Why the Owner Chose St. Augustine
This home was purchased as a second home and a friend told us about the VRBO web site when we were looking for a way to list the house for vacation rental. St. Augustine is such a fun city and the house sat empty quite a bit of the time so it made good sense to rent it.
The Unique Benefits at this House
You will enjoy this beautiful house that has everything you need to cook or entertain. It is nice to walk or bike ride to the downtown and the many historic places and to shop on St. George Street. The drive or bike ride to the beach is aprox. 3.5 miles. The high ceilings give a calm to the house that is great for vacations. The city is so much fun to explore and also for learning about its history.

My family rented this home in order to prepare for my daughter's wedding. We just could not have been more comfortable anywhere else! This is a beautiful, spacious, calming, well-appointed home. The photographer came over to do pictures before the wedding, and there were four bridesmaids, the bride, the photographer, and his helper in just one bathroom! My daughter commented that with the beautiful house and backyard we should have just had the wedding reception there. This home will always hold special memories for us, and I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is a very nice home, extremely clean, and well maintained. A long walk or a short bike ride (bikes are on site) gets you to the historic district and river. The home has very large bathrooms and is finely decorated, and it provides a great place for several family/friends to enjoy a few days relaxing.

This property is excellent! The house and all it has to offer is amazing. My teenagers are in love with the kitchen! The care and quality of this property is above the rest. There is a peaceful ambiance that fills every room. The outdoor spaces add to the treat that you will enjoy here.
Owner response:We strive to give our renters the very best experience while they are away from home. Our backyard is a tropical oasis and we insist that everything is clean and well cared for such as white bath towel and white sheets. You know they are clean.

For the month of January 2010, my wife and I had the pleasure of staying at this wonderful well equipped home. The house has been beautifully restored retaining the original wood floors and mouldings. The kitchen has all the amenities, cookware, utensils and dishes that are needed for a gourmet cook. Lots of windows let in plenty of natural light. The bathrooms are spacious with lovely new fixtures. The house is located in a historic area of town just a 15 minute pleasant stroll along a small lake to the old section of town where the main shops and restaurants are located. The bicycles provided enable you to travel all around the town or the beaches for a different perspective. The backyard is well lancscaped with a series of palm trees providing a restful place to entertain or for a bar-b-que. The large front porch is a great place for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails and chatting with the neighbours. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property and would recommend the house to anyone visiting St. Augustine for a short stay or longer duration.
Owner response:Thank you for the kind words and what good care you took of our house during your stay.

For once, the pictures do not do the property justice. It is even better than the pictures! We loved St. Augustine. Lots to see and do... or choose not to see and do. It's a great walking city. We're a little too old to use the bicycles, but I'm sure they would be useful to younger renters. We had no trouble finding parking downtown on weekdays. The beach is a fifteen minute drive, but it was too cold for the water. Grandsons (6&8) enjoyed kite flying. The house is very flexible. We had a variety of short-term houseguests, as well as ourselves.

Dear Mrs. Painter, Jim and I are now back from our travels and we continually talk about how much we enjoyed our time south and, in particular, your home. We want to thank you for sharing it with us. We felt very comfortable there as it reminded us, in some ways, of our own home which is of a similar age and totally renovated. We also really enjoyed our first visit to St. Augustine, meeting the neighbours and getting to ride around town on the bikes. We did our best to leave the house as we found it and, due to some overshopping, left numerous food/drink items that we were unable to use in the freezer and elsewhere. Hopefully, your next guests were able to enjoy it. We hope that you will consider letting us rent your home again some time in the future. Hopefully, you and your family will also get a chance to spend some time there soon. Best regards, Helen and Jim P.S. You did a great job on the kitchen reno and I can see why it was chosen to be profiled in the magazine
