVERY detail. The pictures are right on. It's a rarity to actaully find a cabin such a Bear Rock Lodge. It is roomy and cozy. It's actually hard to a leave such a wonderful place. Suzanne was such a pleasure to work with. We will definatly have a return trip to this cabin. Thanks again for offering such an immaculante place for our vacationing pleasure.

  My family and I stayed here just before Christmas. The property was clean and neat...very comfortable...Nice quality pool table. Our sons enjoyed makiing the basement their "guy cave" for the weekend. Several DVDs and video games from which to choose with nice home theater system. Plenty of dishes and an excellent assortment of cookware. Nice big wrap-around deck on main level. Relaxing hot tub. Very comfortable master suite for mom and dad's "getaway". Nice touch with being decorated for Christmas...will definitely stay at this location again.

  This home is very nice...Alittle tricky finding, but then its o.k. a suggestion better lighting going up the drive and up stairs. All the bedrooms were EXTREMLY comfortable---clean-- The air hockey was missing its puck and the skee ball was not working. We called several times and no call back.. We ending up fixing the skee ball, so no biggee.. very close to Dollywood---wish it had W-FI, but there were books giving ideas to eat, play.. I would say this is an awesome home and would recommend, but We would like a better view, which are harder to find. We loved the Alamo restaurant. Went ziplining with FireFox....loved it... went water rafting with Rafting in the Smokies... Loved that and our guide Chris....Dollywood...so-so! butr had to do it being in Tennessee. Didnt see any bears, our boys were disappointed. Nice , nice home!!!!

  First I want to say this place is awesome!!!!!! Just looking at the pictures was exciting, then when we arrived it was breathtaking. We went with friends of ours so there were 10 people total. This cabin was big enough that we could all split up. I can't say enough about the owners. Any questions or concerns she fixed them right up. I can't wait for ouor next trip to the Smokies!!!! We will be staying here next time we visit for sure!!

  The owner's descriptions and pictures are spot on. The layout was very convenient for my parents and our 3 teenagers. We each had our own level. The ground floor was a great hang out for watching tv and playing a game of pool, and when the kids felt like getting in the hot tub, it was just out the door and private. On the main level, (2nd floor) we gathered for the big breakfast every morning and in the evening we relaxed and told stories about the day. My elder parents enjoyed the king bedroom on this level. On the third level, my wife and I loved the privacy of the enormous king suite. The bed was much better than I expected given fact that the place is a rental. The furnishings throughout the lodge were of quality, but there was evidence that it was a rental property from some of the wear and tear. It was still well worth the price. The lodge was a quality place to call home for the week. We all enjoyed the experience very much. The location was very convenient to town and all that the area had to offer. The roads leading to the lodge we narrow in places and steep grades were plentiful. This was what I expected and I would warn visitors during winter weather that a 4 wheel drive would be strongly suggested. Our week during the Independance Day celebrations was full of activities and so much more we could have done. The unusual hot weather that has plagued the country did not leave Pigeon Forge out either. We saw several days +/- 100 degrees, even up in the National Park. The Park was wonderful. There was so much nature to enjoy and scenery you won't see many places else. The traffic through the towns of Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge was completely insane. It would pay you to know the back roads for the days you want to get to dinner and back to the lodge without an hour waiting in traffic on the Parkway. It took us a few days to discover the routes that the locals use. We ate at several places during our week. The 5 Guys burger restaurant had the best burgers by far. The Old Mill had a delicious menu and was relatively fair priced. We tried to eat early most evenings to avoid the rush. Overall we loved the vacation and the accomodations at the Bear Rock Lodge.

  The lodge/cabin and all of the accomodations were excellent given the price. We enjoyed our days out and about, and in the evening we were happy to return to the cabin. It was relaxing and private. The lay out of the rooms was perfect for our family. The beds were comfortable. The furnishings were nice. Our week in the mountains was a little less than perfect given the weather. It ranged every day 100 degrees +. It hampered our enjoyment of the outdoors. I would have like to have seen more local info available in the cabin. If you are a new visitor to the area, it is also helpful to learn the back roads to avoid the Parkway. The heavy traffic never ceases. I will plan for cooler weather on our next visit. The owners of the Bear Rock Lodge are very helpful and pleasant to deal with when booking. We truly enjoyed the week.

  Owner response: Tim, Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed the INDOOR portion of your stay. That heat is brutal. Your suggestion about more local information is excellent. Please know we have acted on it by updating our existing Welcome Book and have created a new Local Attractions Book which includes a plethora of information on local attractions, restaurants and theaters complete with addresses, phone numbers and websites, many of which will offer coupons, and maps. The back roads suggestion is proving more difficult, there just are not that many of them, but we are working on that and should have something in the cabin real soon. We look forward to having you back in the fall or winter. We can pretty much guarantee you will not have 100 degree weather then. Plus we have the cabin decorated for the holidays by a professional interior designer. It is BEAUTIFUL. We always offer great deals to returning guests. Thanks again for the review. Suzanne
