A newly constructed beautiful home in Irish Hills/Brooklyn area of Southeastern Michigan. Located in a quiet neighborhood on Mirror Lake which is a private 90 acre lake. The accommodations are spacious and comfortable. Enjoy the sunrises/sunsets on the numerous decks and patios. Watch the raccoons climb the tree from the relaxing hot tub on the deck, overlooking the calm lake. Observe geese, swans, cranes, and blue herons daily as they feed down front in the shallows. If fishing is what you're interested in, Mirror Lake is a great fishing lake with many Blue Gills, Bass, and Northern Pike. After a good catch, cook them up on the open fire pit near the lake on one of the decks.
The home is centrally located to many other activities near by, cider mills, wineries, antique stores, hiking and bike trails, etc. Race fans and NASCAR fans, Michigan International Speedway is just down the road about 10 minutes. With the extremely close proximity to the track (MIS), it is simple to avoid the race traffic by traveling down one of the back roads leading directly to the home.
Be sure to ask about the pontoon rental.
And if you are a fiend for mojitos, enjoy picking your fresh mint along the lake and following our famous recipe for a few refreshing drinks, or experiment with your own for that perfect taste.
Enjoy any part of the mornings, days, evenings, in the relaxing hot tub to relieve you of your aches and pains. Come here and just relax from the everyday stress, big or small.

Our stay at this rental was very nice! Accommodations were very nice! The house is beautiful and sits on an equally beautiful piece of property. The surroundings are very peaceful and quiet ~ great place to kick back and take it easy. The owners were very helpful and accommodating. Lots of good place to eat and shop in the area. If you like to go antiquing - this is the place for you!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+.

My dad rented this spot for four days for the family. Awesome location and space was clean and very comfortable. Owners were very warm and welcoming. I would rent this location again plus I caught the only perch! :-) Only an hour away from my home but had that "up north" feel on a gorgeous private lake.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Our family of 5 enjoyed the most relaxing lake home vacation this past July. Brent and Mary are so easy to work with and made our stay wonderful. We enjoyed tubing off the pontoon boat every day and relaxed in the hot tub & fire in the evenings. We loved that we were one of two boats on the lake. The barbecue grill came in handy so we didn't have to leave the beauty of the lake. I would highly recommend this vacation home to families or for couples. The home was very clean which was VERY important to us, we plan on coming back next summer. Thanks Brent & Mary!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We spent a week on Mirror Lake at this beautiful home hosted by the most gracious couple we have had a chance to meet. There are enough great reviews on this site about this home and the owners, so we had high expectations to start with. It would be no exaggeration to say that the home and the hosts both far exceeded our expectations!!! There are many reasons this is a perfect vacation spot..... THE LAKE... We did have some apprehension about the size of the lake, but once we got there, we realized it would work to our advantage. It is a small lake but if you are looking for a safe place for you and your children to swim and tube, you could not pick a better spot. Since the lake has restricted access, it is safe and clean. Our 10-year old spent as much time as she could in the water and on the tube. There is a pontoon that you can rent from the owners for the week and we would highly recommend it. AN IMMACULATELY MAINTAINED HOME.... The house itself was clean and well-equipped with everything you need, An amazing collection of WII games kept our daughter busy when we had to retreat indoors. There is no gas stove in the unit but the gas grill with a side burner outside more than makes up for it. Nothing beats grilling / cooking outdoors with stunning views of the lake!!! The house has beautiful landscaping as well, making it perfect both indoors and outdoors. There is also a firepit and deck right at the water's edge that you can take advantage of. With so many options onsite, there was little reason to go anywhere in search of things to do. Still, a short walk from the house brings you a sandy beach and a park for kids to play. THE HOSTS... Mary and Brent went out of their way to make our stay memorable. They have the unique ability of being there to help you without being intrusive. We came away from our time on Mirror Lake knowing we will definitely return to their home again. HOT TUB.... The hot tub on the deck is fantastic, but we would have to return to take advantage of it. It was much too warm during our stay to be able to use it. The only negative of this place is .... you won't want to leave and the return to reality after time spent there is a difficult transition to make!!!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

My husband & I had one of the most relaxing vacations ever here. Our 2 adult children & one of their friends also visited for a few days & it was great! Coffee on the patio in morning, jogging or biking everyday, pontoon boat & swimming, great grill for cooking all our meals, relaxing hot tub and great fire-pit. Mary & Brent are the perfect hosts, there when you want them, yet invisible if you want privacy and Mary"s mojitos are the best! The accommodations are everything advertised. A stove would have been nice since we cook most meals but we managed fine without it. Great area with a lot to do if you want to be busy or like us just to "chill out" for a few days. We left well rested & rejuvenated, would love to come back.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Originally went for the Nascar race and this is a perfect location for easy access to and from the track. Had a great time at a beautiful location on the lake. Peaceful neighborhood, great accommodations and wonderful hosts. Wandered around the general area and found some unique restaurants with good food at awesome prices! Will definitely be the location of choice when we are in that area again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

I had to spend a week working on a project at MIS (Michigan International Speedway), and I'm not a camper, so my options for an overnight stay were limited to Motel 6. As a female, frequent business traveler, I decided to check out alternative options. In looking on VRBO for a small, lakefront property, I came across Brent & Mary's spectacular home. The minute I arrived, they were helpful and welcoming. The unit is actually the lower level walkout of their private home. Mary instantly whipped up a Mojito with mint freshly picked on their property. The accommodations were similar to staying in a hotel suite ... Queen bed in a separate room, living room with large TV and leather sofas, kitchenette (no oven or cooktop) with a microwave and 2 dishwasher drawers, coffee pot, etc. The luxurious bath, just off the kitchenette, has a walk-in tiled shower (no tub) and all the amenities you'll need. Each morning, before heading off to work, I would stand in the lower level patio area, and watch the sun rise over the lake; each evening, I'd return from a grueling day at the track, and absorb the beautiful lake views, as the stress just visibly melted away. AND THAT'S NOT ALL! On my last day there, I invited my parents and son to meet me for a day on the lake in the owners' fabulous pontoon. Brent first gave us a private tour around Mirror Lake, and then let us captain the pontoon ourselves. We spent an amazing, and memorable day drifting around, as Brent was nearby to assist if needed. The pontoon was perfect for my elderly parents. I had such a wonderful week, that I extended my stay by a day, and my husband met me on the last day, where we enjoyed the huge outdoor jacuzzi for an evening before heading back home to reality. Because this unit is in Brent and Mary's home, it felt more like staying at an inn. Being alone most of the week, I found it very safe and reassuring, knowing they were upstairs. Mary even invited me over to have dinner with her family on taco night. I took her up on the offer, because it is rather remotely located, and I was tired of driving. Thank you, Mary. The best part of the stay is the owners who are wonderful, kind, accommodating innkeepers. Thank you for an unforgettable week. My other business trips will now pale in comparison!Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

Our family really needed to get away from the hustle and bustle of the City before the start of the school year. We chose Brent and Mary's place because it was extremely affordable, and was situated directly on a beautiful lake. We also would have access to a pontoon boat so that we could do some fishing. We were greeted by Brent and his nine year old nephew when we arrived. After showing us our fully furnished living area, we left for a nearby town for groceries, and came back for our first jaunt out on the lake in the pontoon. Over the next three days we caught alot of Bluegill and Bass, and we also enjoyed just cruising around the lake. It was peaceful and very relaxing. Hats off to our little savior, Brent's nephew. We found out later that he would always keep an eye on us when we went out to fish. It was a good thing!! One day there was a temporary issue with the air flow from the gas tanks to the motor on the pontoon. After 20 minutes of acting like I knew what was wrong, I looked up to see him standing up in the row boat and rowing out to us. It was a sight I'll never forget. We were fishing again shortly thereafter. I would highly recommend this property to anyone who simply wants to get away and relax for a few days.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, families with teenagers.

Excellent experience! This one bedroom, full bath, full kitchen, hot tub, lake front rental is amazing. We spent a luxurious girls weekend there and would do so again! Short, short drive to Lansing. (We were in town for MSU's graduation) Worth the drive to Lansing for the excellent amenities and privacy.Recommended for: Girls getaway, families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with teenagers.

From the moment we arrived the owners, Brent & Mary were hospitable when needed & "invisible" when we wanted our privacy. The list amenities is unbelievable; Dish TV, Blu Ray, Wii, hot tub, full kitchen.....& so much more. This is a great place for a family vacation, romantic getaway or if you want to finish that novel you've always meant to publish. I can't say enough wonderful things about our time spent here.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway, age 55+.
