We highly recommend this Cabin to anyone who is looking for a location to spend a quality weekend or vacation getaway with family and/or friends! The home was decorated beautifully. Everyone loved their room with the simply touch of country here and there. The accommodations were very comfortable. No one complained about not sleeping well. and, with three bathrooms, there was no waiting time for anyone, which made it nice. There was plenty of hot water and towels for all of us. The kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. There was plenty of pots and pans, dishes, bowels, utensils, cuttingboards, spices etc.. You do need to take your plastic wrap, tinfoil and trash bags. The panoramic view from the livingroom windows was beautiful, and you can see the lake which is located across the street. The livingroom was large enough for all of us to fit in and watch a movie on the big flat screen mounted on top of a beautifully stoned fireplace. The fresh flowers on the beautifully glass coffee table was an added extra touch, not to mention the afghan on the rocking chair. Besides the fireplace in the livingroom ( which works on gas) and, the wood stove in the gameroom (which works well with a duraflame, read menu book for caution), you also have central air and heating. We had plenty of privacy. We felt secure knowing that there were security cameras located outside of the cabin. Be aware that there is a maximum limit of four vehicles in the driveway with no street parking allowed. There were tons of things to do. We went out for an early morning walk. We went bike riding. We rented a pontoon and fished off the boat. You can hang out on the deck and BBQ, (we suggest you bring your own patio umbrella) and still have full view of the children playing on the swing in the fenced backyard, sit in the jacuzzi which was very clean and well maintained, play pool, air hocky, pinball machine, foosball. There was also a closet filled with boardgames and playing cards. I forgot to mention the piano in the livingroom. We all woke up on Saturday morning to the sound of Chop Sticks! Lol! All in all, The Sudders have thought of everything! They were quick in responding to all our e-mails. They worked with us to make our vacation possibly. Thank you David and Darla! Thanks for everything!

Our family stayed at the Suder's cabin and had a great time. The cabin is absolutely beautiful and had all amenities one could need. The children were entertained in the game room and we all enjoyed the hot tub. I would highly recommend staying here and we will definately call them again to rent.
Owner response:Thank you, Lori. We would love to have you back.

This home surpassed my expectations!! It has tons of space and lays out perfectly for two families travelling together and/or larger families with multiple generations. There are three levels of living areas and bedrooms so everyone has plenty of room to spread out, whether enjoying movie night, a game of pool or even drinking games! (wink!) The owners must take a lot of pride in keeping this house in very tidy condition. They also provided every amenity that we needed for a laid-back and low stress weekend. Clearly, the outdoor jacuzzi hot tub helped to ease sore muscles after a long day of skiing. Also, the full size washer and dryer were a great plus for drying our snowy clothes. Overall--a great experience and the owners were a pleasure to work with. Thanks so much for the hospitality!

I rented this home for a our annual snowboarding trip for a group of friends. It was literally perfect for our needs! We had plenty of room so that each person/couple had thier own room, but more importantly, it had space for us to spend time together as friends. We enjoyed the pool table, made meals in the updated and large kitchen, and the dog enjoyed the yard. It's also super close to everything - the lake, the Village, and the ski resorts. Working with Darla was so easy, and she is so helpful. We will definitely look into renting this property again.

We had a great vacation at this property. We celebrated my boyfriend's 30th birthday, and everyone had a great time! The guys loved the games, pool table, air hockey, etc. The hot tub was a nice treat as well. It is a perfect place for a group of friends, families, or couples. We had plenty of space! The kitchen was large and well supplied with dishes, utensils, etc. The house was fully decorated and felt very cozy. The lake was right across the street! Big Bear is a beautiful getaway! We all came from San Diego, and it makes you feel like you are not even in California! Big Bear Village, ski lifts, and snow tubing were minutes away, very convenient! We were thinking of making our trip an annual event. I would definitely recommend this property!

Excellent place with lots of nice amenities. Plenty of room for sleeping. Nice kitchen and grill. Our only minor problem was that the kitchen did not have a cutting board, at least not that I could find. Strange right? That's just a small thing though. Everyone had an awesome time.
Owner response:I am so glad you had a good time and enjoyed your stay. We actually have 2 cutting boards in the kitchen. Sometimes previous renters put things away in places that are not obvious. I have found them on end on the side of the cabinets and on top of the fridge.

Two families - (8) people total rented the house for the weekend. We had a wonderful stay and were very happy with house. The owners are were very helpful and organized throughout the entire process. The house is well maintained, great quality throughout. The kitchen was great for cooking meals - granite, big sink, all the utensils/gadgets you'd need. Loved the big table for dinners. The location is close to the water, close the The Village. We went sledding in Snow Valley for the day and enjoyed staying in the rest of the weekend. The jacuzzi was very well maintained and a great bonus. Having three bathrooms was great as well. There is a pool table, foosball, air hockey and a pinball machine. We'd rent again if we make it back to Big Bear!

This year for Christmas my husband and I decided to give our two adult children, their spouses and our 4 grandkids the gift of time. We choose Big Bear and realized there were many homes to pick from. The Suder home and all that it offered stood out for us. We were very happy with our accommodations the home offered us. The parents paid for snowboarding, but the kids had more fun in their own fenced back yard that they didn't leave the house for the mountain the next day. The way the house is laid out, we never felt crowded and found the frontroom with the great fireplace was the gathering room. Being able to eat as a family was very important to us and we only ate out once the three days we were there. The kitchen was well supplied for what ever we were making. We would definitely recommend this home and plan on coming back someday. The Florance Family (January 14 to 17, 2011)

Thanks for allowing my family to rent your home. We were celebrating my son-in-law's birthday and my daughter's acceptance into LAPD academy. Dave's mom and Dad's best friend joined us and the 7 of us had a great time. Your home is warm and comfortable and had everything we needed for a great weekend. The snow was plentiful and made for a great snowball fight for all. Thanks again! This was a comment written in the cabin guestbook.

We had a wonderful time in Big Bear this past week. The Cabin was very nice and welcoming. Very clean and well maintained. We really enjoyed Snow Play and the fact that the cabin was in a great location really helped out. I would recommend this cabin to anyone. The owner responded to my emails promptly. We also really enjoyed our adult night at Nottingham's Tavern. We will hopefully be returning soon.

Spent Christmas up in this cabin and had a great time. Very spacious and plenty to do just within the cabin. The stairs were tricking to block with my 19 month old boy running around but the card table and a folding chair worked to block his access.

Thanksgiving is a special family time for us and we always look for a fitting location. Every few years that quest leads us to Big Bear. Big Bear located around the seven thousand foot level and within two hours drive of Los Angeles. There are many activities to do there year around. This year we were blessed with snow. Often the cabins are dusty, run down facilities. Sometimes we check out early out of disappointment. This year the adults wanted to stay an extra day. The large dining area and family room was nice for playing games or watching football. Three bathrooms came in handy. At times each of the kids went to different rooms to watch different programs. Since the owners of the cabin use the facility themselves they have taken good care of the place. We enjoy Big Bear village, it is really festive, especially at night. This cabin was within a mile of the village. Part of the draw of Big Bear is the lake, which is across the street. The owners are thoughtful and caring people and our Thanksgiving weekend was all we had hoped for. I hope my review doesn't make it harder for us to find space on the calender in future years. We might try it in the summer also. Never rented before without going through agent. This was a good experience and a treat to bring our dog along.

This has been the best rental we have had!!! It's like being at home away from home. Everyone enjoyed the stay so much that we all wanted to stay longer We were 3 families together, and everyone had their privacy, and at the same time whenever we wanted to gather up, which was most of the time at the kitchen/dining room area, there was still enough space for everyone. The kitchen had everything that we needed to feel at home. Everything was in excellent clean condition. The cabin is situated in an area that is close enough to everything. It also has a fenced backyard with a swing which is excellent for my niece and nephew that are 5-6 years old. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone that is seeking a good quality stay. It's like being home away from home!!!

We stayed for a relaxing 9 days at the cabin. As promised, the cabin was beautiful with many amenities. One amenity that was not mentioned was the fenced in yard which was great for my youngest Grandson. My six year old kept commenting on how close everything was to the house. (No, "Are we there yet?"). We all enjoyed the lake, boating, fishing, swimming and some of the unique adventures at Big Bear Lake. We enjoyed parasailing and most of all the Action Ziplining tours. The close proximity to the lake was also something the entire family enjoyed. If you're looking for some delicious seafood dinners, I would highly recommend "Captains Anchorage". We would definitely recommend this affordable and roomy cabin to our friends and we look forward to coming back again. Thanks Suder Family.

We enjoyed the cabin, it was plenty of room for our 2 families. We brought our boat up and had a blast on the lake. The kids were in the intertube all day. We cooked/grilled here most meals so that was nice to have the full kitchen. Kids also liked the water park and alpine ski place. B's Backyard BBQ was great to just dock your boat and eat great food. Pool table, air hockey was nice to have. And all the kids practiced their piano. (I'll be singing Mary Had a Little Lamb for awhile). We had a great trip.

Our family spent a weekend at The Suder house and we were very sad to leave! My six year old son wants to move in ;o) The house was perfect for a few families. We had three families there and it worked out great. The house having 3 levels was a huge help for the adults. We got to enjoy one level while the kids spread out on two. We look forward to making this our family tradition. Thank you David and Darla Suder!

We really enjoyed getting away from the city for a few days. It was nice to be able to have so much space to enjoy with friends. It's the perfect place for a few couples to get together and relax. We're used to our cramped quarters in the South Bay, so being able to have 4 couples in the same place without being cramped was a great change!

We just returned from 3 weeks at the beautiful Suder Cabin in Big Bear Lake. I needed a quiet place to write and for my 9 month old son and husband to have fun things to do. We had family come in and out throughout our visit and we were never crowded or on top of each other. Everything we could need was there . We loved the porch and the grill, walking to the beach at the lake and walking almost every night. The house is super clean and my husband is addicted to the pin ball game. We absolutely loved our time at the Suder Cabin!!!!

It was a very nicely priced cabin considering we have 12 people and a dog. We're surprised that they have almost everything we need in the house--not only the dish washing detergent and sponge, but also bug spray and extra light bulbs. The newly remodeled kitchen and the wood floor made cooking and cleaning so easy. We walked to the lakeside from the cabin and the kids played water guns there. It was also close to the Alpine slide and the water slide. Everyone had so much fun. Hope we can go back next year.

The spa was very nice and relaxing and new kitchen area was very nice. The cabin is spacious with lots of fun activities to keep you busy. The location is great and within walking distance to town or a beach area. We will definitely go again in a couple of years.

Recently we returned back to this cabin after having such a great time last year. There were 5 adults and 3 children in our group. The kids loved the games, pool table, TV's, pinball, airhockey. Then when it was time to play outside, the yard was large enough to build a long snow slide and swing on the swing. Us parents were very comfortable with enclosed backyard, knowing our kids were safe and having fun. At night time when kids were asleep, we enjoyed the jaccuzi and played board games near the fireplace in the spacious living room. (oh, and the location is perfectly centered in town, which made our trips to the resorts, very accomadating). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here, and are already planning on coming back soon.
