Pigeon Forge cabin description
This cabin has an option to be rented as a 3 Bedroom and 3 Bath for an additional charge.
'A Walk In the Clouds', also known as 'Dodgin' Reality' suits both names. Sitting up on beautiful Bluff Mountain, You can easily dodge the real world and problems by staying at 'A Walk In The Clouds' on your vacation or honeymoon. The view is awesome and there are times you ARE actually above the clouds. Sitting on the cabin's porch you can look out over the Smokies, you can see Mt. LaConti by day and at night sitting in the hot tub you can see the beautiful lights of Pigeon Forge.
Sometimes you might see turkeys walking down the street or playing in the yard. Rocky the raccoon likes to make his presence known at night, especially if he smells food. We also have had a Beautiful Black Bear that has been seen walking down the street, but he doesn't seem to one to make his presence known when are there, so I can't actually say I've seen him. We have seen deer in the daytime just up the street. Beautiful Rainbows have been seen after a good rain.
The view alone is worth the price, but the cabin itself is also worth it. The cabin is very comfortable. You have everything you need to make you feel right at home. The theme and decor of the cabin is bears and Indians. Everywhere you look you will see bears. The beds are very comfortable with King size Pillow Top Mattresses and the kitchen is fully equipped with everything you would need to make an elaborate meal to a simple meal. There is also a barbeque grill if you want to have a cookout. During the colder months, enjoy sitting in front of a cozy fire made with the real thing (firewood). And the firewood is furnished. Or enjoy sitting in the hot tub and just relax.
We have a journal that the guest use to journal their experiences. One of our guest started the dollar game, where clues are given to where the dollar is hidden and the next guests have a great time trying to find it. You can just sit on the deck and read your favorite book, or get a Danielle Steele book from the cabin.
Or you can just sit and enjoy God's beauty. You won't be disappointed. Sit back and enjoy a hot cup of coffee or cocoa and just soak in the beauty around you. You will be amazed at all you see and hear.
If sitting is not your thing and you want something to do, enjoy a game of pool while viewing the beautiful Smokies from the dormer windows in the loft. Or go to the basement for a game of darts, cards, or board games. There are also video games, or just watch a DVD. You won't get bored at 'A Walk In The Clouds'.
We also decorate inside and outside the cabin for Christmas starting the middle of November thru December. So get in the holiday spirit and reserve your dates now. These dates usually fill up quickly, so don't wait too long. Come enjoy Winterfest and do some Christmas Shopping at the outlets.
There are so many things you can do in the surrounding area of 'A Walk In The Clouds'. Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg are just minutes from the cabin. Cades Cove is a treat in itself. See bear, deer, turkey or horseback ride. Go to Cherokee and see Harrah's Casino, or the famous outdoor show 'Unto These Hills'. Hike the many trails through out the area and see water falls. Walking sticks are furnished at the cabin.
There is no way to mention everything there is to do in the Smokies, but you don't have to do a thing to enjoy this vacation. Just pack a bag of clothes and some food and enjoy the peace and quite of the cabin and the nature around you.
Because we are on Bluff Mountain a four wheel drive is recommended and good tires are a must when the weather is bad. It is impossible to get up if there is ice on the road unless you have chains. There is just a very short distance that is steep, but it is slippery when wet. It is so worth the trouble though when you get to the cabin.
Reserve your vacation today. 'A Walk In The Clouds' is Home Away From Home and we tried to make it just that for everyone that visits there. We ask for your comments in our journal that sits on the living room table and any suggestions you might have to make it better. Also, make comments on this website for other potential guests to read.
Thanks for checking us out. Hope you will make 'A Walk In The Clouds' your next destination. You won't be sorry!

Great Cabin - SPECTACULAR views
Great Cabin - SPECTACULAR views
The review is with a caveat - I'm not particularly a mountain person - this was just a great half way point to meet a family member for the weekend. The Positives - Plenty of room to spread out. LOVED the decor - bears, bears everywhere. everything was neat and clean. quite homey. The negatives - As I said- not a mountain person so the drive up was not really what I wanted, Owners were very honest when they said a steep incline, had to drop my car into 1st gear to get up the road. It wasn't QUITE as close to everything as I would have liked, but its the mountains. The only issue within the owners control would be the bedroom on the main floor - very cramped due to the size of the bed, and no where to unpack the folded clothes. The TV in this room is very low, and if your not careful, you will hit your head on it - my husband will have a small scar on his head, he forgot to duck. Also sound sounds from the main floor bedroom, can be heard quite clearly in the loft, we had to lower the sound on the TV to keep from disturbing the upstairs. We didn't use the hot tub, however, it did look inviting. Had a couple of internet/cable hick ups, but all were resolved. Beds were comfy, and the lighting show from the loft was amazing. I'm not sure we will return, but it would have nothing to do with the cabin, or owner. I would HIGHLY recommend this cabin for hikers and nature lovers, or for a peaceful place to just "be" for a weekend.

Owner response: Thank you for taking time to give us a review. I'm very sorry your experience wasn't everything you had hoped it to be. We do appreciate you sharing with us though. We try to use suggestions to improve our cabin and make it more desirable. Some things we can change and some we can't. I can see how the hill can be intimidating to those that are not use to driving in the mountains. I guess we are just so use to it, that we don't even think about it much. We are about 5 miles from the Pigeon Forge Parkway at light 3 and Wears Valley, which is about the middle point from Gatlinburg to Sevierville. I do hope you will return to the mountains and stay somewhere closer into town and not up on the mountain. There is so much to see in the beautiful Smokies, so please don't let this experience keep you from returning. As far as the Cabin itself, we made the decision to go with comfort and chose to have all King Size Beds in the bedrooms with pillow top mattresses. The main bedroom is close quarters, but you do have a comfy bed, a dresser that does have several drawers to put away folded clothes and behind the door a place for hanging clothes. We also chose to put a television with cable in each bedroom so every sleeping area would have the same advantages as far as amenities go. There is a low ceiling though and hanging the television was the only option since we did choose to go with King size beds. I'm very sorry about the internet/cable problems you had, but we are up on Bluff Mountain and we have no control over the power outages and internet/cable problems. We have just in the past year been able to get internet, so we are proud to be able to offer it at all. We have no control over Comcast either. All we can do is complain, but in the long run we are at their mercy until Charter or some other cable company comes up the mountain with internet. We do strive for repeat guests and most of our rentals are repeat guests that have been coming for years. Everyone has different preferences and when we built the cabin, we went with of course our preferences first, but then we also listen to our builder & others on things we had no clue about. All in all I think the majority of our reviews here on vrbo and in the journal on the coffee table are positive. Again, I appreciate your review and the opportunity to address some of your concerns. There are other prospective guests that need to know the pros and the cons of staying in our cabin. Thanks for sharing. Noel Tidwell

AWESOME!! Can't add anything to all the previous reviews without repeating. Everything was fabulous. Noel takes a personal interest in her property and it shows in every way. Couldn't have stayed in a better place, for any amount of money. The cabin is very comfortable; just like being at home only better because of the view. A great place to be reminded what a Great Creator God is. Be sure to play the "Dollar Game".

Owner response: All I can say is WOW! Thank you so much. I am so glad you enjoyed the cabin and your vacation. God truly has blessed us with this cabin in so many ways. Especially with wonderful guests who share their stories with us here and in our journal at the cabin. When we go up we love reading different things from peoples lives. We laugh, we cry and feel like in someway we have met each of you that visit. I don't remember who started the dollar game, but it has been going on since we opened the cabin for rental. Everyone enjoys the dollar game. Thanks again for the awesome review and hope to hear from you again.
Enjoyed our Stay and Excellent Cabin
Enjoyed our Stay and Excellent Cabin
Our family enjoyed our stay at 'A Walk In the Clouds' cabin. The road to the cabin becomes very narrow (one car) and is very steep (be prepared)...made for an exciting "up and down" trip each day. We made good use of the pool table, electronic dart board along with the hot tub. The cabin was very clean, well decorated, and had nice big comfy beds. The owner was very good to work with and gave us good vacation tips for the area. We didn't see any bears but my son did spot a wild turkey crossing the cabin road early one morning. Places we visited - Laurel Falls/New Found Gap, Gatlinburg, Old Mill district, Hillbilly Minigolf, and Dollywood. Excellent cabin and would recommend to all.

Owner response: Thanks Doug and Kelly for you nice review for our cabin. The road is steep, but to me worth it to get to the view. We love our little cabin up on Bluff Mountain and want everyone that visits to love it too. I never want to leave when I go and can't wait to get back up there when I'm home. My husband was asking last night when we will be going again. We try to get up there anytime it is available. Thanks again for your lovely review and hope to hear from you again. Noel
My husband and I brought his son and family to the mtns for a few days. When I made contact with the owner of this property. She was very pleasant and very easy to work with. When we got to the cabin it was everything and then some of what we had hoped for. It was home away from home. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The only thing we didn't enjoy or let me say that the woman didn't enjoy was the road to the cabin but hey it is the mtns. We would definitely recommend this to anyone.

Owner response: Thank you so much for giving us the nice review. Glad you enjoyed your vacation. We try to keep our cabin as updated as possible and have everything anyone could want. It is our home away from home and that is the feeling we want every guests that comes to share with us. Thanks again and hope to hear from you again.
A Walk in the Clouds was beautiful; we were there with our two children 14 & 8. Cabin was clean and comfy. View from the upstairs was awesome and we loved spending time with the family around the pool table there. We enjoyed time in the mornings sitting on the porch drinking coffee and the kids enjoyed watching fireflies in the evenings. The hill before getting to the cabin is pretty steep but we just put the car in 1st and didn’t have a problem getting up the hill. We would definitely pick this cabin to stay in the Pigeon Forge area again. The owners were more than helpful through the whole process from talking to me about their cabin through booking and payment. We specifically looked for owner operator vs one of the rental companies, we thought we would get better service from someone who was taking an active role in managing their business.

A walk in the clouds is the perfect description for this lovely cabin! There was something for everyone in the family - my 7 year old grandson LOVED the game room and hot tub; my 21 year old son enjoyed the pool table and my husband and I relaxed on the porch with coffee on a rainy Sunday morning. If you want a quiet, restful place to recharge from the busy world, this cabin fills the bill. The owner was always helpful when we communicated and I would definitely choose to stay there again:)

DEFINITELY A WALK IN THE CLOUDS!
DEFINITELY A WALK IN THE CLOUDS!
The location was excellent and had beautiful views off the wrap around porch. Advice: you definitely need 4 wheel drive because the incline is steep and quite slick when raining! The cabin had everything you could possibly need when staying away from home. The property was pretty clean (some dust on the mantle and under coffee table but as far as I am concerned it felt like home) but overall it was great. The beds were very comfortable and our boys loved the gameroom, pool table, and hot tub. The dollar game kept them entertained our first evening there and they enjoyed hiding them for the next guests. Noel was very helpful when we were booking and answered all our questions promptly. I would definitely recommend this location. Thanks Noel for the wonderful vacation and we hope to come back soon!

Owner response: Thank you so much for your review. Very sorry about the dust. I will question my housekeeper about that. Normally she keeps it exceptionally clean. Thanks for letting me know though. Hope to hear from you again.
My friends and I had a wonderful time at the cabin. It was perfect for a weekend trip away from the business of work. We enjoyed the close proximity of shopping and the free wine tastings. Also the hot tub and pool table were a wonderful way to relax at the end of the day. Thanks!

I haven't stopped thinking about this special cabin and its views, since leaving 10/5/12. I was in awe everyday with the spectacular views and the serenity all around us. We enjoyed visiting Pigeion Forge and Gatlinburg a couple of times while there, we especially enjoyed Cades Cove, we had 6 bear sightings a hugh buck, and some wild turkey, of course, we were always ready to be back at "A Walk in the Clouds", and would definitely recommend, in fact we would love to be welcomed back to bring our children and grandchildren. Thank you Noel and JP for sharing your beautiful cabin with my brother, sister-in-law, John, and myself, everything far exceeded my expectations.....Thank you!

Owner response: Dear John and Tina, I am so glad you enjoyed your stay at "A Walk In The Clouds". We love hearing this kind of review and look forward to your return. It is nice to hear that people love our cabin and enjoy it like we do. Thank you so much for sharing. Noel
I have to say, I was very impressed with my stay at A Walk In The Clouds. Driving up the hill, seeing the other cabins, I thought this one the stand out. The landscaping was exceptional, already decorated for Halloween! I took two friends with me and we had ALL the comforts of home. It was immaculately clean - even the decks! I didn't see a cobweb or a spiderweb on the deck! We enjoyed the very hot hot tub. It was fabulous. The WiFi worked beautifully, the cable worked beautifully - the kitchen is loaded with everything you could possibly need as far as cooking utensils. We made chili in the crock pot - We were so close to all the fun things to do in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, yet the cabin sits in a little town with a grocery store, bakery, hardware store, etc. You feel so UP in the mountains, yet have access to everything you could possibly need. I did not want to leave.

Owner response: Thank you so much for your kind words Deborah and the thank-you note you sent us was sooooo impressive. You will have to teach me how to do that. It really meant a lot to us that you took the time to do something like that and I will keep it. I will scrapbook it and treasure it and your kind words forever. Thanks for this wonderful review and we hope you will spread the word to all your friends and family. We count on returns and word of mouth and try to do everything we possibly can to ensure that. About the owner: Hi, this is my husband J.P and me (Noel), We are the owners of 'A Walk In The Clouds'. We love being in the mountains as often as we can, but in our spare time, we love ballroom dancing and motorcycle riding. I also like to scrapbook with my Croppin Cuties. We belong to 4 Dance Clubs, 'The Concordia, The Cheramis and The Vikings, and The Club.' We both still work. J.P. is a process manager for U.S. Steel and I'm a bookkeeper for a real estate firm. We live in Vestavia Hills, AL which is right outside of Birmingham. We have 3 children between us and 1 grand-daughter, Madison and we do think she is grand. She makes our hearts melt. We are Christians and belong to First Baptist Church of Irondale. We are leading the Single's group at our Church and are very blessed through this ministry. God has been so good to us and we give Him the Glory for everything in our life. We love being with our Family and Friends. Every chance we get though you will find us at the cabin doing things to it that will make our guest comfortable and happy.
Why the Owner Chose Pigeon Forge:
My husband and I bought this property in October 2002. Because of all the rain, it was slow building, but finally had it ready to rent July 2003. We have always been beach fans and when my brother-in-law asked us about doing this investment, we more or less just went along for the ride, never dreaming it would be something we would want to do. We fell in love with the mountains and the cabin life the first trip we made to look at the property and just love it more and more everytime we go up. It is close enough to everything to be convenient, but yet far enough away to avoid alot of the traffic and noise. We love our cabin and God has truly blessed us with our vacation home (A Walk In The Clouds) and we hope each guest that visits there will feel the same.
The Unique Benefits at this Cabin:
We don't have a swimming pool at the cabin, but Pigeon Forge Community Center is 5.26 miles away. They have a nice outdoor pool with a charge of only $2.00 per child and $2.50 per adult. Guest can also purchase a day pass for $6.00 to use the Community Center which offers all kinds of things including an indoor pool and work-out center or $20 for the whole week. We are also close to all of the Outlets and many shows. There are many things close by to do, but staying at the cabin itself can be plenty of fun. We get Season Passes to Dollywood, because we just love going there and walking through. We never get tired of Cades Cove. But I would be perfectly happy staying at the cabin, sitting on the deck and enjoying God's Beauty.
