HISTORY.
Originally Built in 1880 this Classic French designed building with marble & wrought iron staircase & original ceramic floors, was last a High School until fully and lovingly restored in 2004. The apartment is located on the 3rd floor of a seven story building serviced by modern lifts and has 24 hour Concierge security. There is a first floor mezzanine level from where you can look up at the stunning interior iron balustrading and see a very large skylight that can be opened to allow air to circulate but closed when it rains.
The apartment is spacious and well proportioned (66sqm or 710 sq ft) and has been totally refurbished & re-equipped by the new owner including white Cararra marble kitchen bench top and two rectangular tables on wheels that can be joined together. Free of charge is private safe and WiFi access using your own computer. To suit the discerning traveler and unlike most, this apartment has lots of natural light from two light wells but also the owner installed 50 lights including dimmers for those that prefer to have more control over their environment. I mention this becuase of my past experiences renting apartments in Argentina. 'Lots of light' usually means that there are two light bulbs. My wife and I like lots of natural light but also the ability to to control and have ample artificial light...my wife is especially insistant on this for the mirrored ante bathroom. She insists that's what women need.
BATHROOM.
The bathroom is separated by a wall and located directly behind the mirrored wardrobe. It is divided into, the Ante bathroom and Bathroom which has a Bidet, Toilet and Shower Bath. All tiled in white Italin glass mosaics. Lots of lighting.
All manchester in bed & bath room is white and 100% high quality cotton. The white leather sofa is just soo comfortable....opening to an equally comfortable sofabed.
Windows in the studio opening to the light wells are curtained by white cotton Roman Blinds and fitted with External timber Shutters, allowing the option to control the environment at your discretion. The floor is the original timber and recently polished.
LOCATION and nearest Cross Streets.
Is Tucuman & Suipachia, (a corner building and hence the nearest cross streets are those mentioned)100 metres from the famous 9 de Julio Av. The building itself conserves the original high ceilings & plaster moldings, in short it is magnificent inside and out. It is a high category apartment near Leandro Alem Av.& Plaza San Martin. Just a five minute walk to the Opera House, Obelisk, and the famous 'Don't Cry for me Argentina' Plaza de Mayo. The Subway (Underground Rail or 'Metro') is just a two minute walk away. Location could not be more central offering easy access to all other forms of transport, entertainment, live stage productions, movie theartres and an overwhelming selection of resautants, cafes, and bars.
As it is centrally located this apartment would suit the business person, shopper or sightseeing traveler. Shopping and restaurants abound in this location and the famous Florida Centre is just a five minute walk away.
TANGO. The famous Cafeterria Ideal is a 5 minute walk and just down the road from tango shoe shops, walking distance to the Galerias Pacificas and its tango school, walking distance to San Telmo (30min) or take the bus outside the door for 1.10 pesos.
RESTARAUNTS...one is located on mezanine level in the building itself and lots more just outside the front door. Lavalle walkway to Florida or plaza areas is 100mts away.
SPORT.
Should sport be of interest and on your agenda Bocca Juniors and River Plate are just a short distance away, likewise Tennis Academys and Clubs.
HIGH SEASON LOW SEASON?
NoT APLICABLE. I charge a reasonable flat rate year round and it is constantly rented...for good reason. It is a quality apartment for reasonable rate. In this particular building there are many apartments one can rent through the commercial property manager, Forcadell. For a studio like mine they charge $US 175 per night (view their website yourself) with nothing like the quality amenities and decor like mine.
THE OWNER.
The owner of this apartment is Italian and is well versed in the expectations of Western travelers and accordingly has attempted to apply and meet these expectations of location and apartment amenities and flair without the overloaded price tag. This apartment is often rented out to Corportate clients & TANGO dancers and afficianados for exteded periods but most often through repeat business and word of mouth recommedations. You won't be dissapointed. If you are concerned about the possibility of 'noise' disturbing your sleep because of its city location, please don't be. Rest assured you will sleep well day or night as it is located at the back of the building and though there are two light wells allowing ample natural light I have installed external shutters and curtains thus allowing you to control the lighting enviroment. I am very aware of the effects of jetlag and that you might initially need to sleep during the daylight hours...just as I do when I visit. Cable TV is available 24/7 with a very large selection of channels in many languages including a multitude in English.

The idea of spending vacation time in South America but having to fly back to Australia all the time for work led me to the decision to purchase my own apartment in BA which would mean when I retired I could come back and visit on a permanant basis.

Recently renovated this magnificent building is 'Paris'. Must see and view.
Cffettira Ideale...one of BA's most famous Tango Halls. Though in need of restoration this is a magnificent Marble building.

I think it is fair to say I have an idea of services and appointments required fot the regular traveller without having to pay through the nose for it. I hate that.
