We immensely enjoyed our stay at The Seedling! From the moment we drove up we fell in love w the place. The decor was homely and everything was just as we were told. The owners were friendly and very helpful, and their directions were easy to follow. We especially enjoyed our nightly visits from Casey, and the rain on the tin roof was an extra blessing. We can not wait to take our boys back and let them experience the wonderfulness of the peace and quiet, Have already recommended the place to several of our friends and family.

Recommended for:Families with young children, girls getaway, pet owners, romantic getaway.

Great couples getaway. The owners were very nice ,easy to work with. Had a nice long weekend ..didnt get out and see any sights or activities.Peace and quiet was what we were looking for. Cozy and comfortable for a good price.

We enjoyed our visit immensely. The cabin was spotless and had more towels and linens than we needed. The owner answered our one call for help immediately and we enjoyed our conversation with him. We will stay there again.

Nice getaway in the hills

We had a nice time in this cabin. Everything worked and was clean, the shower did smell like sulfur, but wasn't terrible. The hot tub is great. The kitchen is stocked with tools needed to make food. The owners were accommodating and easy to work with.

A beautiful cabin BUT...

My husband and two children stayed in the cabin for 2 nights. The cabin and the area are both beautiful but there are a few issues to be aware of...the water is obviously well water and has a very strong and overpowering odor. We had to take showers upon arriving home because the odor in our hair was awful. Also, the water in the hot tub causes brown bubble to surface. We also had issues with the internet. There are two networks, one works with the password, one doesn't and the first time we tried to log on there was only one network on the list. I tried again the next day and the other network was there and it worked with the password. The other and bigger issue...I believe the beds are infested with bed bugs as all four of us are covered in bites.

Owner response:We were so distressed with Meri An's comment about pests, that we immediately went on the internet to research what they look like and where to look for them and then went to the cabin with 2 high powered flashlights in search of the pests. We tore apart the bed, sofa bed, cushions, pillows and looked into every crevice for them. We found no pests nor any sign of them; but, rest assured, we take all guest comments personally and will be calling out a professional exterminator tomorrow to search and spray for them. Yes, we do have well water and also a very expensive water filtration and treatment system to make it more palpable. However, it is well water and may have a slight odor. There is only one network available to the cabin and it is password protected. A quick phone call to us and we would have had the provider reset the connection. The hot tub is emptied, thoroughly brushed with sanitizing chemicals, refilled and then properly treated with the appropriate chemicals the night before each guest arrives. All of our phone numbers are provided to our guests. I called Mari An the evening she arrived to welcome her and let her know that she could call on us any time for anything. A phone call could have handled all but the well water issue. I wanted to let everyone know that we had an expert examine The Seedling. He did a thorough search and found no insects or evidence of such in the cabin. We hope our repeat and new guests continue to enjoy The Seedling's charm.

I apologize for this review being late, but after reading a previous guest's comments, I felt I should respond...... My husband and I stayed in The Seedling on 11-23-10 for our anniversary (just a few days before the next guest had problems?) This cozy cabin was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Yes, the water is sulfur, but we just opted not to take showers since we live just an hour away. The hot tub was perfect and very clean. The chemicals took care of the sulfur and so there was no sign of it. The bed was extremely comfortable and clean. We saw no signs of bugs, during or after our stay. We truly enjoyed our getaway and would definitely return just for the privacy, quiet & price! The owners were very nice and quickly available for questions/help.

Great little cabin in the woods for privacy and comfort

Just a night away with my man for a surprise..about 15 miles from the Monteagle exit..in the woods.private and comfortable..very clean..nice large covered porch..sparkling hot tub at the perfect temp. Good sterio system (slightly difficult to figure it out at first) I highly recommend this place for two people for a romantic get away.....before going, make sure you get the owners directions from the exit off 24..it is very seculded.

Recommended for:Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway.

I had the pleasure of spending 4 days here and it was awesome! It snowed 2 times for us- cabin was cozy and fully equipped! The Lutz's are wonderful and friendly people who are great for sharing this place of rest and relaxation with us! I PROMISE this wont be the last time we drive 12 hours to stay here again!! Was worth every penny of it!!!
