Aloha and welcome to Hawaii Paradise by the Sea on the incredible Hamakua coast in historic Hakalau. Be one of the first to vacation in this newly constructed two bedroom, two bath plantation home. The back lanai offers beautiful views of the ocean, incredible sunrises, passing ships and whale watching which you can enjoy from your private hot tub and outside dining area. We just added a foosball table(table soccer) for hours of fun. You will be greeted with fresh flowers, local fruit and baked goods for your enjoyment.

The locals refer to this part of the island as God's country and it won't be long before you see why. You can walk to the cliff's edge or down to Hakalau Bay for swimming or body boarding. We are minutes away from Umauma Falls, botanical gardens, the grand 442 foot Akaka Falls, Kolekole Beach Park (a nice place to picnic) and the small town of Honomu with it's quaint shops, pizza and the best shave ice around. Honolii, one of the best surf spots on the island is only 10 minutes away. The historic town of Hilo is 5 minutes further with a farmers market, Tsunami Museum, Rainbow Falls, Liliuokalani Japanese style garden, Banyan Drive, Coconut Island and downtown shopping and dining. Another 30 to 45 minutes South will bring you to Kilauea Caldera-the world's most active volcano, the hot ponds and tidal pools to snorkel in. A 30 minute drive North of the house brings you to breathtaking Waipio Valley, Parker Ranch and golf courses.

The spacious retreat comes with everything you need to enjoy making your special meals or smoothies in this beautiful kitchen with granite countertops. You will find everything you need to make your vacation complete even your own washer and dryer. This home is handicap accessible. Sorry no pets or indoor smoking.

This is a separate rental unit adjoined to our home where you will have complete privacy with your own private entrance and phone number. So come relax, enjoy, and experience Hawaii Paradise By The Sea.

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this home. It was very clean, bright, and spacious. The ocean view was nice. Unfortunately, we were not able to get up early enough to see the sunrise. We appreciated the greeting from Sandy when we arrived. Her friendly demeanor and bright smile added to the visit. We ate up all the yummy goodies that she left for us. We came with my husband's parents to celebrate their 50th anniversary and they told us that the accomodations exceeded their expectations. Thank you Sandy and Bob for your hospitality.

  • From the moment you arrive, the owners make you feel welcome at their Paradise by the Sea. This beautiful island retreat had everything we needed during our six-day stay - from lawn chairs and ice pack for trips to the beach, to pointers on local eateries and sites to see from the owners. It is evident they take great care, and pride, in providing a well- appointed, spacious and relaxing home-away-from-home. We would highly recommend this rental.

  • We spent the month of February on Oahu, the Big Island and Kauai. We spent 10 days at this property and it was the best of the 3 we stayed at. No complaints about the other properties, but this was very nicely furnished, roomey, well equiped and comfortable. The hot tub is a great feature and the view from the large deck is very nice. We covered the Big Island during our 10 days here and liked this side of the Island the best, lots of "green." The owners take a lot of pride in their property and are very helpful. Based on our experience, we highly recommend Hawaii Paradise By The Sea.
