What a wonderful home base for our week in Key West. Everything about Paradise lost was just perfect. We loved the location - Nestled in tropical luxury at the gates of The Truman Annex you'll find Paradise lost - just 2 blocks off Duval Street and 2 blocks from the water where you can sit and enjoy "private" sunsets...just in case you don't want to be in the masses at the Sunset Celebration every night. The amenities are great - we had everything we needed and wanted. Comfy, clean furniture and linens, comfy beds and lots of fresh clean towels. The washer and dryer was a big plus. The kitchen was just perfect for a vacation kitchen and it had everything we needed. I cannot think of anything you would want that Paradise Lost does not have. ps - and Al, the owner, is pretty great too!

The listing description was accurate and the property was exactly as pictured. The unit was clean and well maintained; the kitchen is stocked with casseroles, pots, pans, glassware, dishes, etc. for those times when cooking within the condo is preferred. The large lanai was comfortable and private. We especially appreciated the owner's prompt responses to all of our questions and his suggetions of places to eat and see were "right on point." We would recommend this condo to anyone who is looking to be within walking distance of all of Old Town Key West with the added benefit of security and quietness during the evening hours. (Keep your windows closed if you don't want an automatic morning alarm from the roosters - an authentic aspect of the K.W. experience!)

Paradise Lost didn't disappoint! My mom & I try to get to Key West every couple of years for some together time and while we've stayed in a few places, this condo was absolutely perfect. It's such a great location within the Annex and close to everything we needed - restaurants, shopping, sight seeing/local interest spots, late night music & bars, and even the market for supplies. The Annex is a huge complex, but Paradise Lost is just 2 blocks off Duval, and we could walk to everything - from the Southern Most Point to the sunset at Mallory Square. I absolutely love Key West, so finding a spot that's in the middle of everything it has to offer was just perfect - and coffee in the morning on the patio was very much paradise!! Wouldn't rent anywhere else, thanks Al - we look forward to coming back!! The New Hampshire Girls

We stayed at this condo the week of Thanksgiving-Saturday to Saturday. There were 3 of us and this condo and location were absolutely perfect! The condo is super clean and perfect for 3-4 people. We flew into Ft Lauderdale, rented a car and drove down Saturday. We turned in the rental car on Sunday and picked it up again the Friday before we left. You really dont need a car while in Key West. The location is the best. We were right by the guard shack in the Truman Annex which was nice for security reasons obviously. We were two blocks from Duval and literally less than 10 minutes away from the Fort Zachary Beach/Fort via bikes. The bike rental place was on the same street and just on the other side of Duval. Renting bikes was great as we didnt have to feel guilty about all the good food we were eating while on vacation. The kitchen was great for our stay. We made breakfast each morning (except for one) and had snacks during the week. Al (the owner) provides really helpful and wonderful suggestions on where to eat, things to do and see. We kept those print outs handy all during our stay. We hit several things on his lists and want to thank him for everything. He is always available if needed...another nice touch. I had to share our wonderful experience in case someone else is looking for a great place to stay and enjoy Key West. Paradise Lost was and is perfect for the quiet, safe, clean, convenient and memorable stay.

Key West Excellence

Our stay was outstanding! The unit is clean, well equipped and in an excellent location. Morning coffee on the back deck was a great way to start the day as was an occasional cup on the front porch watching the world passing by. Pretty much everything is within walking distance - the beach at the state park, the raw bars at the marina, the Duval Street and Mallory Square activities and the many Key West historical sites. The area has much to offer - weather, culture, history and nature - and this condo makes for a great place to soak in the Key West life!

We just got back from our stay at this condo, May 2011. It was prefect! Al was very nice and helped with his lists of things to do while we stayed in Key West. The condo was so nice and clean. We had 6 adults for part of the week stay and we managed relatively good with all of us space wise. Would proably recommend 4 adults for this one. The outside grounds where always being worked on while we were there and everything was so pretty. It was wonderful to be able to eat out on the back patio for serveral meals. Everything you need is in the kitchen it was fully equiped. Loved to grab a cup of coffee in the morning and just enjoy the outside area. We used the pool once while we where there it was nice and not over crowded with people. One of the best things is the condo is close to everything, within walking distance but you can get away from all the action and it is very peaceful in the condo. We ate out serveral times and enjoyed several of the recommendations Al gave on his lists. The lobster benedict was really good. I would highly recommend the condo for a nice place to stay in Key West. Al is great and we had a blast!

Our second home

We are a French family and come each year to Key West. This is our third stay in a row in this condo. We really love the design, space, atmosphere of this place. We felt home the minute we walked in the very first time! Al, the owner and now our friend -, does an outstanding job in maintaining the condo clean and in an excellent shape (it has just been freshly repainted) and making your stay a special experience. The condo has two bathrooms which makes it really comfortable for our family with 2 teenagers! Only a few condos in Truman Annex have two bathrooms. The condo is very well located in Truman Annex, a few minutes walk from Duval Street, a few minutes drive from Fort Zachary Taylor Beach and Park. It is just the perfect place! Thanks again Al! What a great place to stay in Key West! Truman Annex is close to everything yet quiet and secure. The condo was really nice... clean, comfortable and with all the amenities. It was perfect for our party of four. We travel quite a bit and have stayed in many vrbo accommodations - I would say this was one of the nicest. Plus Al is great... helpful in every way but not intruding. He even picked us up at the airport!! His lists of places to see and restaurants to visit were top notch. Too bad we couldn't go to all of them! Our vacation was really wonderful and this place was one of the reasons!

Al's property was very very clean. The Truman complex is very secure. Close to Everything. We used a bike to get around but could have definitely walked everywhere. The views are spectacular and the condo had every amenity that we needed. Very easy and fun vacation for four adults(our party number). We look forward to our next trip.

This condo was a wonderful place to stay and experience Key West. It was spotless and beautifully located close to Duval Street and Ft. Zachary State Park.... We experienced Sunset at the State Park which we enjoyed much more than Mallory Square....Al's list of places helped us see and do all we needed to while we were there. The covered patio out back was private and with ceiling fans a perfect place to sit and relax. I look forward to returning to this condo.

This place was perfect! It was clean, well decorated, well equipped and close to everything! We especially enjoyed to covered deck with the ceiling fans. It made sitting outside for morning coffee and evening drinks very enjoyable. The owners as very helpful with his list of places to go and things to do. This was a great vacation choice for my family. We were very comfortable. Paradise Lost is a great location to access all of the fun, but be able to retreat to a quiet spot at the end of the day. Al made great recommendations for what to do (and not do) as first timers to Key West. That was tremendously helpful to us. Our favorite spots - Blue Heaven for breakfast, Kelly's for happy hour and El Soboney for great Cuban food. We enjoyed South Beach with our kids. This was a great trip!

The condo is as described but better. The standard of cleanliness and comfort was very high. Everything was provided to suit our needs. The kitchen is well-equipped, the showers work well and the sitting out area at the rear is perfect at all times of the day and in the evening. We were particularly pleased with the owner Al who was very helpful and did not have any expensive add-ons for cleaning and deposits. He immediately responded to our requirement for a second set of keys. The location is perfect, near to the beach and the town, leafy and safe. We found many nice restaurants but particularly Cafe de Trattoria, also known as Virgilio's, on Duval.

One of the best VRBO properties we have ever rented! This was our second trip to Key West and we discovered this complex 2 years ago. This trip we made sure we rented here due to it's proximity to downtown. Al's condo was beautiful,clean, well stocked, convenient not only to downtown but to the state park, the Eco Center and all the fun midtown. The 4 of us had plenty of room and the French doors were open to the deck every chance we had to enjoy the sunshine. Next time we rent we hope to stay 4 weeks and this would definitely be our first choice.

One of the best VRBO properties we have ever rented! This was our second trip to Key West and we discovered this complex 2 years ago. This trip we made sure we rented here due to it's proximity to downtown. My boyfreind and I stayed in condo # 208-6 in November 2009 for the power boat races and I have to say the condo was awsome. Very clean/comfortable and relaxing not to mention very tropical. We would recommend you stay there, you won't want to leave, :) Stay there you won't be disappointed.

Paradise is not lost. It is right here waiting for you to show up. We rented the condo for a month and had a fabulous time. It is very neat and comfortable and has everything you need, even big beach towels in the closet. And it's right at the main entrance next to the Guard House which we thought was the best location in the complex. We enjoyed many strolls through the Truman Annex neighborhood down sidewalks lined with lush gardens and magnificent historic homes that passes Trumans Little White House and comes out right at Mallory Square for the Sunset Celebration. Or you can walk two blocks up right to the middle of Duval Street where all the action is. A couple of times, when the weather was not good (or we had stayed out too late the night before) we cooked on the grill and stayed in the comfort of home away from home. Can't wait to go back. Thanks again Al for allowing us to enjoy this Paradise!

Paradise Lost is paridise found! My husband, two teenagers, and I loved the condo...It was CLOSE to EVERYTHING you could possibly want to do in Key West; we walked everywhere! The condo was clean, had beautiful decor, comfy beds, tons of towels, great pool, great a/c, lovely back deck, botanical landscaping! When we return to Key West, we will definitely rent this condo again!!!

I found the 2BR condo on the internet and rented it for one week in April 2009 for our yearly family spring vacation in the Florida Keys. The apartment is really adorable, cosy, decorated with taste and nicely furnished. Above all, it is very clean, a very important detail for us. It has everything you need, even beach chairs. We particularly appreciated the deck and tropical garden for our evening barbecues. The pool is a five minutes walk. Over all, the location at Truman Annex is great : few minutes walk to Duval Street, few minutes drive to Fort Zachary Taylor State Park Beach, and in the middle of beautiful tropical gardens. We particularly loved the small and adorable pathways to walk to the pool or through the community. We absolutely loved our stay at Paradise Lost. Great condo with wonderful furnishings. Easy walk to everything but quiet and safe.Wouldn't stay anywhere but Truman Annex if we return to Key West. Super owner to work with.
