MAIN CASITA
The main casita is located on a large property in the hills just 2 miles from the center of Atenas. The casita is part of a secure, guarded residential development of custom-built homes bordering a protected ecological reserve. The main casita has a spacious living area with satellite tv, wireless internet access and a fully equipped kitchen. The master bedroom has a king sized bed with an attached bathroom. Relax on the covered balcony with a cup of world famous Costa Rican coffee.
Come enjoy the peaceful serenity and the wonderful views of mountains and valleys from the hammock or the rocking chairs on the large covered patio close to the main house. Take a refreshing dip in the solar heated pool and release the stress and tension of your everyday life.
Atenas is just 30 minutes west of San Jose airport and an hour from the Pacific coast. There are various shops, markets, banks, post office, drug stores, eating places, bakeries and other amenities within walking distance or a $3.00-4.00 US taxi ride.
The property is electric-gated, and we have a live-in caretaker for added security. There is a hiking trail perfect for active guests.
If you are lucky, you may see toucans, hummingbirds, parakeets and other wild birds. Monkeys, iguanas, and maybe even a sloth can be viewed right from the balcony.
The temperature is a mild 70F/21C to 80F/27C during the day and never below 65F/18C at night, so bring your shorts and t-shirts, a wind breaker, your tennis shoes and sandals, and visit Costa Rica, the land of the 'Pura Vida' or 'Pure Life'.

SECOND CASITA
There is a second, 1 bedroom detached unit with a queen size bed, separate bathroom, balcony and fully equipped kitchen below the main casita. There is a television with local channels available. This casita is rented seperately from the main casita.
Enjoy the same privileges, views and tranquillity as the main casita.
Your gracious hostess speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.

This particular location offers the combination of a secluded hideaway in the mountains bordering a natural reserve with easy access to the small town of Atenas. San Jose, the capital of Costa Rica is within an easy 45 minute drive. This drive will be shortened in December 2009 with the opening of Highway 27 from San Jose to Orotina.
