Even though Lake Travis is very low, due to an ongoing drought, we have a wonderful, large swimming pool to cool off in.This comfortable, waterfront, rustic cottage on the shores of Lake Travis, in a natual, wooded setting, is perfect for families or couples or girlfriend gatherings who want to kick back on the large deck overlooking the pool and lake to watch the beautiful sunset. Swim in the crystal blue water of our large private pool, or just relax and enjoy the sun and the breeze. . You'll feel like you're in a secluded tree house as you grill steaks or burgers under the trees by our great deck and watch the sun go down, then enjoy your meal outside on the deck or by the pool. The cottage is warm, cozy, private and comfortable and has all the ammenities that you would need plus all hardwood floors and wood paneling. You'll feel like you're "away from it all", and yet you are so close to the many attractions of Austin. The cottage is located only about 15 minutes away from prime shopping like the brand new Hill Country Galleria Mall, and is close to many restaurants like the Oasis, Iguana Grill, Rocco's, and many others. It is just a short drive to Lakeway and Falconhead for those guests who want to play golf. It is also convenient for day trips to Fredricksburg, New Braunfels, Kerrville, San Marcos, Wimberly, San Antonio, wineries, etc. This is the perfect getaway for a weekend or longer. Come relax and feel the stress melt away!

Year Purchased: 1994
My husband, John, and I bought our beloved lakehouse in 1994 for the use and pleasure of ourselves and our children and grandchildren. We celebrated every holiday, except Christmas, at the lakehouse and it is filled with years of wonderful memories. It was such a serene and peaceful getaway for John and me, away from all the cares of the world until my world was shattered lin 2008 when John died. Knowing that the lakehouse would never be the same for me, without John, one of our sons, who has a vacation rental house, suggested that I give it a try. So, I hoped that other people would enjoy the house and the wonderful natural setting, great decks and our large private pool. Our first two seasons were very successful and our guests loved the house, the setting and the location.
Why the Owner Chose Spicewood
We absolutely fell in love with the location of the lakehouse. It is a beautiful, wooded lot and is only about 30-35 minutes to our home in town and about the same distance to downtown Austin. Although the location is very secluded and private, there is wonderful shopping, entertainment and great restaurants within a short drive from the house.
The Unique Benefits of this House
We have a really large private pool that was refinished and retiled in 2009. Beautiful!

This lake house is perfect for a relaxing escape with the very large pool and Lake Travis out the back door. Everything was clean and comfortable and the owner is extremely nice and professional. The drive to the house is beautiful yet very convenient to downtown Austin or a drive out west into the hills. Expect to see many deer, foxes and other wildlife. A great vacation house that we'd love to rent again!

Eight of us girlfriends stayed here Labor Day weekend and had a blast. The pool is big and beautiful and the lake is right in front with beautiful views. The price can't be beat cause I look at a lot of other places. Saw deer along the lake in the morning. I would recommend this place to anyone.

My husband and I enjoyed staying at this lovely home. The view of the lake was great and having our own swimming pool was nice as well. Everything is provided for your comfort and there is no reason to leave unless you want to explore the area. I would definitely recommend this rental to my friends.

What a wonderful stay we had at this warm, cozy lake cottage that is so comfortable and filled with history-we wish our visit had been longer. We are from New Jersey and had a grand time enjoying beautiful, warm Lake Travis, the peacefulness of the deck and lovely pool, and being together with our family.This lakehouse had everything we needed-the owners are wonderful and caring. We hope to make this a regular vacation spot!

The house was very comfortable for the 6 of us staying there. All the beds were so comfortable including the pull out trundles. It was great getting into our own private big pool everyday. We were wishing we had booked for longer than 4 nights. Everything we needed was provided and the owner's made sure we could reach them if needed. It is a great "away from it all" place. Amy's ice cream at Hill Country Galleria was awesome!!! We would love to return!!

My five friends and I stayed for a long weekend and we had a fabulous time. There was really no reason to leave the house. In fact, we went from the deck in the morning, to the pool in the afternoon, to the dock in the evening! Everything was clean and well accessible. The owners were so helpful and quick to respond to my questions. We definitely hope to be back!

My family felt very comfortable staying at this rental home. It is very kid friendly. The owners are great and go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. The location is another plus because you can do things in Austin, Spicewood, Horseshoe Bay, and Marble Falls. We were there for a wedding at the Spicewood Winery -- which we would recommend visiting. It is about 20 miles from the house and is easily accessible. We intend to rent this lakehouse again and probably for a longer stay. I will definitely recommend this place to friends.

We had such a wonderful stay at your lake house that we are planning to make this an annual trip! It was so relaxing watching the sunset as we lounged on the deck. Having the pool to jump in to cool off was an added bonus. The house is so warm and inviting. We also took advantage of the great restaurants in the area. It was overall a wonderful experience.
