Escape to the beach and stay with us at the spacious 4 Bedroom Mainsail Cottage! This home is located in the gated beachside community of Mainsail in Destin, Florida along the Emerald Coast of the Florida Panhandle. Our home has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing all of your meals during your stay if you wish.
The dining area off of the kitchen seats 8 people with additional seating for 4 people at the kitchen bar area. Enjoy the partial view of the water from the second & third floor balconies of the home. The beach is approximately 400 yards away as you meander through the landscaped grounds. In other words you will not have any roads to cross to get to the beach with this beach access home.
One of the community’s swimming pools is conveniently located just steps away from your back patio. You will enjoy the many resort amenities of this community including tennis courts, fitness, two community pools, hot tubs and shuffleboard too! This Destin vacation home is a great beach retreat for families and groups traveling together.
Relax on the beach and after a day in the sun, spend some time shopping at one of Destin’s great shopping plazas. The Silver Sands Factory Stores, the nation’s largest outlet mall is just across Emerald Coast Parkway from this cottage and even more shopping and great dining is within a couple of miles.

While staying at Mainsail Cottage your Starbucks fix for the morning is just across the street at the Silver Sands Outlet mall, it's close enough to walk. You will enjoy being located close to 2 grocery stores, pharmacy, & Buster's Bar & Grill restaurant. Buster’s is a family favorite that visitors to Destin, Florida have enjoyed for over 20 years. The kids will enjoy Giggles the Clown with her balloons and face painting & Dad will enjoy 4 projection TVs, 2 Big Screens, and 24 other color TVs placed strategically around the restaurant to catch his favorite sporting events.
The Whales Tail Beach Restaurant is only one mile to the west of Mainsail. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you do have dinner here you will be able to view one of the best sunsets in the area.
What else to do in Destin?
As I mentioned earlier the Silver Sands Outlet Mall is just across the street & it is home to over 100 stores. You will find your favorites such as Polo Ralph Lauren, Banana Republic, Brooks Brothers, Eddie Bauer, Liz Claiborne, Tommy Hilfiger, Lenox, Nike & many more. Panera Bread, Cheeseburger in Paradise & Carraba's are located in front of the mall for meal breaks.
The Market Shops of Sandestin & the Village of Baytowne Wharf are just 1 mile to the east of Mainsail. You will find unique specialty stores at both places as well as entertainment throughout the year at the Market Shops Green or the Central stage at the Village. Some of the newer adventures added the Village are the Eurobungy & the Zipline. The Zipline will give you a great aerial view of the Village as you zoom over the lagoons. Try it at night!
The Destin Commons outdoor mall offers more great shopping with stores such as Abercrombie & Fitch, Ann Taylor Loft, Banana Republic, Black/White Market & Maui Nix Surf Shop to name a few. You will also find dining such as Hard Rock Café, Blue Point Fish Club, Tony’s Ristorante & Sushi Siam. More than just shopping the Destin Commons Center Plaza offers a soft-play kids playground and a 49-head pop fountain for a great afternoon of fun. Community activities and entertainment are held throughout the year at Destin Commons. Rave Motion Pictures is also housed at Destin Commons to catch the latest releases.
Big Kahuna's is a family favorite that offers a cool refreshing alternative from the beach. Enjoy a day of water slides & lazy rivers here. Their newest attraction is the Honolulu Half pipe, a mixture of surfing, body boarding & skateboarding. Also try out the adventure rides such as the Cyclone, Sky Coaster & the Super Speed Raceway.
Destin, Florida is known as the ”World’s Luckiest Fishing Village,” & boasts being home to the largest fishing vessel fleet in the state of Florida. One of Destin’s many charter boats would love the opportunity to take you out for a full or half day excursion.
Water surrounds Destin with the intercoastal waterway to the north and Gulf on the south, creating an abundance of other water sport opportunities, including kayaking, wave running, parasailing, kite surfing, snorkeling and so much more!
The Destin Harbor has quickly become more than home to our fishing fleet. At the Harborwalk Village, more shopping, dining and activities are opening every day. Newly opened is the Commander's Palace Restaurant & soon to open is Pat O'Briens. They are two New Orleans favorites that will be a great addition to the Destin Harbor.
