Location: Jersey Cove, Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada (20 Minutes to Baddeck 40 Minutes to Sydney)

3 bedroom house at the base of a mountain and across from the sea!

There is 1 Bedroom with a double bed downstairs and a full Bath, and 2 bedrooms with double beds upstairs, also with a full Bath. The house features a complete Kitchen, Dining room, Living room with TV, DVD player, and Stereo, and Library room. Washer and Dryer also provided.

We have a highchair, pack-n-play, and an umbrella stroller available for those with little ones!

This house is geared toward spending time together as a family, but also has enough space (and some nooks & crannies) to spend some quiet time alone.

A Hammock is provided to hang by the Birch trees in the backyard. There is also a gas grill provided for cooking out. This area is full of Nature! Be aware that we have had foxes, moose, and even a bear on this property. We also have a family of friendly garter snakes that live out front. Please be respectful of our animal neighbors.

A few beach chairs are in the front hall, and you are welcome to take them across the street to the beach. This is a beautiful beach, covered in round rocks that we have enjoyed collecting and sometimes painting for souvenirs. This is a peaceful spot, perfect for relaxing and recharging.

To reach the house, you may choose to cross over on the Englishtown Car Ferry. The trip takes only about a minute, and runs all day and night. This is a somewhat unusual means of transport, but the view is great! We have seen Eagles & Great Blue Herons, and some folks have actually seen seals! They charge $5 for the Ferry if you pay per trip. This is exorbitant, and we recommend that you buy a book of 20 tickets for $25. You can see that this is a much better deal. The tickets are available from the ferry attendant after you board the ferry.

If you do not wish to use the ferry, you may drive around St. Ann's Bay via the St. Ann's Loop. This is a beautiful scenic drive, mostly along the coast, but it does add about 20 extra minutes to your trip. We recommend the ferry considering the price of gas etc.

The house is about 20 minutes to the Village of Baddeck where you will find shopping, restaurants, sailing, and fishing tours. There is also an information booth where you can get information on all of Cape Bretons attractions. We are about an hour from Ingonish and the Highlands National Park - a MUST SEE! We are minutes from St. Ann's Loop where you can find many local artisans and also North River Kayak, which we highly recommend. Also, Donelda's Puffin Boat Tour is right by the Ferry. She is a real Cape Bretoner, and will gladly share the local history with you as you go out to the Bird Islands where you can see eagles nesting, along with puffins, seals, herons, cormorants, all kinds of gulls and more. Also a must see!
