5 BR House Rental at Hotel Rates $386/night, October is the best month. One of WaterSounds newest homes is booking for Fall and Winter 2009/2010! Located at 85 North Watch Tower Lane in Watersound's "Beaches" District.

Gather the Family and Friends, conduct meetings and spend time with your business guests, or just rest and relax in peaceful solitude. Our beach and carriage house is completely furnished, all amenities provided so it always feels like you are coming home. It’s a three story 3,614 square foot house with 4 bedrooms 3 full baths, 2 powder rooms in the main house plus a separate Carriage House above the garage, with separate bedrooms

The design for this house was the result of the collaboration of the local firm of Thurber Architects, the Architect/Owner of the house with Interiors by Christie Brantley of Atlanta. The interiors provide for an open floor plan with soft contemporary beach tones, light and airy with an abundance of natural light. This home offers all the privacy guests are looking for and the convenience of a short stroll to the beach. (360 steps to the dunes or a tee shot using your driver)

Each level has something special and unique (Furnished Plans available):
1ST FLOOR: Master Bedroom Suite boasts a master bath with its own "rain forest" shower experience. The main living area, kitchen, dining, living room with its fireplace completes our first floor. You can dine a la fresco on the porch overlooking the stream or enjoy the outdoor courtyard and fireplace.

2ND FLOOR: Our 2nd King Master Bedroom Suite has a cozy fireplace and its own porch where we added a hammock for those lazy afternoons when you can relax to the sound of water (Watersound) cascading down the stream behind the house. The front Guest Bedroom has twin beds plus its own porch overlooking the dunes and beach.

3RD FLOOR: We could have built a tower as a place to sit but instead we built out a full floor and gained a large bedroom with king size bed and entertainment area with panoramic views of the beach and sunsets. The area sleeps more than two and would be a great place for the kids and their friends to meet and play games.

CARRIAGE HOUSE: It’s a house all by itself with a Queen Suite, full kitchen and bath and living room. There is a queen sleeper sofa in the Living Room just in case. But, if you are looking for an escape from the hustle of the main house this is a perfect place for the couple who longs for some quiet time.

This house comes wired; with 6 flat panel screen TV's including a 52" LCD HDTV in the main living room with DVD/CD player and built-in Surround Sound System. The Master Bedrooms, 3rd Floor and Carriage House all have 32” flat screen TVs while our Guest BR has a 27” flat screen TV. Bedroom suites have DVD players and there is wireless internet throughout and you can even go out on the porch. Plus there is free long distance phone service.

* Remember you can e-mail us for floor plans with furniture layouts for planning your stay here, and we will include our favorite restaurant picks and things to do we have enjoyed over the more than 20 years of vacationing on Scenic 30-A.

WATERSOUND AND SCENIC HIGHWAY 30-A:
WaterSound Beach, a decidedly upscale new gated community, is most famous for its mile long stretch of sugar-white beach hugged by significant century old sand dunes. Boardwalks meander throughout the 256 acre property passing a coastal dune lake, lily ponds and fabulous privately owned beach homes and townhouses.

Nestled along the sugar white sandy beaches of Scenic Hwy 30-A you’ll discover a mix of distinctive coastal communities like no other in the country. The collection of diverse architectural styles found in such short proximity here make residents, owners and travelers feel as though they have traveled the world without ever leaving the area’s 26-miles of coastline.

Most of the beach communities are purposefully designed to fit, rather than intrude, into the coastal environment respecting the delicate balance with nature and making this a world-class beach destination and an equally special place to call home!

    • I rented the house for a month and what a great stay we had in Watersound!, we really enjoyed the experience in this fantasic home. Very well laid out and extremely comfortable for all my family (six kids my wife and I). The bikes, common pool and beach were perfect. We're looking forward to come back next summer. You can't go wrong with this great home. Jaime

    • My husband & I have been coming to the area for 20 years yet this was our first stay in Watersound. We have stayed in most of the well-known developments but Watersound is now, BY FAR, our favorite place and the place we will definitely select for our next visit. It is quaint with its Nantucket- inspired homes, quiet with large, uncrowded, winding streets, & unsurpassed with its wide expanses of undeveloped beaches. "Inn Over Our Heads" is an absolutely perfect home in all aspects...location to beach & pools, home layout & design, decor & finish-out, and most importantly a very peaceful location. It is also very fairly priced relative to many other comparable homes in the area. I must say that the online photos, while accurate, do not fully show just how lovely the home truly is. Our family of six was never crowded and never waited on a bathroom for a shower. We especially enjoyed the very large dining room as well as the wonderful table & courtyard area behind the house beside the bubbling brook...SO peaceful & relaxing. Now that we have confirmed the desirability of Watersound and the appeal of "Inn Over Our Heads" we must add that John & Maureen Nipaver are wonderful. We typically vacation 4-5 times a year in different parts of the country and nearly always rent larger homes for space & privacy. We can easily say that John & Maureen are the most helpful and accommodating property owners we have experienced to date. They were very pleasant and extremely responsive as needed. We had a funny situation where my daughter left her orthodontic retainers on the counter the morning of our departure. The Nipaver's housekeeper, Argentina, helpfully located them and made the special trip the next morning to a Fed Ex store to ensure they arrived back in Dallas before our daughter left for summer camp. This type of 'above & beyond' assistance is more akin to friends/family than a business landlord. They were wonderful & prompt in all communications & transactions. It is only four days after our departure and I have already received my security deposit refund check. This is definitely a record as many times, I have to call and follow up with the property owner after several weeks have passed. Bottom line...Watersound, Inn Over Our Heads & the Nipavers all combine for an absolutely wonderful experience in one of the prettiest beaches in our country. You will not be disappointed.

    • March 7 -14, 2009 Thank you, once more, for giving us the opportunity to stay in your home. It is a well appointed, comfortable house and its location makes it very worthwhile. The kitchen and dining areas worked great for our rather large family – my husband and I have six children, one of whom is married and he and his wife were able to join us from Boston. I love to cook and we all love to sit around the table or island and talk whenever we are all gathered; in this regard the home was perfect. The sitting area proved to be a little of a challenge as, in order to watch a movie, we found we had to be creative and gather and re-position some furniture at times. The table by the sofa worked well, however, if the preferred activity was a board game or cards. The porches were lovely to enjoy at any time of day whether it was to read a book, have a drink, etc. and the little brook at the back of the house only added to the pleasure. The grill was also invaluable as we could throw something on it at the spur of the moment and have lunch or dinner. The martini glasses were appreciated as was the blender and different sized pots and pans. Your bathrooms were well appointed and very relaxing and there were enough of them to make life very easy for the lot of us, although, we found we ran out of hot water if we were all showering at the same time. I might suggest you have some beach towels around as we tried to get some by the pool but it seems during low season they are not available. Thankfully, I had brought a few with me and we purchased a couple more. This is just a suggestion – but one which may keep your bath towels from making it out the door and to the pool or beach. The carriage house is a gem of a place. We had my son and his wife stay there and they mentioned how it was probably larger than most Boston apartments and certainly much cleaner and more luxurious! We love the bikes! I tell my kids that I only ride a bike in Florida which is, unfortunately, true as we tend to get around with the bikes just as much if not more than with our cars. All in all, we had a fabulous time! Of course, the weather did help a lot – we got highs of 70-78 consistently throughout the week and lows of 55-60 degrees; the skies were cloudless and the nights were filled with stars and the moon was full making it possible to go on nightly walks and even admire the beach at 10:00 p.m. if we so felt. That did a lot to make our time there magical and provided a great respite from the cold weather we’ve had in Indiana since last October. The dunes are magnificent and like no other we’ve ever seen and I must say that’s what brought us to WaterSound in the first place. The white sand, of course, is my favorite of all in Florida, the East Coast and even the Caribbean! We’ll hopefully be planning a trip back sometime this coming summer. Sincerely, Elisabeth
