We are from Edinburgh in Scotland. Buttercup House is our second home. Buttercup House is on a select sub division on a canal on the waterfront a few yards from the intra -coastal waters of the gulf of Mexico. Our home isn't a rental style house it is European / American in style with quality furnishings and fixtures. Interior design is my passion and you will see this when you visit Buttercup house.
Buttercup House is on two levels: top level comprises the sitting room, dining room , bedroom 1 & 2. the views are superb,straight on to the decks and the water. All bedrooms have minimalist murals on the walls by a local renowned artist from Austin,Texas. I cannot decide which bedroom i like best they all have a different feeling. The en-suite to bedroom one is very romantic with a free standing tub, large walk in shower, double porcelain washbasins & his & her dressing room/wardrobes.
The lower level encompasses 2 bedroom, games room & bathrooms again very spacious. The games room is not of a style you will see in Texas- I commisioned the Artist from Austin in Texas to do full size murals on the walls to intimate a French cafe, within my cafe a full size pool table, dart board, bar, board games, flat screen with cable, music system.

Hello, my name is Audrey Rodger, I am Scottish and I live in Edinbugh Scotland. I am a nutritionist and interior designer, this will become apparent when to visit Buttercup House -it has a European American flavor -its not a rental style home its very stylish with lots of amenities and an eye to detail. A local artist from Austin Texas has added murals on some of the walls, which also adds to the individuality of my home. I hope you enjoy our second home as much as we do, my family and I try to come as often as possible. I have a daughter and son, my daughter is married to an Irish chap and lives in Belfast Northeren Ireland. My son is studying Journalism and is taking a year out at the moment to travel Australia. We have left the management of our property in the capable hands of a local rental managment company so everything runs smoothly.

Why the Owner Chose Rockport
Lots of people have asked us how we managed to find ourselves such a long way from home and how we found Buttercup House. Its an interesting story and buying a house in the United States, never mind Texas was a surprise to us too!
Last year we went to Mexico with friends and afterwards went to stay in Rockport Texas for 5 days to finish our vacation as it was near to Houston where we had a plane connection to get back home. We stayed in a rented house on a canal and whilst there kept looking at this lovely house with great big eves, big decks and absolutely lovely views, we found it just beautiful & peaceful. The 4th day - the day before we were due to leave we had a look inside the house, it was everyhting we could possibly have imagined & fell in love with it straight away.....so much so we bought it and have never looked back. This was a totally unexpected thing for us to do we werent looking for another home but when we saw it we knew this was meant for us. It takes us almost 24hrs to get there with a number of flight changes but we plan to bring our family over at every available opportunity.
