Pioneer Trail Cabin is a premiere retreat vacation home conveniently located in the heart of South Shore. This home is an authentic Tahoe cabin located on the same historic trail that once led the pony express, wagon trains bound for wealth to the Com stock Lode, and pioneers in search of the Wild West! To experience this cabin means to experience the very essence of Tahoe. Relax in complete privacy, under the sky among a canopy of pine and aspen in a pristine hot tub or wounder the area and view a tribute to our pioneering history. A genuine period trail wagon makes the perfect photo opportunity to commemorate your stay with your beloved family and friends. While on the ranch you will notice the magnificent gardens which are landscaped to a natural Tahoe setting with a lovely collection of Sierra natives. Step inside the cabin and prepare to be stunned. You will notice a tasteful blend of reclaimed redwood, cedar, pine, and earth gauged slate tile.
Pioneer cabin is easily accessible with a level entry and large parking area. The cabin is beautifully designed with 100 year old redwood floors reclaimed from century old farm houses. The beams and other cedar heart wood accents were all saved from old Tahoe cabins being demolished. Earthen slate tiles may be found through out the home. Although the cabin is immaculately clean you will feel comfortable and relaxed the moment you arrive. Do not let the term "pioneer" fool you - this cabin is completely furnished and equipped with all the modern conveniences of your own home while keeping in the original spirit of the old west.
In closing we would like to share with you as owners of this home, we strive to make this cabin user friendly, functional, clean, comfortable, and relaxing for all of its' guests. Why the Owner Chose Pioneer Trail
We love Tahoe. We have a hard time imagining living anywhere else. We are invested in our community (through our businesses, our relationships, our properties and some day our children!) We want to share quality time in Tahoe with our family and friends who come to visit. Our goal is to have a place we can enjoy now and pass on to the future generations of our family later. Frank and I really love staying at the cabin. We've worked on Pioneer Trail Cabin for years and it is now what was once just a vision in our minds. We really appreciate and enjoy what we have created and we know you will too. We tend to have a morning soak in the hot tub with a cup of Joe. We cook on the grill, play cards, and garden. We ride our bikes. We 'people watch' and walk around down town. We plan and take day hikes and come back for wine by the fireplace. We walk for groceries and just about everything else. We host dinners at sunset and lunches at the picnic table. We sled and play in the snow (it's not just for the kids. right!) We live in Tahoe year round. We own 2 Tahoe cabins we operate as vacation rentals. We personally handle every aspect of the rental (i.e. cleaning, booking, hot tub, gardens, marketing..) Our cabins are not in a property management program which allows us to control and maintain the strict standard to which we hold our properties. We strive to continually improve the quality of the experience for our guests. We are always available to lend a hand or help out with an unforeseen obstacle( i.e.jump a battery, help with chains, blown fuse, light bulb out, restaurant directions, emergency gift...)If you have special plans for someone (flowers,wine...) let us know how we can help. We are a family of four and we had plenty of room, everything was provided, the cabin was spotless, beautiful, centrally located....my kids wanted to move in! I have no doubt that we will be staying here the next time we visit Tahoe! Additionally, the mornings and evenings were very cool and the hot tub was put to use several times daily!! Thank you for a wonderful experience!

The cabin delivered in every way; the description of the accommodation and the location was spot on. We had an excellent week in the cabin - we could walk in to town for coffee and groceries or to the Gondola. The hot tub was a fantastic way to end each evening. Jeri was really helpful and easy to deal with; I would recommend this cabin to anyone.

Given how much snow we had in 11 days - 1.5 metres - the convenient location of PTC really made the difference. We'll be back again!

It was my second year in a row staying at the cabin...happened to be the week when a huge storm hit Tahoe with about 8 feet of snow. The owners were awesome in keeping the driveway plowed and walkways, patio and hottub shoveled! The cabin is in great shape, just as the description says...all amenities are there...the place is fabulous and I can't wait to plan next years trip! I would highly recommend this cabin! Close to Stateline and Heavenly...with a shuttle stop right outside the front door for those heavy snow days! Thank you Frank and Jeri for another great vacation week!

Stayed over the 4th of July weekend and had a great time. The owner was easy to deal with and very accomodating. The landscaping is beautiful front and back, we enjoyed the hot tub and even used the bbq one evening. The inside of the house is even better and open floor plan was great for keeping the family together whether in the kitchen or relaxing in the living room. (Loved the walk-in shower) We will be back here soon!

We got married in tahoe and this was where we stayed for out honeymoon and it was AWESOME. It is such a beautiful place and really close to everything. When you are inside the cabin it feels like you are miles away but in reality you are walking distance to the casinos and shops. I can't wait to stay here again.

The Pioneer Trail Cabin was perfect for our vacation get away in SLT this year. We will definitely return as the location was perfect and the home inviting. We were able to walk to the casinos and restaurants in the evening the the house was equally suited for grilling steaks, watching movies or relaxing in the hot tub after a day on the slopes. Jeri has done a great job with remodelling the home as it has both a relaxed mountain cabin vibe mixed with cool modern touches like the slate counter tops in the kitchen and bath. Great for a couple looking for a little place to call their own for a week!

We've stayed at Pioneer Trail Cabin in June 2009 for climbing/hiking trip. We love it the moment we saw it. Everything was perfect: location (close to the main roads, but away and quiet), unique design (wood & stone) and private patio. We highly recommend it and hope to return back.
