Unbelievably Perfect!

We absolutely loved staying at this comfortable and cozy mountain cabin! Brian (and his family) have done a remarkable job making it a perfect place to stay. It is in an excellent location, secluded without traffic noise or people around...just gorgeous scenery everywhere you look. Our 2 Goldens had the most fun of their lives! They loved playing in the creek just right outside our door and we loved sitting on the patio by them and listening to the soothing sounds of the rushing water...so therapeutic! Watching the hummingbirds, reading in the hammock, hiking with the dogs, grilling out on the wonderful deck, making s'mores (thanks for all the fixings!) all made for one of the most enjoyable and relaxing vacations we have ever taken. We stayed 2 weeks, but wished for more. There is so much to do there in the summer...the weather is glorious 58-80 degrees, just perfect! Because of the central location it is easy to go out for a few hours for adventure, sightseeing, shopping and eating. We loved Golden Gate Park, Nederland, Evergreen, Georgetown and Idaho Springs. The cabin is stocked with all kinds of brochures for fun things to do and great places to eat. All over the Front Range are spectacular views, but really the very best views and our greatest enjoyment was back at the cabin. We have been blessed to travel extensively, but this will always be in our memories as one of our favorite places to stay. In fact, we are already booking a trip back to this beautiful heaven on earth next year and have recommended it to our family and friends! Brian, thanks for being so open and honest with us (we had lots of questions!)and so easy to work with. It was an awesome experience for us....can't wait until next summer!

Owner response:Awww....thanks you guys! And thanks for leaving it in such great shape for my family to enjoy the night after you left. Looking forward to next year, and I'm sure there will be something new to enjoy as well (there always is - my Cabin is a labor of love to me). Sorry you are now back in the 108-degree brutal Texas heat ;-) - Brian

WOW!

We can recommend this cabin without hesitation to anyone who is looking for a comfortable, private get-away that's within an hour's drive of a dozen destinations in the area. We are picky travelers, but this cabin did not disappoint in any way! It has spoiled us for hotel vacations! Our family of five (children ages 13, 10, and 7) spent a fabulous week in mid-July. Hubby and I had a comfortable bed in a private room on the main floor; the kids were upstairs in the open loft (which includes a computer with dial-up access and plenty of room for them to have their own space). The shower/bathroom has been recently updated and we had plenty of hot water. The living room area was great for family-time: nice couch, soft chair, TV (Women's World Cup Soccer week!), place for playing board games or whatever. The full kitchen and outdoor gas grill meant we could eat "real" food and not have to dine out every meal, and Brian has enough extras so it didn't matter that we forgot to bring butter and ketchup. He also had s'more fixings, which made for some fun evenings around the fire pit. We did not get to eat many meals on the deck because of rain storms, but that's a perfect place to enjoy the view--which is forest and a lovely rushing stream that crashes down the valley. The dirt road to the cabin is easy to drive but without much traffic, so we enjoyed the solitude. We enjoyed having a hiking trail and the little patio by the creek right outside the door, and my husband took some beautiful photos of the scenery and the wildflowers nearby. We made day trips to Golden Gate Canyon State Park just 8 miles away. It has gorgeous hiking trails--some flat, some hilly, some wooded, some meadow--and only costs $7 for a day permit. We had a beautiful hike at Arapaho Pass/4th of July trail near Eldora; we trekked Mt. Evans and got within arm's reach of a mountain goat and its baby; we went to Red Rocks, Boulder, and Golden; saw the state capitol and the science museum in Denver; and generally enjoyed every minute in our "home away from home". The cabin is located at about 8600 ft elevation, so the afternoons were warmish (70's) with no humidity and it got down to the upper 40's overnight. Anyway, wonderful vacation and the cabin was a big part of the "wonderful-ness". We are keeping this one bookmarked and will be back again as soon as we can!

Beautiful Retreat

Guest: Kathy (Farmington, Minnesota / USA)
Date of Stay: 06/18/11 Review Submitted: 07/02/11

Our first trip to Colorado, what a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked into the front door, with music playing and fire going in the pellet stove. All I can say is WOW.. Brian you have such a beautiful home and I'm so thankful that you share it. We went on day trips sightseeing everyday, to return to a beautiful retreat. It just felt like Home. What we enjoyed about the cabin, beautful surroundings, loved watching the Hummingbirds, the sound of the Creek, campfires at night, the warmth of the pellet stove to keep us warm, hiking trails, the cabin was beautiful inside. The day trips we took were to Estes Park to Rocky Mountain National Park., we found a beautiful Chapel in Allenspark, Colorado on the way home called Chapel on the Rock ~ St.Catherine of Siena Chapel at Saint Malo Retreat Center. Red Rocks Park near Morrison, Colorado ( Amphitheatre was closed because of a concert so we didn't get to see it ) Drove to top of Mt.Evans...beautiful, Coors brewery, Garden of the Gods, Seven Falls, Cliff Dwellings, Cog Train to top of Pikes Peak, Royal Gorge, Enjoyed eating Pizza at Beaujos in Idaho Springs , Great Hamburger at the Stage Stop in Rollinsville , Great Breakfast..(cheap ) Red Dollys Casino in Black Hawk shopping in Nederland , Idaho Springs. Gambling in Black Hawk and Central City. We found a back road between Cabin and Central City,it was much faster. Thank you again Brian , your were wonderful to deal with. We Loved, Loved, Loved the experience. Our week at the cabin went way to fast. Terry & Kathy ~ Joe & Linda.

Brian's Little Gem!

Date of Stay: 06/10/11 Review Submitted: 06/20/11

What a little gem! Brian's cabin is everything and more for a wonderful getaway. My husband and our 2 dogs had the time of our lives. If your a hiker and a outdoors person this is the place. If your a person who just wants to sit outside surrounded by beauty and read a book and relax this is the place. There is something for everyone to do. The location is perfect. If you do not want to see another soul you do not have to. If you want to go out on the town for good food and spirits this is also the place. No matter what kind of activities you like this place is a home run. Everything you need is provided by Brian just bring clothes and yourself, you can eat in town 10 minutes away if you do not want to cook. We did a little of both. Grilling on the deck with a fire in the fire pit with the rushing creek and a glass of wine is just about as close to heaven as you can get.

We loved the cabin. It was very cozy. The patio by the stream was delightful. We were in town for a weekend long concert at Redrocks and getting there from the cabin was easy and with spectacular views along the way. There were some cool bars and restaurants just down the road a bit. The cabin was a great place to relax after each concert - was so much better than staying at a hotel (which is what we usually do while on tour). Thanks again. We loved the place and would love to stay again the next time we visit Redrocks !!!

We stayed for 6 nights and had the most amazing time! I can't think of anything that wasn't how it was described on Brian's website! We rode our 4 wheeler all over the mountains. Location was so convenient to many tourist towns. The sound of the creek could be heard in the cabin when we opened the window on the screen door. We loved this vacation so much we are already planning next year's.Thank you Brian for providing such a wonderful place to come back to after a day of fun filled memories!

My husband and I stayed at this cabin for our 3 year Anniversary. It was absolutely beautiful and the pictures just didn't do it justice. It was very welcoming and we felt very comfortable. We had such a great time! We were snowed in most of the time, and it was so nice to be secluded. We are from the Springs and we were able to finally experience Colorado! The wood pellet stove was on and running before we arrived making it that much more welcoming. We hope to be able to stay there in the Summer to be able to experience the River and travel more around the area. The house was fully stocked with anything we needed or forgot and the suggestions for local places to eat was perfect. We couldn't have picked a better place to stay!

My husband and I stayed at your cabin 10-3 to 10-11-2009, and had the best time we have ever had in Colorado! In fact, we liked it so much, immediately upon our return we booked 2 more weeks the following summer. The cabin had everything we needed and more. Staying at your cabin is not like staying at a typical rental property, it is like staying at someone’s home. A lot of time and thought has gone into making this cabin a perfect get away, and we cannot wait until we can return in the summer. The location is perfect for day trips to just about all areas in this part of Colorado, and if you like to take photographs, you will be in heaven. We packed a cooler with food and drinks (which was at the cabin) every day and set out to a new destination. Thanks!!!! Larry and Debbie Lee

This was our sixth year in a row to visit Brian's cabin for the 4th of July. The fireworks and festival and casinos in nearby Central City and Blackhawk were a lot of fun. We hiked a beautiful, easy hike at nearby Nederland. The cabin was much improved over years past and we greatly appreciate the time and hard work Brian puts in to making our stay enjoyable. We are forever grateful for his making our vacations completely satisfying. The best day of our stay was the one that we didn't leave the cabin at all.

We had such a wonderful vacation staying at Brian's cabin! We rented ATV's for the first 2 days and just explored around!! We drove to Rocky Mountain National Park and then back to Estes Park the next day. We enjoyed Waterworld park too. We all enjoyed the campfires, the hammock and especially the hummingbirds. Brian was so nice paying extra attention to detail. He left alot of information about the different things you could do. He left directions to the local stores which also was extremely helpful. We all so enjoyed Colorado!!!

My family and I stayed in Brian's cabin June 13th - 19th (2009) and had a wonderful time. It was pretty much everything we expected from the pictures and descriptions from this site. My 4 boys (17, 15, 13, 10), my wife, and I stayed comfortably in this little gem of a hide-away in the mountains of Colorado. We took the advice of stocking of groceries... pans, dishes, cups, silverware were all provided by Brian which was nice. Everything worked great! The view and setting of the cabin is fantastic... easily we could have stayed several more weeks. We also had 4 ATVs delivered to the cabin (also recommended by Brian)... and had a blast exploring the Rockies... we rode 60miles in two days... literally, 5 miles up the road from the cabin and you are in the wilderness (Rockies). I would easily recommend this to anyone; already I have a lot of co-workers looking at this cabin now. Hopefully, my family and I will return to this cabin next year. If you get a chance to rent a cabin, this is the one to rent! Probably my favorite part was the wonderful stream flowing just down from the cabin (20yds). Brian setup a table with 2 chairs... it was just awesome.

We stayed 4 days over the long Thanksgiving Holiday and enjoyed this lovely cabin! We awoke to over a foot of snow and the whole area was just magical! We rented ATV's and explored the trails, that was a blast! Then also spent 2 days snowboarding at Eldora and taking in the sights. If you are thinking about staying at this cabin you will not be disappointed. It is very well cared for and the scenic beauty of the area in which it is nestled is unparalleled to any other area that we have stayed. Highly recommend!

We really enjoyed staying at this cabin. It was very cozy and comfortable. Loved the pellet fireplace, the loft, the conveniences of home. TV, movies, fridge, stove etc all made our stay so nice and easy. The bed was really comfortable and the location couldn't have been nicer. The stream gurgling outside was really beautiful. On our first day there we rented 4 wheelers and drove up the street into the park where we had one of the most memorable experiences of any of our trips. We were alone, really alone with the most amazing scenery. Even though I'd never ridden them before, it was really fun. We went up some pretty hairy trails to get as high as we could. It seemed we were in the clouds. Fantastic! We did some gambling in Blackhawk which is really close, and won. I think I've found my new gambling spot since the casino's are all non-smoking. HOORAY for that, I can breathe. We did some shopping on Pearl street, bought some lovely artwork. then Hiking at Mt Senita in Boulder. We ate at the Dubai teahouse and loved the pizza there. The cabin was clean and comfortable. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying there to anyone.

I stayed in this cabin with my husband for 2 nights. The first night it snowed! Really beautiful. We were glad to shovel the snow off the walk but I'm glad I insisted on renting an SUV. This property is very private and peaceful. We wanted to hike in Golden Gate State Park and the weather was rainy and foggy but we went anyway. Afterwards we ventured to Nederland and had the best German food. One thing I was not aware of was the fact that Blackhawk is nothing more than a casino, and a big one at that. I'm not a gambler. No matter, the scenery is breathtaking, speaking as someone who doesn't have exposure to mountain views. I would definitely recommend this cabin to couples who like to explore the outdoors. The fireplace and pellet stove made the cabin oh so cozy. But I would love to come back in the summer and make use of the hammock and sleep with the windows open so I can hear the sounds of the creek that runs right by the cabin. The only thing I would change are the beds but that's just me, I'm a light sleeper and I missed my pillow top mattress. We got up early one morning and drove up the road to see the sunrise. We kept driving and ended up going through the Roosevelt National Forest. You'll need a 4-wheel drive vehicle for that but you'll have some pretty amazing views. This cabin has everything you will need. Well stocked kitchen and some staples provided. Plenty of firewood too. Enjoyed the movies on hand. Plenty of towels and even shampoo should you need some. Pretty much everything you will need is there. Just a great cabin. Can't say enough about it!!

This is the 5th time I've stayed in Brian's cabin in the last 3 years! Brian continually works hard to upgrade this gem of a cabin in Black Hawk, Colorado. Last weekend, me, 6 of my girlfriends and my 6 month old baby all stayed in Brian's cabin and had the BEST time. It is very relaxing and a nice way to get away from the city for the weekend. This was the first time I'd been to the cabin in the fall and the changing of the leaves was beautiful along with the great wheather. However, this cabin is also awesome in the snow too- my nephews (ages 10 and 12) LOVE to come to this cabin in the winter and play in the snow. Brian's cabin is well worth your money and vacation time! Don't miss it!

....or families with older children, but as a fair warning, this place is not for people who have babies. We did manage to rent a crib after a lot of research ourselves, but unfortunately there was no room to have it in either of the bedrooms, so we had to set it up in the hallway, which was drafty and allowed us no downtime as the hallway is open-plan to the living-room come kitchen. Also, we misinterpreted that there would be laundry facilities at the cabin. There were not and this was difficult with a 16 month old who was sick and had diarrhea during our first night's stay! There is a limited water supply and there are not many towels/washcloths. There are a lot of electrical wires and other hazards (e.g. wood screens that fall down) for babies to get into. There is also a set of very steep, narrow stairs. That being said, there were good door locks on cupboards in the kitchen area. Had we been alone as a couple, it would have not been a problem, but I wish we had known before we arrived about the difficulties for a family with a baby, who is on the move and very curious! Consequently, we had to forfeit our week (and rent!) there and move somewhere more suitable. I would recommend this cabin to people who are looking for an upgrade to camping and like being out in the sticks. It is worthwhile to note that the nearest town is a casino town.

Owner response:This guest liked and would have stayed at my Cabin, except they were worried about their baby getting into things, even though hundreds of babies have stayed at my cabin before w/out incident. Everyone has a right to their opinion though. I always keep the cabin very well stocked (see my 45 other responses). Also there is plenty of water, I just inform people not to waste. 7 years and over 400 bookings later, this is my first even partially negative review, so therefore I get 5/5 positve ratings 99.75% of the time. Please read all my other reviews. When people are asked to give my cabin a ranking from 1-10, my most common response is an 11 or 12 :-) Thank you!

Fourth of July just wouldn't be the same if we didn't spend it at this perfect spot in Black Hawk. We've been there for the past five years during the first week of July and already have it booked for next year. When we walk in the door we smile at each other and say, We're home! We both enjoyed the new hammock this year and the patio by the creek is our favorite spot for drinking coffee in the morning and a cocktail in the evening. We love the privacy of the cabin and the fact that it's so close to Black Hawk and the fun of the casino. If you're lucky enough to visit this little bit of heaven, you'll understand why we can't wait to return!

Owner response:I enjoy improving the cabin for you everytime you come, so there is always something new for you to enjoy - Love you guys! :-)

We honeymooned in Brian's cabin June 9th thru 15th. It couldn't have been any better! The cabin is nice, cozy and comfortable, and well stocked with the basics (and them some). It is private, yet close to anything you want to do. Absolutely great location. We were happy hanging out in the cabin and at the creek, and also explored the roads and towns around the area. Met a few locals, went to Rocky Mountain Nat'l Park, drove up Mt. Evans, even panned for gold in the creek! Had a great time at this cabin, loved it!!!!!!

We just returned from a wonderful week at Brian's cabin. It was the most relaxing vacation we have had in years. Brian was most hospitable and available by phone or email the entire week of our stay. Recommend visiting Red Rock Ampitheater and hiking the loop starting at the trading post. Also recommend spending some time in Boulder - especially, the hiking trails located in Settler's Park. Golden Gate Canyon State Park was also one of our best outings, and offered the best views of the surrounding mountain range. Best dining was the Red Lion, which is just outside of Boulder. Beau Jo's Pizza in Idaho Springs was also noteworthy. The three-pounder, although a little pricy at $30, was very fresh and not the least bit greasy (they put the toppings under the cheese).

My husband and I stayed at this wonderful cabin from 8/26 through 9/2. By the time our vacation ended we truly did not want to leave! We’ve been to Colorado many times in our younger years, and in the past we always camped. We found it was very nice to have a cabin to go back to every night, especially during those rainy nights! (Not to mention the wonderful bed) We did not need for anything---Brian has the cabin very well stocked, and information was always handy, including his phone number in case we had questions. (We didn’t---he has everything!) We LOVED early mornings down at the Creek, drinking our coffee with a good book, the wonderful scent of the trees and the earth, listening to the water racing across the rocks – it was the perfect way to start the day. This location is very central to many activities-Mt. Evans, Estes Park, Boulder/Denver, Breckenridge, Rocky Mountain National Park, Winter Park, St. Mary’s Glacier, several Colorado wineries, etc. White water rafting is nearby (it was too late in the season for us though) It’s just wonderful—thank you for sharing your mountain home with us Brian!

"Brian's Cabin" as my daughter calls it, is truly the best VRBO property we have ever stayed in. We have stayed here twice. We have ATV's, however the first trip we did not bring ours, so we did as Brian suggested and rented them. We LOVED the fact that we could jump on our bikes and be on the mountain within a few minutes. We had to go back and take our own bikes! We have incredible pictures of my family of 4 on a mountain top with glaciers all around us! The cabin is adorable, and I love the well stocked kitchen. We really enjoy the cozy feeling of playing hard all day and having a wonderful meal, while have a great fire and watching one of the many DVD's Brian supplies! Having stayed in dozens of VRBO properties throughout Colorado, we would suggest this one above all others. We look forward to when we can go back!

My wife and I spent a fabulous weekend at the cabin in mid-June. We have lived in Denver for more than 12 years and I had no idea there was such spectacluar scenery so close to Blackhawk. We followed Brian's suggestion of heading towards the mining town of Apex from the cabin and went exploring. While the roads would be passable by car, I would recommend a 4WD as it was rocky and fairly rough. We evenutally found a way to the Moffat tunnel and later to Rollinsville. From there, we returned on Highway 119 to Blackhawk. We thoroughly loved the cabin and its ambiance. Coffee in the morning and a cocktail at dinner by the creek was soooooo peaceful and relaxing. Our only regret was not spending more time at the cabin Saturday evening to enjoy a campfire and stare at the stars. We'll have to leave that experience for a return trip (hopefully, soon!)

My husband and I rented Brian's cabin for 5 weeks from the end of Feb through March. What a wonderful experience! Brian prepared for our lengthy stay so well and it became our home away from home. The master bed was so comfortable, the kitchen stocked so well and all amenities for a long stay were there. We enjoyed the walks up the mountain road and used the cabin as a base from which we explored Denver and the surrounding mountain areas. Eventually the snow melted around the patio area near the stream and we enjoyed many early evenings there. Would highly recommend Brian's cabin for a weekend or an extended stay like ours. A perfect cabin experience!

We've stayed at Brian's cabin three summers in a row and are planning to visit again next year. We give him a 15 rating out of 10. We enjoyed happy hour on the new patio set up by the creek this year. The solitude is so peaceful...the cabin is perfect for the two of us...so much to do in the surrounding area. We especially enjoyed the internet access this year so we could tell our friends about the great times we were having. Tim & Dianna - Fort Worth, TX.

Brian's cabin is incredible and the scenery unbelievable. By the end of the week we were totally relaxed and found it difficult to leave. The rustic cabin is nestled in a thick forest setting with a rushing stream nearby. Brian has supplied the cabin with all the amenities and lots of personal touches. The rental arrangements were easy to make and Brian answers questions very quickly. The Central City Parkway makes travel to Idaho Springs just a quick drive away with their Safeway, restaurants, mini-brewery, etc. We stayed there from 6/4/06 to 6/11/06.

INCREDIBLE HONEYMOON !! We arrived at Brian's cabin on 4-23-06 and stayed 5 wonderful nights for our honeymoon. Much to our delight, it snowed (alot) the first two nights! Absolutely gorgeous! As if it wasn't already beautiful enough! The pellet stove just made the cabin so cozy and romantic. We watched the "fire" and TV while seeing the snow fall in the background from the huge windows. We took Brian's advice and took several trips, we drove to Idaho Springs for pizza at BeauJo's - Delicious! We then drove on to Breckenrigde, Keystone, Loveland Pass, WinterPark, and surrounding areas. All beautiful. We also spent a day driving to Boulder. Beautiful drive and a wonderful place to shop, not to mention a very interesting place to visit. We probably had the most fun on the ATV's that Brian recommended. They delivered them right to the cabin and we rode them for two days! What a BLAST! We packed a lunch and ate at the top of the mountain - great views! We also enjoyed Blackhawk in the evenings - my husband won 600.00 with the first dollar he put in! We used the money to buy a new digital camera the next day which we took unbelievable pictures with the entire stay. We have decided to come back on our 5th anniversary - (if we can stay away that long!) We rate the cabin a big 10 and recommend it to anyone needing a quiet, romantic getaway. Brian is super helpful and just a phone call away to assist with questions and recommendations. Thanks Brian, we will always treasure our honeymoon memories at your wonderful cabin.

Well, it's taken quite a while to write something about this wonderful property. But, face it, if I'm still jazzed about it months later, there must be something to it. Brian's super professional and thoughtful. And our short -- too short-- visit in July was such a fine respite. You traveling greater distances may appreciate how close it is to Denver. Dip into town for a show or meal, then get back to mountains in no time flat. I like to cook and was very happy with the kitchen set up. Love the loft bedroom.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Your cabin was far more than we expected, the photos on your sight do not do it justice! We had no idea we could enjoy all the comforts of home and be completely secluded when we wanted to, and did we ever need that! Thank you again Brian, we will return :-)

What an Amazing Cabin!!! It was even better than we expected! The property was absolutely beautiful, very private and secluded, yet still close to all of the places we wanted to go. My son was in heaven the whole time! The Cabin is decorated beautifully, and extremely well stocked. You thought of everything Brian! We loved grilling outside, having campfires, listening to the stream, and relaxing at night to a fire and one of the great DVD movies provided. We had such a good time we plan on making this Cabin part of our vacation plans every year. Thanks for making the process so easy Brian, and for all of the memories!

We had a great time!! We stayed at the cabin 4/23 - 4/27/05. We received a much anticipated foot of snow the day after we arrived - which was absolutely beautiful!! We enjoyed a day trip to Estes Park & while there a drive through Rocky Mountain National Park - very gorgeous scenery & lots of wildlife to see. Also enjoyed going on 4-wheeler rides up the mountain trails!! We loved our first trip to Colorado & can't wait to come back and bring the kids with us next time. Thanks Brian - you have a great getaway!!!

This was, by far, the best winter vacation getaway spot... and all these guestbook comments are absolutely true! We were welcomed upon our arrival with a warm fire already going in the pellet stove - thanks Brian! The scenery is simply breathtaking and the accommodations are cozy, secluded, romantic and totally equipped with more than everything you need, including cooking spices, shampoo and a great collection of quality dvd's. We stayed for a week during mid-March 2005 and needed the four wheel drive since we got quite a bit of eagerly anticipated snow! The cabin is only a gorgeous 40 minute drive from Breckenridge - which is a great skiing/snowboarding mountain for all abilities. The Gilpen Casino - just a few minutes away in BlackHawk has a great new poker room on the second floor (with no loud 'casino noise') with pick-up games and no limit Texas hold-em poker tournaments scheduled several times a day. The locals are friendly and we were pleased to find that even amateurs like us can win tournaments! We also took a day trip to Estes Park and saw some great wildlife, endless amazing views and enjoyed some great micro-brews! The check-in/check-out procedure at the cabin is painless and Brian makes sure the cabin feels like your home away from home. You will love this cabin -and we will certainly be back to enjoy it in the summertime!

My wife, son and I had the best time at the cabin! We've stayed at some other places and this by far was the best! It was quiet, there was no one around and the short drives we took were breathtaking! We gave it a 10!

We thoroughly enjoyed the snow, the scenic drives, and the nickle slots. The cabin has all the ammenities of home.. hidden behind mountain trees. A perfect honeymoon!

Our little family of three stayed in the cabin Dec. 15th to Dec. 22nd 2004. This was our dream Christmas vacation and we couldn't have picked a more perfect place. We loved the setting in which the house was in - gorgeous! I had concerns that my 16 yr old daughter would become bored, but it never happened! Blackhawk is an excellent location to get to everything exciting in a short amount of time. We have plans to return to Blackhawk and will definately rent from Brian again! I highly recommend this great vacation spot for a lifetime of wonderful memories...by the way...the thermometer that you can view from inside the house will give you a clue as to just how cold it is outside! We never saw it get above 15 degrees! Thanks again Brian - your home is beautiful. The Johnfroe Family

The cabin was great! My wife, 3 kids(13,12,8), and I had a wonderful time at this cabin. We rented ATV's, drove the mountains, and visited some very cozy towns. I would recommend to take the peak to peak senic drive to Estes Park, a very beautiful little town about 45 minutes away. The drive there will amaze you. We were there from 12-9-04 to 12-12-04, and we had a lot of snow, it was quite the Christmas get away.

We had a wonderful stay and would recommend it highly to others. The cabin was extremely clean, cozy, and comfortable. The location was magnificent, especially for those of us who have to look at flatland and cornfields back at home (Iowa). It's right in the Arapahoe National Forest in a forested mountain region. Yet it's close to Boulder (we loved Pearl Street), Georgetown, and Denver. Great hiking in the area too. We'll be back! Thanks Brian (and to your brother too)!!

We had a wonderful time at Brian's cabin. It was perfect and very well stocked. We were able to cook outside and it was so convenient to the cabin. The furniture was absolutely beautiful and what a comfortable couch. We also enjoyed the pellet stove so much that we are considering buying one. We rode 4-wheelers everyday and the trails are great. We recommend going over to Rollins Pass. It was much better riding during the week when there were no crowds. We definitely hope to go back.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cabin - August, 2004. Our boys (5 yrs old and 3 yrs old) were in heaven. They had a great time exploring and having a campfire every night. The cabin is close enough to everything so it made a great base camp. We took a day trip into Denver, went to the Rocky Mountain National park another day, and headed over to Winterpark (Winterpark Resort - a must for young kids) another day. All were pretty easy drives, less than an hour away - great for young kids. There is also plenty to do pretty close by - fishing and hiking just a couple of miles away. We can't say enough about the wonderful sounds of the mountain stream right outside the door and the great fires we had inside at night while watching a movie after a long day spent out having fun. We really enjoyed being out away from the crowds and not being right next to other people in an adjacent condo. Brian was great to deal with and we would definitely go back!

The cabin has all the amenities needed to make it comfortable and the view out the windows in the great room is awesome. Can't wait to go back next year!

The cabin and area were everything you said they were! We enjoyed every minute of our stay. The rushing stream outside the cabin was a peaceful wonderful sound to fall asleep too. The cabin was clean, neat and well stocked. The trails in the mountains for ATV riding were superb. It was great to not have to trailer the ATV.... just take off down the rode and off you go! The scenery was everything you said it was and more! The information book you have for your guests is terrific! It was a pleasure doing email business with you. Responses were fast and informative. Thanks for a great vacation and we hope to be back to stay again soon!

Well we asked for snow and got it. This was an excellent getaway vacation week. The cabin was perfect, cozy & secluded. Brian even had the wood stove going for our arrival. The views from the area were breathtaking to say the least. The stream next to the cabin is not only beautiful, but extremely relaxing to listen to. Rocky Mountain National Park is a must see for all who stay here. The animals, landscapes and views are the best I've seen anywhere. Denver is close enough if you want a little civilization-type scenery, or you can stay at the cabin if you want privacy...the best of both worlds. Thanks again Brian for a much needed vacation, and we'll keep this address noted for next years stay!

The following night several inches of snow. The views in the area were incredible. Brian was awesome through the whole process. We can not wait to come back this fall. Thanks Brian!!!
