I'd stayed in this condo with my 2 friends. (girls only). It's a perfect vacation for us without the car. We bought a one day trolley ticket (actually you can use that for 2 days) and that covered many interesting places.(from the diamond head to the china town) and trolley stops just in front of the hotel. This condo is very comfortable and has almost everything what you need. There is a convenient store at the 1st floor, so you can get small things like eggs, bottle of water etc.(similar price with the ABC store) I liked the location of this condo. It's very quiet compare the waikiki area. And within pleasant walking distance, you can reach the huge shopping center and nice restaurants. We had heavy rain couple of days, but we even enyoyed that weather too. Having a morning coffee at the balcony was the best !

Nice condo overlooking beach and marina, great sunset view, right on major transit routes. We never went out for dinner because eating on the lanai was just wonderful. Pretty much anything we needed was there, from tea kettle to beach chairs. We'll stay there again. Price was right.

Whatever you read about this unit's view.......it is 10X better! Same as the owner's response to any questions.....SUPERB! I would hope that this unit is available the next time we come to Hawaii. We love the location,it is very quiet as we could leave the patio doors open all night. Bus stops in both diections are right out front,about 6-8 restaurants within a block,car rental right acroos the street (3 or 4 major brands). Also within the unit are many handy items for use: a cooler , beach chair, beach umbrella and too many more things to mention. I can not see anyone being disappointed with this rental. Great feedback - I'm pleased to report the carpets have been steamed cleaned. Yea! A remodel is in our future, but its hard to take the unit off the rental market with such a huge demand. Yes, we have had a difficult time keeping kitchen necessities in the unit. We need each tenant to do their part. We are looking forward to your return visit. Greg & Aleda Muth

We just got back yesterday from a week in Waikiki and it is freezing here. We have stayed at this condo before an highly recommend it for its great price and location. It has all the basics but could do with a few more such as blender and especially a kettle as I love my tea first thing and had to use a saucepan. This is not the best condo I have stayed at, it could do with a bit of a remodel and getting rid of the carpets but you cannot get better value for the money anywhere and the owner is wonderful to deal with. We would stay there again and again just for the view; it is spectacular. I will add a view of the sunsets; breath-taking.

Paradise

We stayed at the Muth's home away from home the first week of November, 2011, and could not be more pleased. The view from this condo is absolutely stunning--much better than the pictures. The unit is clean, comfortable and laid-back. Perfect place to relax, perfect place to catch rainbows, and to fall asleep with the glass doors wide open amidst a balmy breeze and the sound of the surf has got to be one of the most exquisite pleasures in life. The Ilikai itself is wonderful. Central location for walks on Waikiki Beach or to Ala Moana Park, or the mall. The Ilikai Bar and Grill (downstairs) has great food and friendly service (on the plus side, we found great food/service to be pretty much the norm all over Waikiki) and the tiki torch lighting and Friday Night fireworks are fun to watch. The bus stop right outside the hotel is handy for trips to Pearl Harbor or Diamond Head, as are the car rental shops across the street if you want to rent a car for a day trip around the island. Overall, you'd be hard pressed to find a better place to enjoy Honolulu than this condo. Mahalo, Greg for all your help, it was a pleasure doing business with you, and we hope to do so again on our next trip to paradise.

This condo is in a great location. Close to restaurants, shopping and the beach. Very comfortable for 2 people. Would probably be cramped for more than two. Clean. A comfortable bed. We had all of the comforts of home. The view is great. A perfect location to see the Hawaiian sunset. We would definitely stay here again.

The room is nice, clean and well furnished with great view of Ala Wai harbour and the ocean. Very good deal! We enjoyed our 1 week stay at this property so much. Cushion of the king size bed was a bit too soft for us, but we had good sleep. We will be happy to come back. Thank you.

We loved it! Great location and the lanai was perfect for morning coffee. The sunsets were fantastic. The double rainbow over the marina was amazing. The staff was very helpful with directions and questions. Would definitely stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay at the Ilikai very much, and appreciated Greg's unit overlooking the harbor. Lanai is spacious and has lovely vistas of remarkable sunsets, and the goings on down below. The condo unit is spacious, clean, and nicely furnished. Upholstery and linens are a bit worn, but still comfortable. Shower is small and dark, but workable. Listing description and photos are accurate, and the view is truly spectacular - better than the photos! Greg was helpful, easy to work with and accommodating. The grounds are very well maintained and clean, and the service was friendly (except for the staff that gives the key access...They were a little rude). Overall our stay was comfortable, deeply soothing and restful, and accommodations were quite welcoming and comfortable. Access to the beach is easy, and there's a perfect viewing site nearby on the lawn, to watch Friday night fireworks. We were able to walk to the nearby mall, alongside the beach and into Waikiki very easily. I would definitely recommend this unit to family and friends.

We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely condo. It is very comfortable, nicely equipped and the views are fantastic. Air conditioning wasn't an issue as it was so nice to sleep with the doors wide open and have the ocean breezes coming in. And then to wake up to the awesome views and enjoy breakfast on the lanai watching all the early morning action. Hope that this condo is available the next time we go to Hawaii.

I chose this unit because it was very affordable and got great reviews. Greg was so easy to work with. The best part is that the rate he quotes above is the TOTAL rate -- no cleaning fees, no taxes! This has to be the BEST DEAL in Waikiki. The view is even better than the pictures. Location at the quiet end of Waikiki was perfect for us. Pros: Great views of marina and magic island, excellent location, cooler in closet for packing lunches for our travels Cons: AC didn't work well (ok for me, but I don't like it cold), room smaller than it appears in pics, had to buy some basics (like kitchen towels). But didn't mind because what a deal!! If we ever come back to Waikiki, this is the ONLY place we will stay.

This condo is exactly as described and the owner,Greg, is as easy to deal with as anyone you'll ever interact with. The location is central to everything and when you have early mornings under a full moon or sunsets in a cloudy sky or rainbows that go on forever, the view is even better than the picture shown! We had it all plus a quiet relaxing location. The building is old but well maintained and the unit is spotless. You can't do better, especially for the price. Mahalo Greg!

Unit was everything it was promoted by. Had all the amenities necessary for Condo living. Very clean and very well maintained. Greg was one of the best we've ever worked with in all the many years we have gone to Oahu. I guarantee you'll not find anyone more cooperative and congienal to work with. The view is always changing and always something different going on. To look out over the Yacht Harbor with all the boats and Magic Island, The sailboat activity and not to leave out the beautiful Sunsets. You would be cheating your self if you don't rent this beautiful unit No. 1865. Be factor also is the price is right. My wife is very finicky and touchy about any unit we rent and this one is at the top of hers and my list. You'll never regret your stay. We didn't and we've stayed at the IIikai on many different occasions. Wish we could have found Greg's unit much sooner. Aloha will be back.

Nice condo on the water. Good location for us as it was not in the middle of Waikiki but close enough. My only problem and it was not a huge one, is that the condo came with only one roll of TP. Nothing else-Paper towels, napkins, kleenex, trash bags, etc. Good thing we were close to Foodland at Ala Moana. Other than that I thought it was a great value for a nice condo on the ocean.

My daughter, grand daughter and I were very comfortable because there is a folding screen that separates the 2 sleeping areas. This worked well with the 3 year old. Gorgeous view of the harbor, boats and sunset. Great walking along the ocean path past the resorts and then through Waikiki. Nice poolside bar (try the coconut crusted shrimp!) We will be back soon! We loved our time in Hawaii and our condo #1835! This condo is clean and bright and well equipped-it even had beach chairs, umbrella and mats for beach visits. We especially enjoyed the lanai with its' beautiful view of the harbour and the condo courtyard-loved having breakfast on the lanai and watching the surfers. The building is a bit older and quieter, but it seems well maintained. Pool area was quite plain, but had plenty of deck chairs, umbrellas, chairs and tables. The Ilikai is a short walk (10 minutes) to the vibrant busy Waikiki beach hotel, nightlife and shop area one way, and a 10 minute walk to Ala Moana shopping center the other way. The beach itself is just around the corner- 5 min. stroll. Greg was extremely accomodating and helpful with our questions and concerns. We have already recommended it to friends and family.

Greg was very quick in all the responses, very flexible with last minute changes in scheduling, and easy to work with. We loved the view of the property, and how all the mirrors really brightened (and widened) the room. The place was super clean with plenty of nice towels for our use. The only reason we gave four stars was because the bed was harder than what we would have liked comparing to ours at home. I would definitely recommend this place, and would probably come prepared with a pillow topper next time to make things perfect. Mahalo.

We just returned from our stay in this lovely condo with the most spectacular views overlooking the yacht harbour at Ala Wai. It was in a perfect location, just a short walk to Ala Moana Shops one way and Waikiki the other way. It was spotless, carefully looked after and well stocked with everything we needed for a great holiday. The decor in the condo was pleasant and welcoming and the complex itself was well maintained. The owner Greg was extremely helpful and answered my questions promptly. I would highly recommend this condo, it was so much better than we had hoped for at such a great price. We can't wait to return to Hawaii and will definitely be contacting Greg again to rent his condo. Many thanks Greg!

We love Hawaii and we love condo 1835!! Greg has been a pleasure to deal with, despite our slow mail delivery!! The condo is a perfect location (not too noisy) and not right in the center of everything. Walking to shop or to wander around Waikiki is a comfortable distance and good exercise. The condo has everything we needed and the beach is just outside the door. Waking up to the view is a huge bonus. Thank you, won't stay anywhere else.

We truly enjoyed our stay (from October 12th to 20th) in thiscondo—well-equipped, clean and very well located. We love thestunning view from the balcony over the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor,the Ala Moana Beach Park, and even across the airport and themountains in West Oahu! We spent quite a few hours sitting onthe balcony—having a breakfast or a sunset dinner, or just witha cup of coffee. There is nothing so relaxing. Thanks Greg forgiving us this wonderful experience. We stayed here from Sept 3rd to 18th and had a great time. What a wonderful view to wake up to and brilliant sunsets to end the day. The condo has everything you could need to enjoy breakfast on the patio or a dinner to watch the sunsets. We did it all and loved every minute of it. Greg was wonderful to deal with and accomodated my date changes, making the whole transaction very smooth. We have stayed at the Iliai numerous times and we will be back. What a great place. I spent a week with my grandson and it was perfect. The Friday night fireworks next door at the Hilton Hawaiian Village were spectacular. The condo was great - wonderful sunset view. Easy walking distance to Waikiki. The kitchenette is great. AM coffee without the trip across the street to Starbucks and good hearty breakfast before the days adventures. I cannot wait for our next trip to Oahu. The Ilikai is a great place. My first visit to the Ilikai was in 1969 and it is still a great spot for a vacation.

I stayed at this condo for 7 nights at the end of May, 2009. It was VERY nice and clean condo as advertised. I was very pleased with everything about it, the decorating, linens, dishes, cookware and so on. Everything was perfect ! In the day time, it was so noisy that the one of the pool was under construction. But I didn't care about it. Thank you very much, Greg and also your wife. I will definitely return this condo in the near future and will highly recommend about it to others !

Stayed Oct 14 - 29/08 Exceptional value. Highly recommend this condo. It has a spectacular view. Within easy walking distance of Waikiki beach area. Fully equipped kitchen. Nice furniture. Balcony has plenty of chairs. Bed a bit firm but still comfortable. Would have like to have had a foam cushion topper. There was a single foam available which I did use but that covered only half the king size bed. We had internet available at no additional cost, good flat screen t.v. All in all it exceeded my expectations. The Ilikai itself is going through financial difficulties, but none of that affected us in any significant way. Stores at the bottom were closed, one of the pools was closed but that didn't affect us.
