We are 3 blocks from the golf course and 3 blocks from Nehalem Bay State Park which has a boat ramp, and horseback riding. Go West to the mighty Pacific, go East to the Bay....all within walking or biking distance. Two different water worlds at your disposal. Some of the best nature has to offer...long walks on the beach, bike rides, campfires, windsurfing, kayaking on the Bay and Nehalem River. Witness the great bald eagle, fishing, crabbing, seal watching, seabirds, spectacular views, hiking or just relax and listen to the ocean !!
Expect frequent visits from a family of deer who have adopted our neighborhood helping themselves to our potted gerainiums on the deck.(spotted twin fawns this year)
Our home has a balance of painted walls, wood stair rails, vaulted beam, cedar-lined ceiling throughout with a masonry wood burning fireplace in the living room that towers the height of the building disappearing into the vaulted ceiling. Just built for blazing fires. Cozy, carpeted bedrooms with queen size beds..in one upstairs bedroom, along with the queen bed, are two queen mattresses on the floor in cedar-lined "ship's berths" which are intended for use with sleeping bags..kids love them, and they are a great place to hide for an afternoon nap or to read a book!!
It has a fully outfitted kitchen and laundry room with a shower for those cold, sandy little kids.
Covered back porch goes the whole length of the house and is great for rainy days and barbecues. Front deck and deck off of upstairs loft is wonderful for basking in the sun while you drink your morning coffee. Downstairs TV in living room is connected to cable, as well as one in one of the upstairs bedrooms. The other upstairs bedroom has a TV and DVD/VCR player for movies.
We invite you to give it a try and hope you enjoy your stay with us and that our home is all you hoped it would be ! Please take care of the house and area for others to enjoy and we are hopeful you will return for another stay.

Perfect Home Base for Your Oregon Coast Adventure!

This house is definitely as advertised: comfy and cozy -- also, it's just a short walk to one of the loveliest beaches on the coast so it's easy to shuttle kids/toys/lunch fixins back and forth as needed. The house itself is fully equipped with everything you'd need (LOTS of beach towels, easy access to a shower in the back room for washing off sandy tots) and also has a covered deck (with BBQ) plus a fire pit out back. It's a short hop to downtown Manzanita which offers a variety of dining/grocery options (the local market on Laneda has an impressive selection of wine/beer, yummy clam chowder in their deli, and pretty much all the fresh produce and pantry items [[many of which are organic]] you'd need to cook up some terrific meals). The best part of staying at this house, however, was the "ships berths" in one of the upstairs bedrooms. We had a few friends visit during our stay and on one of the nights we hosted a sleepover for 5 kids -- they all had plenty of room and were actually eager to get to bed since the space was so magical! I would recommend this house to anyone who is looking for a cozy, kid friendly, and centrally located home base that has ample room for 2 families of 4. Thank you Ginny -- we had a marvelous holiday in your home and we plan to come back again next year!

Thank you very much to the owners of this beautiful house. They are very gracious & accomodating. The house was even better than we expected. The location is perfect for a easy stroll to the beautiful beach. The house has lots of room & lots of dishes. The sand in the front of the house was a hit with our grandchildren. Even though they live in Manzanita, they wanted to be at our house!!!!! Can't wait to go back.

A great place to relax and spend time with family & friends. We found this home very clean and spacious, a great place for the kids. Kitchen well equiped. Large eating area for all. My grandkids loved playing in the sand off the front deck. Nice covered deck off the back we made icecream & had delicious BBQ's.

We stayed here for our 1st weekend in OR and loved it. We were looking for a house close to the beach and town and this is it. The beach is so close, only 1.5 blocks from the beach and the walk to town is only about 15-20 min. We loved the easy walk to the town playground too. The house itself is great. Very clean and great for kids. The downstairs has a large family room and the kitchen is great for family dinners. The bedrooms are a good size and my 3yr old loved the sleeping area on the floor in one of the bedrooms. She played in there for a long time. The owners are very nice and so accomodating. I would go back in a min and highly recommend it.

My family stayed here when we went to my brother's wedding. There were 8 of us, and everyone agreed the place was fantastic! The location is great, less than a mile from downtown Manzanita, and a block and a half from the beach. The house was actually much nicer than the pictures were able to capture; the house feels very open, light, and well-decorated. My family likes to cook, and we were thrilled that the kitchen was very well stocked with good appliances, kitchenware, etc. The kids absolutely LOVED the little sleeping nook just for them; they were actually excited when it was time to go to bed, which is kind of a miracle if you knew them. And we DID see deer one morning, which was exciting. Really couldn't have been happier, and fully intend on going back!

A great getaway,my parents were visiting from Scotland and living in Vancouver,BC we decided to expore somewhere new with them,so we decided on this home and this location,It was perfect ,up every morning and only 2 blocks from the golf course which was great, then only a short walk from the beach which was long and wide and seemed to go on forever,The town has everything you need and is full of nice shops and bistos, cafes etc.The Home itself is spacious ,well kept and is the perfect place for a relaxing family gettogether, plenty of beds and bathrooms and within easy reach of all the pleasures of the Oregon Coast,Its the type of place when you get to the end of your holiday you wish you had booked for more nights,We will certainly be back and the owner Ginny was so easy and pleasant to deal with. Thanks again from Tom,Gillian,Andrew,Jamie,Jimmy & Anne (Vancouver.B.C and Lanarkshire,Scotland)

We would recommend this property! We recently stayed for 3 nights & 4 days for a family summer vacation. There was plenty of room for us, which consisted of 5 adults, 1 teen ager and 2 children. This house was big enough that we didn’t feel cramped. The kids loved staying in the “bed forts”! These beds could easily fit 4 children! We were really impressed with how clean and well stocked the house was, especially the nice beach towels. The weather was wonderful, which allowed us to enjoy the back patio for a BBQ and a fire in the fire pit. We definitely want to come back again soon.

This is the third visit for our family at this beautiful Manzanita home. This trip was for the week end and it was adults only...three couples...we walked to the beach and to town and sat on the upper deck for coffee in the mornings. Cooked a couple meals in their wonderfully equipped kitchen and after watching the sunset on the beach each night we built romantic fires in the fireplace and relaxed with a glass of wine. Previously we have taken our family including grandchildren, teen agers and adults and have had the same wonderful time including wennie roasts at the backyard fire pit...We would reccomend this home for quiet romantic getaways, or fun & active family vacations..The home is beautiful and has everything you need and more. We look forward to another week there this summer. We enjoyed eating at the Pub, The Wave, and the outdoor Mexican restaurant on the main street downtown..The shops are a great adventure also...Have fun...we certainly did.
