Hiking trail across the street all the way down to the lagoon. Beaches less than a mile away take your pick they are all good! My personal favorite, cycling on Pacific Coast Highway, Shoot down Poinsettia hit PCH and go north or south to your hearts content.

3 miles from Legoland,. 20 miles from Sea World and the San Diego Zoo, Museums, the world famous Birch Aquarium. Hop on the Harley and ride up to Julian and back during apple season!....the list is really endless!! This is Southern Cal at it's best, there is a world of options all right outside the front door!

  • My girlfriends and I stayed here this past Labor Day weekend (9/4 thru 9/7/09) and had a wonderful time relaxing in the pool and jacuzzi. The number of bedrooms was perfect for our group and was the deciding factor renting this place, including the kitchen size where everyone gathered most of the time to prepare our meals! I've already suggested this place to my other friends, relatives, and co-workers, if they need a place for a big group...I'm sure they will enjoy it as much as we did and I'm sure we can do a repeat of this rental! Also got my security deposit back right away...thank you, Bud!

  • Great Home in a great quiet street with everything you need.We had a great time this house is just perfect for entertaining, and just right for family holidays. We had family from aged 13 to 79 years of age there was something for everyone. The owner responds instantly to any requests and could not have been more helpful we certainly will book again when we visit California next time

  • We rented this house for our whole family to be together for Thanksgiving. Our children and significant others came from Park City Utah, New Zealand, Delaware and Colroado for the week. It was PERFECT! The house was great for families with plenty of bedrooms and the outdoor patio was the best. Hot tub and pool and fantastic views of the ocean and sunsets. We had the best time.

  • What a wonderful home! We had a family wedding in Carlsbad and filled the place with our children and grandchild. Every amenity we could think of is there - from the wonderfully outfitted kitchen, the well planned bedrooms and bathrooms, the tour information...and, of course, the fabulous pool, hot tub, fire pit and Tiki bar. We had so much fun it was lucky we made it to the wedding!!! Everything is so spaciously planned we could entertain our friends easily. Our family is already calling us choosing a time we could be all together again to relax and enjoy beautiful 1040 Sagebrush ! Thank you, Bud

  • Our family just spent a week at this home. It was a wonderful and comfortable trip for all of us. We especially enjoyed our family cooking and dining nights - with a little jacuzzi afterwards. We all had our own space, with plenty of room for everyone. The views from the backyard and deck are awesome. It was a vacation dream house for us! I usually don't find a bed in a vacation rental that is really nice - and these ones were all great! The amenities in the house were excellent from the bedrooms, to the firepit and backyard, and the kitchen. Thanks Bud for letting us rent your home. We really enjoyed the vacation.

  • Our family[6 adults and 3 children] just returned from a week at this great home. The home is not only very attractive, but also very practical for a family of our size. The kitchen/dining/family room combination was outstanding as well as the master suite. Also the pool area with its view of the ocean and fire pit was a hit every evening. We highly recommend this vacation home.

  • We spent last Labor Day at (insert name again) vacation property in Carlsbad with our best friends (4 adults/4 kids) and had a blast! We had endless hours of fun in the backyard pool with kids overlooking the ocean and we hit Sea World (20 minutes), Lego Land (10 minutes), and the beach (less than 5 mins) every other day. We never felt "traveled out" each day--honestly, after coming back every evening, it truly felt like coming home--only better! We have more pictures on our walls from this vacation than any other. We can't wait to go back

  • Last year's summer vacation was one of our families best ever! Our kids are counting the days until we return. We decided to skip the hotel chains and stay at--insert name here :-)--vacation property in Carlsbad. 5 minutes to the beach, a bedroom/bathroom for everybody, and SO relaxing! My goodness, the bed we slept in was the best ever! After a day at the beach, we sat around the backyard fire pit/spa area and watched the sun set over the ocean. We DID NOT want to leave. My wife is a chef and the gourmet kitchen was an extra added bonus. We brought groceries in and actually saved money by not eating out every night. Stay there if you can, it made our family vacation what is supposed to be--relaxing and fun! I can't speak highly enough our our experience

  • Bud and Kristin Thank you so much for sharing your incredible home with us. It is truly one of the most beautiful homes we have been in, let alone, pretend is ours for a week! True luxury living at its finest. The beds are so comfortable, we slept like babies with windows open amidst the peaceful ocean air. Having a glass of wine, in the spa, at sunset, ocean view, gazing at the amazing fire/water sculpture, feeling the cool San Diego breeze, these are all moments Ruth and I will cherish. The kids also loved that we were 5 minutes from Lego Land and 3 minutes to to a seemingly private beach (I know its public but where was everybody?!) where Izak boogie boarded all day and Avri built sand castles and buried Daddy in the smooth, clean sand. Starbucks, Safeway and great restaurants 2 minutes away, incredible convenience to anything our hearts desired. Truly one of the best vacations we have ever had. We look forward to next summer so we can do it again!

  • WOW - what a treat! We've been "baited and switched" before on other CA rentals - but this one made up for all the bad ones! It was such a beautiful home that I found myself expecting potential home owners to walk through at any time as it felt like being in a model home!! The View: AWESOME; the home layout: SO FUNCTIONAL; the ammenities: SoCAL ENTERTAINING AT IT'S BEST!! Great QUIET neighborhood with EASY access to everything (beach, shopping, grocery, Targets, stip malls and freeway). WE HATED TO LEAVE THE HOME!! Looks like we found our annual CA beach week home for sure!!
