Absolutely Perfect!
My husband and I stayed here for 9 glorious days. The studio is as pictured; two spacious rooms and a bath with a patio. And it’s spotlessly clean. The bed and pillows were very comfortable.Plenty of hot water.Large capacity washer and dryer.Open glass sliding doors and the front door and you have lots of fresh air flowing through. And the view is amazing from the patio. There is a nice parking area close to studio too which upon arrival a personalized welcome sign was on privacy fence so we would know where to park. While the studio is nestled between the main house and a cottage with a permanent tenant,it is very private. This is much appreciated. After a busy day taking in all that Hood River has to offer coming back to the studio was a delight. If we are ever back in the area we would definitely stay here again.Thank you John and Allison.

Clean studio with beautiful scenery
My husband, daughter, and I spent three nights in Hood River. This rental was clean and provided plenty of space for the three of us (our daughter slept in a pack n play). My husband and I enjoyed watching the sunset from the back patio. It was less than a 10 minute drive to downtown Hood River and the Indian Creek Trail provided a good running option right from the VRBO. The property managers were wonderful: kind and thoughtful but also respectful of our privacy and not overbearing. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay. Hood River has so much to offer!

Lovely Setting and Accommodations
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely and well-appointed studio. The setting and views are beautiful and we enjoyed the privacy this studio offers. Everything we needed was available and the unit has a large, very nice kitchen/living room area. The entire unit is so large it does not feel like a studio. We enjoyed the rural setting and beautiful vistas, but still were only minutes from downtown Hood River.

About the host

Hosted by John Bryan

Host profile image
Alison and John Bryan moved to Hood River in 1993 from Berkeley, California with the intent of trying out small town life. The experiment was a complete success. 'Small town life suited us well and allowed us to raise two beautiful children and enjoy day upon day of the beautiful Hood River valley. Although we are slowing down, we still enjoy boating, snow skiing, kiteboarding, gardening and hiking minutes from the studio.

Why they chose this property

Hood River and the Columbia Gorge offer some of the most unique seasonal recreation and activity of anywhere we have been in the US. Within 20 minutes of 'The Studio', you can enjoy world class hiking, mountain biking, windsurfing and kiteboarding, kayaking and glider flying. The Hood River valley's unique location sets it close to the city of Portland, Oregon, a major metro area, but also protects its unique beauty and its future with geographic location and the National Scenic Act, which limits development. Hood River and the Gorge will have that 'small town' feel for a long time to come.

What makes this property unique

Small town means friendly people, who bend over backwards to offer you help, advice, and encouragement for whatever your travel goals might be. Small town means no traffic jams, lots of bicycle traffic, walking and local fare. Should you take the day off from windsurfing, kiteboarding or any of the numerous recreational offerings, there's always a winery to visit (5 minute walk to one) or local street parties, farmers' markets, craft fairs and plenty of nightly music and restaurants to visit.
