'Excellent accommodations!' 'Spacious & comfy!' 'Lovely, peaceful home.' 'Thoughtful details.' These are just a few of the comments you will read in the Wampler Guest Book. You will appreciate all of these amenities when you stay in our vacation home.
The Wampler House has a spacious Master Bedroom with a King Sleep Number bed, large dresser, and large closet. There are night stands with reading lamps by the bed. A ceiling fan helps you adjust the comfort level to your preference. Occupants of the Master Bedroom will also enjoy the 32' LCD TV with built-in DVD player. The adjoining bath includes two sinks, and a full tub and shower.
A second bedroom has a queen bed, chest of drawers, and closet. A bathroom with full tub and shower are across the hall.
The third bedroom, just off the living room, has a queen-sized Murphy bed and chest of drawers. The Murphy bed can be stored back into the wall if desired. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans as well.
The open living area is warm and inviting. The large sofa opens to a comfortable queen sleeper, and the love seat opens to a twin sleeper. Everyone will enjoy the 40' LCD HDTV with DirecTV Satellite. The large windows in the living and dining areas offer great views of the surrounding mountains. The dining area is accentuated with a unique moose antler chandelier that casts a warm light on the oak trestle table and benches.
You will love cooking for your crew in this well-equipped kitchen with gas range. A full array of spices are stocked as well as staples such as flour, sugar, salt, and cooking oil spray. Small appliances include toaster, coffee maker, coffee grinder, food processor, blender, griddle, wok, hand mixer, and crock pot. A pantry allows for all your food storage needs.
After a day of hiking, jeeping, or fishing, many appreciate the large laundry room to handle their 'dirty duds.' And even more appreciated is the fact that everyone can get a hot shower with our Endless Hot Water Heater!
Relax on the deck on the glider as you watch the various birds come to the feeders, or have your breakfast at the bistro table and chairs. Take advantage of the large gas grill...especially to grill your 'catch of the day.' Wildlife including deer, bears, marmots, bobcats and coyotes often wander nearby and can be watched from the front deck. Evenings can be spent listening to the river flowing in the distance.
If jeeping and hiking are more your speed, there are many, many trails not far from town. Within minutes you can be hiking to a quiet lake or a scenic overlook. Many are within walking distance of your vacation home and difficulty ranges from simple to difficult.
Within a quick walk is the Lake City Historic District. Here you'll find small gift shops, art galleries, museums, theatres, Lake City visitor center, restaurants and churches. Food shopping is also conveniently located just at the end of our road.
We invite you to stay in our vacation home that's close to town yet tucked away where wildlife abounds. Because we reside in the lower level of the house, we can easily attend to your needs if any should arise during your stay.
Have a large group? We also manage 'Mom's House' located next door. You can book both houses!

One of our very best ever VRBO experiences. Spotlessly clean, extremely well equipped and even the sleep number bed was great. Quiet street, very quiet and friendly people and just a great week. Our whole party (5 adults and three dogs) just raved about how comfortable we all were. We'll be back, as this house was certainly a highlight of our hiking trip.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, pet owners, girls getaway, families with young children, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, age 55+, sightseeing.

We had a great vacation! Your home is so warm & inviting. The kitchen is better stocked than my own at home & the laundry room was wonderful to have when we returned from fishing or the ATV trails. The master bedroom & bath is so roomy & comfortable and private. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality - it's great to have new friends in Lake City!Did you find this review helpful? The Wampler House speaks for itself when you walk in. We knew immediately upon arrival we were in for a great relaxing week. I've been coming to Lake City all my life and the Wampler House is the nicest place my family and I have stayed in so far in Lake City. The house is very comfortable and spacious. Our two daughters were thrilled to have their own rooms. This master bedroom is roomy with a large dressing and bath area. The shower was clean with plenty of water pressure and the bed was comfortable. The layout of the house is well designed allowing for separation from noise between bedrooms and between bedrooms and the kitchen/den area. There is a full laundry room that is well hidden away down the hall. Their is a balcony with a view and grill. I was happy with the free wi-fi and my wife was grateful for satellite TV. Lake City is a very nice town to walk in. I could easily walk to town from the house and stroll to restaurants and shops. It is an uphill walk back so I had my wife pick me up in town to go back to the house. We took a couple of hikes up hill from the house. Ocean Wave, the street the house sets on, connects to a hiking trial that leads to "?" Lakes. We were warmly met by the Wamplers! Suzie and Danny Wampler are a wonderful people. They bent over backwards to make us feel at home. The Wamplers live on the lower lever of the house, but that level is a completely separate with a separate entrance and is not at all an invasion of privacy. "Wonderful" is the word I use to label our stay in the Wampler House. I definitely recommend staying there.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1
