' HOME RUN' is a large, kid and pet-friendly ski chalet 1/4 mile from the downhill's Home Run and a five minute walk to the lake; truly, a pristine ski-in and ski-out environment. It stays pristine because vehicles cannot reach the homes above the village as we are snowed in for most of the winter.
Therefore, alternative transportation such as a snowmobile (rentals @ BV Snowmobile 753-2620) can be provided. You can walk, snowshoe and ski everywhere-we're just a mile from the lodge. Don't worry, this only adds to the adventure and kids love it.
This newly updated home is perfect for two families. The upstairs bedroom has a new queen bed and the loft has a new fold-out couch and futon. This floor is situated so that it enjoys spectacular morning color. The first floor bedroom has a new king bed and attached tile bath with radiant heat. The dining table seats ten. There is no television service at HOME RUN, but there is a home theater with Netflix, a piano, a fireplace, a nice view and more stars than you've ever seen; it is one of National Geographic's 'Dark Spots'.
Many of our guests prefer the warmer seasons-colorful Spring wildflowers on our creek, the golden aspens of Autumn and the beauty of a perfect BV Summer during our annual Music Festival. After a full day of activities perhaps enjoy a local fine wine in the private all season hot tub. It's on 1300 square feet of decking and provides the setting for a stunning alpen glow experience.
Those who love Bear Valley for its solitude also love the ease of its travel. There are no mountain passes to traverse hence no avalanche closures; straight up from Murphys through the foothill's wine country, just 30 snow miles to the summit near Ebbetts Pass. The wide US SCENIC BYWAY to the mountain is always open. This is the closest ski resort to the Bay Area.

Just wanted to thank you for a wonderful time. We thoroughly enjoyed your beautiful home and all that it had to offer. We parked the car and did not drive it all week, we skied down the road to the shuttle then skied home run back to the cabin. The kids had a blast, we built a totally awesome snow cave on the front deck with two entrances. I will attach a couple pictures. Hope we can do it again. Why the Owner Chose Bear Valley:
My brother and I were skiing the central Sierra in the late 80's and never left. The idea of being at this altitude in a Wilderness area in a town of 125 people but with full amenities was extremely compelling.
