Stockton, NJ is a charming small village on the Delaware River, about 45 minutes drive northeast of Philadelphia; about 1&1/2 hrs. drive east of NYC, 40 minutes from Princeton, NJ. New Hope, PA is 4 miles south on the Pennsylvania side of the river and Lambertville, NJ is 3 miles south on the east side.
You'll have the whole top floor of this historic Victorian home. Your suite has an outside 2nd floor private entrance, a second inside stairway leads to your living room with cozy leather sofa and loveseat, 36" TV, games, puzzles, books & magazines, game room, kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, glassware, etc. so you can microwave some popcorn and watch a movie, have that midnight snack or breakfast in bed, and have your coffee and muffins before you have to go out in public. Your bedroom has a super comfortable queen bed. Your private bath has a tub with shower and plenty of fluffy towels. There is a beautiful backyard and garden with a shady outdoor patio dining area with BBQ grill, lounge chairs and hammock for your enjoyment. We have a large off-street car park area. The unique 1-acre in-town location makes it private yet convenient to everything in the valley.
There are an abundance of fun activities and destinations nearby which include art galleries, museums, Peddler's Village shopping, Lambertville and New Hope for food, antiques, boutiques, flea markets & people watching; Bowman's Hill Tower and Wildflower Preserve, Saturday morning farmer's markets in Sergeantsville, Flemington and Doylestown; Solebury Orchards and Manoff Market Garden for fresh produce and pick-your-own. You'll be close to Blue Fish clothing boutique in Frenchtown; Fonthill, Mercer Museum, the Moravian tile works in Doylestown, Sand Castle Winery, and the Bucks County Playhouse. The river offers tubing, swimming, boating, jetskiing; the canal is great for canoeing and kayaking. Fishing, hiking, biking and picnic areas are all easily accessible and disc golf and miniature golf are not far away.
We're just half a block from a delightful walking/jogging/biking path along the Delaware canal and river. There are several great restaurants within walking distance: The Stockton Inn (the "Small Hotel with a Wishing Well") with outdoor dining by the waterfall - check Stockton Inn's site for their music and festival schedule, Meil's for delicious comfort food (Google meil's restaurant and check out their incredible breakfast menu!), Via Ponte for gourmet Italian specialties and pizza; Cravings and Stockton Food Store for informal lunch or ice cream. Phillips' Fine Wines is famous for it's selection - you can pick up a bottle to take to dinner at one of the many tempting BYOB's in the area. A stroll across the river bridge to Center Bridge, PA brings two more dining choices: the hugely popular Dilly's for chili dog/burger & ice cream fare and the Center Bridge Inn which offers Lobster Night Specials (Wed. & Thurs.) and Sunday Champagne Brunch on their riverside patio.
