Our private nature reserve is located in the hills above the Pacific Ocean on the southern tip of the Nicoya peninsula. Our unique location provides easy access to the beaches and towns of Mal Pais, Sta. Teresa, Manzanillo and Montezuma from a tranquil, private oasis.

The newly constructed cottage is perfectly designed for tropical indoor-outdoor living. It contains a fully equipped kitchen, dining area, living room (with additional sleeping area), bedroom with ample closet space and large bathroom with outdoor shower set in a small garden. The living areas of the house are open on all sides affording expansive views of the surrounding countryside and mountains. The house itself is constructed of natural wooden posts and beams and fits perfectly into the natural surroundings. Included in the rental cost are daily housekeeping and laundry services.

In addition to the house, guests have access to our spectacular infinity pool. The pool is perched on the side of a hill overlooking the lush jungle and the Cerro Frio mountains. A stone path leads directly from the cottage to the pool

Both the cottage and pool are set among lush gardens teeming with animals and birds, including monkeys, toucans, parrots and more. In addition, the reserve contains numerous fruit trees (mango, orange, lemon, papaya, starfruit and more) which are available for guests to pick.

The house is located less than a 10 minute drive from pristine Playa Manzanillo and a 30 minute drive from the towns and beaches of Sta. Teresa, Montezuma and Mal Pais. Please contact us if you have any questions about Costa Rica, the area or the house.

  • I don't even know where to start, first and foremost what an absolute pleasure it was to met Bill and Frank. They got this gorgeous private 'Casita' with all the amenities you could think of. The kitchen had almost every possible utensil, pots pans, cutting boards, gas stove, even Tupperware to store the food you cooked. The view is LUSH and we got to see howling monkies eating fruit of the tree. The house itself was just absolutely perfect for me and my girlfriend. I loved the outdoor open concept with living room and kitchen table outdoors, THEY EVEN HAVE THE SHOWER OUTDOORS!! Thats what sold me :) its privately hidden with these gorgeous flowers surrounding the shower.. they well thought out the design of the home. VERY SECURE AS WELL but in this area it really didn't need to be, we felt very comfortable safe. Getting food is just a 10 minute drive and waterfalls, oceans, surfing, not far from there place. I just don't have enough words to say about this place except that you won't be disappointed. Again I would like to thank Bill and Frank for being so nice to us, and offering anything we could possibly need. They very awesome hosts and Im glad we choose this place to stay.

  • The casita was the most fabulously charming house we have ever stayed in! The open-air rooms are perfectly built into the landscape of the jungle, with fresh fruit trees and howler monkeys right in front of you. It is beautifully decorated and there were times when we absolutely did not want to leave the house. There is access to a fantastic pool, overlooking the mountains. The path from the casita to the main house and pool is an amazing trek up and down the side of the jungle, but with clearly delineated stones to walk on. The casita is extremely close to beaches, quaint little towns, the river, and the jungle. Our experience there was incredible and not only would we recommend it to anyone, but we will definitely go back.

  • This casista is just what it says it is. A Lovely fully,equipped and maintained cottage with mountain and jungle view, surrounded by monkey's and toucans,set back off the main road. We chose this loacation because it was far enough away from the traffic, dust and beach scene, but only 15 minutes to Manzanillo and Cobano, and only a few minutes more to the lovely beaches of Montezuma, St.Theresa and Mal Pais. The open air casita boasts a truly unique flower-covered outdoor shower,and a comfy queen size bed. The great addition to this casita is the use of the lovely infinity pool, perfect for a dip after a hot day at the beach. The home-owners were fabulous to deal with and extremly helpful during our month stay. We hope to return again.

  • My fear in saying what I want to about how gorgeous the Casita is and how amazing the owners are is that it will be booked for when I want to return. The cozy casita is perfect for those who want to get away from it all, yet still be close to very private beaches. The attention to detail that the owners have taken to make it perfect are amazing. The kitchen is well appointed, the privacy unparalleled, the mountain location just right and yet it is easy to get down to gorgeous beaches but yet far enough to feel like you have paradise to yourself. From the towels, comfy bedding to coffee maker everything is well thought out! I cannot wait to go back for a week next winter. My only complaint is that I cannot live there permanently and might have to compete with someone reading this for the week I want next time!
