  My family vacationed at this cabin over the summer and a wonderful time! This would include two young boys and a grandmother. The cabin is close to Blue Ridge Parkway, Boone and West Jefferson-great location but yet 'away from it all' as well. We ventured out and enjoyed Tweetsie Railroad, along with numerous stops along the Parkway. The cabin is full amenities. The adults enjoyed the covered porch with coffee in the AM/PM, while there was plenty of entertainment for the boys! There is waterfall on the way to the cabin that had hiking trials around it which we made several visits too, very pleasant. The cabin was clean and and neat and we felt at home.

  This is the second stay in two months so we can say we really enjoyed our visits. The home is attractively decorated and very comfortable. I look for open spaces and how much comfortable funiture is around for everyone to get settled into to relax and this house meets those standards. It's hidden away in the mountains but close enough to Boone and Blowing Rock for afternoon getaways but don't plan to come and go alot in one day. There could be a few more cooking utensils and platters for larger meals if you plan to cook in alot. The grounds are not landscaped but its a new property and I'm sure that will come later. Overall it's a good stay and Rose was very helpful and accommodating. I'm sure we will travel that way again.

• Great Labor Day weekend!

  A group of 8 spent Labor Day weekend here and had a blast! The cabin is huge and nicely decorated. It is private, but not desolate. We loved sitting on the swing listening to the rain. The kids loved the loft bedroom and having their own space. The pool table and hot tub were great! Loved having the linens included. We all made several trips to the neighborhood waterfall both by hiking and car. We want to go back!

  This is one of the nicest cabins that I've stayed at in the Blue Ridge Mountains! We've stayed at quite a few! The owner was very accomodating from the time of booking, even though it was last minute. The cabin was very clean and had plenty of space. It was very well decorated with a charming rustic feel. It is very well furnished, and had all the luxuries you could wish for. There are plenty of hiking trails throughtout Buck Mt, and a waterfall a short walk away. We would definetely like to return to this cabin!

  My family and I and a few of our friends stayed at this wonderful home last fall. It was very relaxing and as described. I would stay there again. The owners were very easy to work with and made our weekend stay enjoyable even tho it was very 'last minute'! We would recommend. A big 'Thank you' to the Freimuths!

  We had a great stay at Buck Mt. We were rained in most of the time, but despite the bad weather we loved the trip. The house offered lots of fun for us and the kids. We loved the hot tub and the game room. We spent lots of time sitting by the fireplace or in the big eat in kitchen. We would love to visit again oneday.

  We stayed at Buck Mountain Retreat between Christmas and New Years 2009-10, and had a wonderful time! We had four adults and 6 children, and there was plenty of room! The cabin is beautiful and well equipped. The location is perfect; only about 20 minutes from Boone and all the Ski Resorts. Our children had a blast playing on the property and hiking in the woods. We saw lots of deer, too. We will definitely consider staying at the cabin again! The Freimuths were great to work with!
