Fifteen minutes down the road horseback, hike or fish Lost Creek Wilderness and the Colorado Trail, cross country ski and snow shoe over the top of Kenosha Pass, fish and boat the Tarryall Reservoir, hay ride or horseback the out skirts of Jefferson.
Drive 30 minutes to fish and boat Jefferson Lake or travel to Fairplay and find a famous hat maker, an old fashion ice cream parlor, antiques, restaurants, unique mountain shops, a bowling alley, a recreation center, a library, high country fishing and the Historic South Park Museum.
Within an hour visit Breckenrideg and Frisco where down hill skiing, snow boarding, cross country skiiing, restaurants, antiques, shopping, snow sculpture contests and music festivals abound. Drive to Salida or Buena Vista take in the art districts, book stores, speciality shops, restaurants, antiques and Arkansas River white water rafting. Splash in Mt.
